Golden Horseshoe Revue returning in 2013!

From the Disney Parks Blog
Quote:

Golden Horseshoe Revue: The fabled Frontierland show returns to Disneyland for one month only, bringing back the corny jokes and enduring songs that were often enjoyed by Walt Disney himself.
:D

But, it won't be the same without Wally Boag....

Cadaverous Pallor 10-18-2012 04:41 PM

Awesome, I've never seen the Revue.

I also like these:
Quote:

Long Lost Friends Week: Lesser-known Disney characters will move from the shadows to the spotlight meet-and-greets on both coasts. Photo opps with characters that could include Flik, Clarabelle Cow, Remy, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum will surprise and delight guests. And Disney guests even have the chance to vote online for which characters they want to see.
Let's hope the list includes much more than this.

Unleash the Villains: Friday the 13th in September 2013 is a special day, so Disneyland park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are staying open until the 13th hour (1 a.m.). Maleficent, Captain Hook, Jafar and other Disney Villains host a dance party, complete with limited-edition collectibles and other nighttime mischief.
Yeah!

The 13th thing sounds rad. Wanna do that.

Golden Horseshoe will be so wonderfully nostalgic. Can't wait. Oh, and more than the typical 6 characters will be nostalgic, too - since the Park used to feature so much more of them on at least a regularly-rotating basis.

The thirteenth hour is 1pm, they're always open then.

innerSpaceman 10-18-2012 07:29 PM

Really? Haven't they been closing at midnight for years now, even on Saturdays in summer?

Alex 10-18-2012 08:09 PM

Yes, but on the way they're always still open at 1pm.

RStar 10-18-2012 11:07 PM

Yes, 1 am is the first hour. It's a military Timy Wimy thing....

Cool! So will the Billies alternate showtimes with the Revue?

I believe they used to do it that way.

Alex 10-19-2012 06:41 PM

Are they back in there? I thought there were over at the barbecue, or was that just temporary? Probably places I could go and look that up.

alphabassettgrrl 10-19-2012 07:29 PM

Cool!

The Billies are at the barbecue, but I think that's just for the Hallowe'en season.

Gn2Dlnd 10-20-2012 11:24 AM

The Billies are at the old Hunchback performance space, behind the BBQ, and were there all summer. I still don't know why Disney has decided to let the Horseshoe stage sit empty, and try to fill this underthemed corporate party area. My guess is that they're training guests to use this space, and, based on no evidence whatsoever, this will be the eventual home of Disneyland's version of the DCA booze parties.

What we need is a Disneyland Truther film.

Gn2Dlnd 10-20-2012 11:26 AM

Oh, and if I remember correctly, the Revue was long gone before the Billies moved in. I believe they alternated with the Golden Horseshoe Jamboree.

When we were down about 6 weeks ago it wasn't empty, they had Laughingstock playing in there.

Took them almost 20 minutes after paying to get a root beer float out of them so it will remain empty of me for a long time.

(Plus, despite many people disagreeing with me and the name, there isn't a single moment of actual humor in Laughingstock.)

Food service there has never been speedy.

The Billies were at Big Thunder all summer?

To be clear, they were at the Festival Arena all summer. That's the space next to Big Thunder BBQ. And it just didn't feel right. The Billys were use to playing for a packed house, and some shows were mostly empty seats. At least with the Fall stuff bringing people in, they have been getting a more respectible audience, I think.
