Which movie character do you most closely identify with today?
Today I am Beverly R. Sutphin (Kathleen Turner) from Serial Mom.
Just a little warning to all the gum chewers, sloppy recyclers, litterbugs, non dog-walking dog owners and weed wacking noise-makers. I see you (and hear you) and you're pissing me off! Who are you today? |
Well, last week I was Dante, from Clerks (as seen in my sig below...)
I don't know who I am today. |
I usually feel a little bit like Beth in "Pieces of April," concerned and connected to my mom and upset that others in my family aren't considering her illness enough.
Sometimes I feel like Karen in "All About Eve," in proximity to crazy people and unable to help them. And probably whatever I'm trying is not helping them. And perhaps a little crazy myself. Next weekend, I suspect I'll feel a little like Teri Polo's character in Meet the Parents, though I don't suspect there will be great struggle between the parents and Tom; I think they'll like each other. |
Today in particular....
In my daydreams I'm Jennifer Lopez in the Wedding Planner... In reality today.... I'm more Sarah Polley in My Life Without Me |
See the movie Clockwatchers? I feel like being one of those girls today.
|
Today I'm Mame Dennis from 'Auntie Mame'. I'm trying to be fabulous while working at a ho hum job with a headset on.
:) |
Most of the time I feel like Gwyneth Paltrow from Sliding Doors....like my life should be completely different from how it is...and maybe there's another me out there somewhere living the right life.
|
I have always identified with Superman. On the other hand, I remember when the film American Splendor came out, within days I rec'd several e-mails, and two letters from friends, old and new. They all had the same thing on their mind -- about how much I resembled Harvey Pekar, both physically and psychologically. When I finally saw the film, the gurl I brought with me kept nudging me and laughing.

On a bad day, Harold. On a good day, Maude
|
I am Scarlett. Freaking. O'Hara. Today.
|
Sitting in my bathrobe, sipping coffee - I'm the Dude from the Big Lebowski
|
Today I am Julia Sullivan (Drew Barrymore) from The Wedding Singer.
I am catering a wedding today and I'm hoping that Robbie Hart (Adam Sandler) will be there to entertain us. :D |
its Saturday, I'm at work.... still
Watts (Mary Stuart Masterson) from Some Kind of Wonderful |
Fine me a film character that is the "adult" and "advisor" during a tragic situation. That would be be at the moment.
|
You're Obi Wan Kenobi, NA?? :D Somehow that doesn't work.
This morning, I'm all the kids in Dazed and Confused....the morning after the big kegger. ;) My head hurts. |
Today, I am Parker Posey in Party Girl.
...my nose isn't in the Dewey catalog, but it IS in the supplies catalog. |

Oh wait, that doesn't count. The CHARACTER was tragic, not the situation. |

"She's wearing white shoes... AFTER LABOR DAY!" |
For NA: Dr. Tyrone C. Berger (Judd Hirsch) from Ordinary People?
|
Everyday I strive to be a little like Romy & a little like Michelle. (<--Hey! That's like, my first name too! :p)
But today? I'm feeling much more like Heather Mooney. |
I'm feeling like Sleepy...
Someone get my some coffee... |
The Gimp from Pulp Fiction
|
Dobby, the House-Elf.
|
I am totally Nadia (Kim Basinger's character) from the movie Blind Date.
Yikes! |
Lately, I'm channelling Samantha and Miranda from Sex In The City
|
I'm waiting to hear back from a job interview so today I feel a bit like Paul Giamatti in Sideways. I'm having a couple of glasses of wine and waiting to hear from the publisher, so to speak. Not quite as bitter though, and I didn't steal any money from my mom. :)
|
I'm Chance/Chauncey the gardener in 'Being There'. I planted a lot of flowers today.
|
Last week I was Captain Nemo, living off the fruits of the sea - tonight, I had a chili dog. Tomorrow I start work on my submarine...
|
Chili dog, eh? Welcome home! ;)
I still feel like Dobbie, mainly because it's my day off from work and I am trying to hold entropy at bay. It's an excercise in futility. |
I feel like Bill Murray in Groundhogs Day - I have lived the same day over twice.
|
I'm feeling just a teensy bit like Bridget Jones. Every now & then, you kinda wanna stay in your jammies and drink vodka cocktails while listening to Chaka Khan, of course. :)
I'm not doing that, but it sure sounds tempting now and then! |
