What are you doing right now?

wendybeth 01-12-2005 08:28 PM

Posting.

Actually, just finished dinner, and avoiding cleaning the kitchen.

Ghoulish Delight 01-12-2005 08:28 PM

Swanking off.

Not Afraid 01-12-2005 08:33 PM

Thinking about dinner, recovering from bleach sniffing and eating peanutbutter pretzles while folding laundry, cleaning the bedroom and reading 3 different boards.

Baileykat 01-12-2005 08:34 PM

It's commercial on West Wing..so of course I'm checking the boards!

MerryPrankster 01-12-2005 08:35 PM

Trying to warm up my frozen feet! I ran around today with shoes and no socks. The sun was shining, but it was like really chilly outside, man. My dogs are like popsicles and I don't dig it!

Working. Multi-tasking. Reviewing a talk I have to give this weekend. Overseeing a class. Drinking coffee. Posting.

EDIT: I'd probably be writing a paper too, but I accidentally left my bag with my reading & assignment at home today. Probably subconsciously on purpose, since today has been the busy day from hell.

I'm feeling a bit zombie-ish this morning as well. Worked an 11 hour day yesterday, and now I'm getting a cold. Luckily, my shop called to say my first appointment had to cancel, so I get extra p.j. time. It's a blistering 7 degrees outside, so I'm thinking of breaking out the shorts.

Had to get a tooth drilled- owie!!! Didn't hurt so much at the time, but now my jaw is killing me. So far, no root canal, so I am counting my blessings. Had to take Tori to speech after, where I learned that a friend of her's from speech and the deaf pre-school is seriously ill. She's been in the hospital for six weeks in a drug-induced coma, because of uncontrollable seizures that just started out of the blue. They had to remove her Cochlear implant, and they were hoping she was getting better, but now they have to put her back into the coma for several more weeks. She's the same age as the Girl, and just a little go-getter. They can't figure out what is wrong, and no one knows if she'll pull through or have residual impaiments if she does. Ughh. I feel so badly for her parents! Anyway, now that I've bummed everyone out.... (sorry!)
Now, I am in the process of burning dinner and putting pink (temporary) stripes in the Girl's hair.

Here it is: http://www.homemadesimple.com/swiffe...sh/index.shtml

Trying to read the script for "Angels in America." It's so overwhelming and upsetting, I've put it off for far too long. The production I'm stage managing opens mid-February, and it would probably be a good idea for me to get as much crying out of the way beforehand as possible.

Scrooge McSam 01-19-2005 09:09 PM

Sitting here sipping Frangelico and listening to Rickie Lee Jones

Quote:

Company, by Rickie Lee Jones

I'll remember you too clearly
But I'll survive another day
Conversations to share
When there's no one there
I'll imagine what you'd say

I'll see you in another life now, baby
I'll free you in my dreams
But when I reach across the galaxy
I will miss your company

Company
I'll be looking for company
Look and listen
Through the years
Someday you may hear me
Still crying for company

So now you're going off to live your life
You say we'll meet each other now and then
But we'll never be the same
And I know I'll never have this chance again
No, not like you

So, I'll see you in another life now baby,
I'll free you in my dreams
But when I reach across the galaxy
I will miss your company

Company
I'll be looking for company
Look and listen
Through the years
Someday you may hear me
Still crying for company
Melancholy? Maybe, just a little

Not Afraid 01-19-2005 09:11 PM

Ahhhhhhhhh! I remember when that album came out and, even in my punk rock angst, I was loving it.

Yeah, I've just decided to roll with it. Weepy music and alcohol, that's what I say!!!

All the while realizing I always get like this in the dead of winter... down, introspective, picky about everything, as you said, bleh. I'm doing my best Scarlett, as I am after all a Southern girl. I'll deal with it tomorrow. Because, after all, tomorrow is another day {sniff sniff}

As for you, young cricket, at least you're in Monterey :)

And the job search? Ugh Best of luck to you there. It can be trying.

I would rather have the -20 F winter with the possibility of having a hot summer than just having fog and 50 F all year round.

Yes, a friend of mine pointed out that I get like this every winter. She's right. Monterey's okay, now Hawai'i... that's better! :)

There doesn't seem to be a job opening anywhere in Monterey. I've been to 2nd interviews for jobs that barely need a first interview! They just need to pick a monkey and that's it. No, but someone who thinks their job is more important than it is has to scrutinize everything. And then, like BarTopDancer was saying, have a meeting about me and then say, 'No thanks.'

I think even my dog Frodo is depressed. I'm rubbing off on him. Wow, it must be bad! :D

Yep, tomorrow. Scarlett was right. But at the same time, she was loaded and didn't need to find a job. She just needed a new husband from time to time. :D

I've loved her for years. Her second album, Pirates, is as near perfect a collection as I've every heard. I liked her first album even more after hearing her second.

Plus she gets huge snaps for living in Paris, getting fat and still being cool.

You're a good son, McSam. I always have the thought in the back of my mind that one of my parents or in-laws might have to live with us one day. Only one at a time, please!

I'd by lying if I said I wasn't concerned about us living semi-together. We're both very much our own people. But I figure if I can remodel/add on enough to get a seperate 1bed/1bath flat, she can have her own place to go and come as she pleases. We'll see. And even if it doesn't happen, I'll have a small rental to add to the monthly cash flow.

I'm sitting here trying desperately to keep my eyes open long enough to read all the threads I haven't read since the last time I logged in, which was several days ago so there are a lot of unread threads and I don't want to miss anything good even though chances are that I WILL miss something which will make me feel very left out and unloved, something which I have had too much of in my life and work very hard to not let happen again so I do everything in my power to prevent it while at the same time realizing that not everything in life is controllable; in fact most things are out of my control and I should just let them happen and not wory about it but then I lose all control and things just get all screwy so then I have to unscrew them which reminds me that you can't unscrew a pregnant woman but I digress with that old joke and should just get back to what I was originally talking about which was what I am doing which appears to be just rambling on nonsensically which some people would argue is about all I do anyways and most peple have probably stopped reading by now since this is one big ol' honkin run-on sentence and I pretty much have run out of things to say.

For now.

Cohen Brothers = cool. I've loved them forever - or since I laid eyes on Blood Simple.

Zucker Brothers? ? and again ?

I am also clueless about most TV shows and cooresponding commercials, sports - unless it is the Tour de France - Muppets, Pop Music, The Simpsons and their animated kin, Pop Idols, Boy Bands, Billboard Music Charts, Jim Carrey, Reality TV and generally all Pop Culture. Oh, and I also hate most comedy.

I do know Ab Fab, The Avengers, James Bond, Woody Allen, Pedro Almodolvar, Hitchcock, and other odd and wonderful things that people either have never heard of or think I'm strange for liking.

But, then, you all knew the "strange" part! :p

Don't be alarmed, Wendy. I am uneducatable to the ways of Pop Culture.

I think I need to start a support group for the "differently cultured" or maybe just one for their friends. ;)

wendybeth 01-25-2005 11:39 PM

I feel a little better- at least you like the Cohens. And AB Fab. Okay, I'll try not to worry about you so much.

(Jim Carrey??)

Not Afraid 01-25-2005 11:47 PM

Ugh, Jim Carrey! He is among the most despised at the moment. I have a hard time with over-acting anyways, and he is the most annoying.

wendybeth 01-25-2005 11:53 PM

Lol! Teach me to read too fast....I thought that was a list of things you liked! Okay- I definitely won't worry about you anymore. I'm clueless about a lot of current pop culture, unless it's on Nickelodeon or Toon Disney. Never watch TV anymore- bores the hell out of me.

I am sitting in my den listening to the rain pour down on the roof. It's really soothing actually. I'm getting over a cold I acquired in Anaheim and am anxious about a new job I'm starting on Monday. I have laundry to attend to and dishes to put away. Bleh.
I am also in the middle of watching 'The Lion in Winter' remake which stars Patrick Stewart and Glenn Close. It's going to be a long 167 minutes because I have become accustomed to the way Katharine Hepburn delivered all those juicy lines.

I might normally agree with you, though I was quite moved by his performance in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I think everybody in that gem of a film was delightful to watch. Even Dunst, who I haven't liked much, at least not since her lovely performance in The Virgin Suicides.

wendybeth 01-26-2005 11:57 AM

I am sitting here in my jammies, drinking :coffee: and celebrating the fact that I do not have to go in to work today! I normally have wednesdays off, but I was going to go in and do three h/c's for some friends.... I shouldn't be happy, because they cancelled due to illness, but I am glad I don't have to go in! Absolutely nothing.

NOTHING!

That is my plan for today. I even had to call people this morning just to exclaim with pure joy that today is the day of NOTHING! Ry was a little, um, well, let's just say he wasn't as ecstatic as I when he woke up to laughter and me exclaiming "I HAVE NOTHING TO DO TODAY!" as he came to the realization he had a ton of crap to do and was already late to a photo shoot all the way in LA.

I declare today a holiday for myself. The Nothing Holiday. Kind of like Festivus and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Think of it like a birthday. Tonight I'll even have cake AND eat it too! But until then, NOTHING!

Well, wait, I do plan to meet Mamabot for lunch at Bakers. Other than that, until later tonight, nothing. Sitting at the PC, listening to music or watching Usher's Rhythm City on Tivo over and over and over, maybe watch a movie, possibly Tombstone, maybe take a nap... NOTHING.

Nothing.

Frozen peas (in the package) make the best ice packs for after having wisdom teeth out. Seriously.

I'm currently sitting in civil procedure class. I should be paying attention because we're talking about motions for new trial and I don't really get it, but I got called on last week so I know I'm safe for awhile and I'm slacking off. SCSI is very much in use in the mainframe/open systems server world. It's still the standard of data movement, and natively, that's what OS's still speak. I deal, however, in fibre channel which is a high speed porting of SCSI commands across optical (or copper in some older versions) cable.

I-5 South- 46 East- 99 South- 58 east- 14 South!!!

I think it will take longer to get down there than the normal 6 hours on I-5.

Has anybody here who lives in NorCal taken this route before?

Ghoulish Delight 01-28-2005 04:37 PM

BTD, your parents are probably right. The last time my mom brought her relic of a vacuum in for service, she mumbled about ditching it for an upright or something. The repair guy told her that she was crazy and would never find anything today that matched the power of the beast she has.

Right now, I'm basking in my first successful test setup this freaking week. It's just been one of those weeks, nothing went right. Today's been a little better. For the first half, nothing went right, but in the good, "I'm testing for problems and found one" sort of way, not the bad, "Things are going wrong even before I get to the point where I'm supposed to see if things go wrong" kind of way. And now things are finally starting to work as planned. I guess the gremlins called it an early day, this being Friday.

I wish I had time to clean out my closet. There's so much junk in there. I have so many old clothes, shoes and purses. When I get back on Sunday, I will clean it out. The more room I have in my closet, the more new stuff I can buy. :D

Gosh, this doesn't mean the end of the official Look At My New Shoes double hand wave, does it? ;)

Right now, I'm madly imputting software issues into the database system so I can leave work early with a somewhat clean conscience. Only 14 more to go... :groan:

So a nap would be good and probably help my massive headache... if my "quiet"* neighbors quit blasting their opera music or whatever crap it is their blasting. (And no, asking them to turn it down isn't an option).

Wondering why and how I got sick again. Hoping Lisa doesn't worse and I didn't spread this thing any further. Thinking that ice cream still sounds good even if nothing else does. Contemplating future movies nights - 60's spy features - alternate realities - swank. Maybe we'll watch some tonight before going to bed where hopefully our health will be restored by daybreak.

Slowish day around here- did a hilight this morning, and then grocery shopping this afternoon. Now I'm cooking a roast for dinner, and wishing it would hurry up because I am hungry....

Yikes...trying to do numerous household tasks and pack at the same time. I always get the urge to clean and organize right before I leave on a trip. I'm being pulled in many different directions so now I'm taking a little break here!

The shuttle for SFO is picking us up at 8 am tomorrow. Our plane leaves at 11.30 am, 11 hours nonstop to Japan. Why do I always need one more day to get ready for things?

Which reminds me, better bump "Supremecy" up on the Netflix queue now.

Right now, I'm settling in to watch my brand new Jackie Brown DVD. Yay. We'd watch the new Peter Pan that we watched yesterday, but I left it in the car...that would mean having to get dressed, so forget it :p

Not Afraid 01-30-2005 08:08 PM

I just "woke up" after having a sort of nap in which I was more in a dazed state than a sleep state, peppered byt bits of coughing. Why must coughing be a part of every cold?

I'm ready for ice cream and chocolate and bad food. Nothing healthy for my unhealthy body. I feel like a car wreck but, boy are those tabbies who napped with me cute!

I'm the same way...I call it "Deadly Clean"..meaning...if I'm away on a trip and something happens to me and my mother has to come to my house, it better be clean!

Im in the Mall. I'm in the scene where Robert Forester is watching the JB transaction and figures out the swith. You see him walk through the tables and such. I'm right behind him with my arm on the railing in a blue shirt. When he walks up to that spot and when he walks away to follow the "other" lady out, is the best place to spot me.

I wish I knew how to get a jpg of that! ;)

Close. Animal doesn't sing it. I'm not sure whether the character that sings it has a name, but his voice is similar to Rowlf's (which is actually pretty close to Henson's natural voice).

That every single person around you would, given the opportunity, gladly stab you in the back and trample your still-warm corpse underfoot if it meant they'd progress even a millimeter up the socio-economic ladder? Babe, you have got to get some art! Watch a really high quality film, read an enthralling novel, listen to music that moves you, or just look at paintings that impress you. I love good architecture too - if there isn't any in the area, get architecture books from the library's oversize section and plop them on your coffee table for a while. Or even better, get historical art/writings/music/architecture. Experiencing something beautiful that was created hundreds of years ago will teach you that life may be short, but it is also filled with joy and light and intelligence and wonder. :)

I'm thinking that the last few entries from (I'm on a PC, and don't know the code for it, so...) EuroMonkey start with some form of "sipping coffee"

I think I might go on the coffee today, because I had to take a day off yesterday. I really have no clue how much I drank but I was loopy as all get out, and that night.. or should I say, next morning... I woke up with one charley horse, and ended up getting a second one in the other leg that was FAR worse than the first. I'm still feeling it today! Wow, was I ever dehydrated!

Anyhow, right now, I'm at school, catching up on some internet, doing some "necessary research" (or at least that's what I've told the Lab Assistant)... Trying to get myself to go to the Exercise Science Lab. Must exercise.. must exercise...

OY!

Three days without sleep and even the Mona Lisa looks like a devious slut.

However, I decided to stay home from work today and take a sleeping pill so, now that I've had some sleep the world looks slightly more humane. I just have to make it to Friday when our singing group meets again. This is what we're currently working on and this is what it might sort of sound like someday.

And now today's debate -- do I go into work this afternoon? Do I go to class this evening? Or do I just stay home and enjoy the small pleasures of getting housework done?

Welllll.....technically I'm working on a paper.....but it's going something like this:

Step 1: read a page from a book

Step 2: write a sentence, or a fragment of a sentence

Step 3: order CD's from BMG

Step 4: check LoT

Step 5: read another page in a book

Step 6: start to write a sentence

Step 7: look something up in MLA handbook

Step 8: stare at computer & try to remember what I was doing

Step 9: check LoT again

Step 10: download MicrosoftAntiSpyware

Step 11: check LoT again

Repeat.

Whew. a paragraph and a half done......4 & 7/8ths pages to go.

Lamenting the fact that they got the power back on over night. Powering all my equipment back on. And then waiting until all the rest of the equipment that I need to resume working to be powered on an reconfigured. That should kill a morning nicely.

Yes, but be careful which end you're drinking it from, eh?

Not Afraid 02-03-2005 12:46 PM

I'm trying to try to figure out what things off my to-do list need to be done. So, it's To Do list triage, first, then it's figuring out if I have the energy to do any of it.

I may just go back to bed and read about hermaphrodites.

It HURTS to breath through my nose. Abused nasal passages + dry winds = PAIN.

Baileykat 02-03-2005 01:05 PM

Ahhh...To Doing the To Do List! One of my favorite hobbies!

I'm trying to decide if I want to do the two loads of laundry sitting in the hall..or wait til they multiple! Hmmm...the ultimate dilemma!

I'm also snacking on prunes..I sadly like them! I know, they're an old people food...Blame my Granny! She got me started when I was little! Is it good to eat like 20 of them in a sitting...isn't that basically like eating 20 plums...I would never eat 20 plums! Weird huh?

Not Afraid 02-03-2005 01:11 PM

Habe you noticed that prunes are not called prunes any longer, but "Dried Plums"? I prunes has a bad connotation. (I like them too.)

UvaGirl 02-03-2005 01:29 PM

I think Dried Plums sound less appetising than Prunes...

NA, I hope you're feeling better soon.

I'm at work, marvelling at how quickly Friday has come around again. Miraculous, really. I love Fridays:)

Gn2Dlnd 02-03-2005 01:52 PM

We get raisins and prunes, but no cute name for dried apricots or apples? Where's the justice?

Baileykat 02-03-2005 02:11 PM

Dried Plums does sound a bit swankier than Prunes ...but your right...why is a "Dried Plum" a "Prune" and a "Dried Grape" a "Raisin"...but a "Dried Apricot" is still just a "Dried Apricot"..hmm...

Maybe we can come up with swanky names for dried fruits...we could start a Dried Fruit Revolution....

Power to the Fruit!

Was up too late last night feeding the livestock and thinking that perhaps we have too many critters. Came home tonight to two more!!! Eric picked up a couple more Zebra finchies and now all four of them are having a party. Well, they're probably arguing about who is sleeping where and with whom, but I can't tell for sure. Their names are Harry and Ginny, and the old ones are Ron and Oliver. I tried to point out that we already have a Beta fish named Harry, and Eric said it's unlikely we'll get them confused. Allright, but the first time I find birdseed floating in the fish tank....

Just finished the very satisfying task of throwing out two bags of clothes into the trash can for tomorrow's trash pick-up. I finally realized I'll never swing by a Goodwill so out they go now.

Tonight's decluttering project was supposed to be cleaning out the kitchen "junk" drawer, but I found I couldn't put my laundry away in the closet because it was too full! How did this happen? So, in the course of 20 minutes (woo-hoo!), I threw out almost 40 pieces of clothing. That's kind of scary that it was so easy for me to identify the stuff that had to go....

Okay, onto the junk drawer which contains at least seven pairs of sunglasses, extra key chains, trinkets and other useless stuff that I can't bear to part with. I both love and hate decluttering, but my acquisitive ways have forced me to it.... :sigh:

Trying to not be upset...while I was serving lunch at school...Bailey was crying. He said he got a "referral" which means detention while on the playground..for throwing a rock. Not at anyone...just throwing it. Now..I've met and been around the playground monitors...and they are wenches with a capital B! Horrid women who delite in the pain and suffering of little children.

And I know Bailey...I know the tears of a "oops I got caught" face and the tears of a "I didn't do anything wrong"face...and he was for sure sporting the later...I reassured him with a hug and a promise he wouldn't get in trouble at home for this...he was still upset which means...he didn't do anything wrong!

Oh, how I feel for Bailey!! I honestly don't know what to say. Things can go either way for kids and school. If you don't stick up for him, he'll receive the brunt of unwarranted punishment. If you do, it could be a pattern of "Mom Saves the Day." So many times I was blamed, or punished for things I had little or no part of, while the true criminals got off scott free. The worst of all for me was kindergarten year, when the teacher was singling me out. I was only 4, and she just didn't like me. If they had allowed detention, I would have had it, but I spent a lot of time in trouble when I was doing nothing wrong at all. The teacher even had the school run a battery of tests on me to see if I was capable of being a kindergarten student. I was, and after 5 days of solid testing (That, honestly, I'll never forget...) I passed. It was soon to be Winter Break. My mom & step-dad were already thinking about moving, and the schools unwillingness to transfer me to another kindergarten class solidified the decision to move. We looked for a new house and within those two weeks of vacation, we moved. I had a great new school, with a wonderful kindergarten teacher, Mrs B. She changed it from me, and I really started to excel in my classes.

4th grade was a bizarre year for me. I had a teacher who insisted on nicknaming me Airhead. I would get an A on my spelling test, and on a number of tests, she'd write A is for Airhead, and once, she even drew a hot air balloon. She made me so mad...

Anyhow, the story I'm trying to get to... a girl that used to be my friend, Jessica, decided to tell the music teacher that I'd stolen some equipment from her; two tiny cymbals. Over the summer before, a friend of the family that was a belly dancer gave me a set of tiny cymbals for my birthday. And how Jessica did covet them. At lunch that day, my friend Michelle (who ended up being one of the most tried and true people in my entire life) gave me the scoop. I didn't have music class until the next day, so I had time to contemplate what had happened. I didn't know what to say or do. I told my mom, and she was ready to storm down and proclaim my innocence to the world. Later that night, after thinking about it over dinner, I told my mom she didn't have to do anything. That I would find a way to handle this myself.

My mom tells me that she was so proud of me that I said this, but that she was nervous as to what I would do. I never noticed any of it, as I was strategizing over how I was going to tell Mrs. Quist at the beginning of class the next day. How would I say it. I went to bed with a knot in my stomach. Jessica said she could prove that I had stole them! Mrs Quist, according to Michelle, looked like she was believing Jessica (after all, Jessica's mom was well-connected in the school)!

Much to my surprise the next day, I ran into Mrs Quist in the bathroom. Through the cracks of the stalls, I could see her go into the next one, and my pulse ran hard. I finished what I was doing, went to the sink, washed my hands, tried to calm down, realizing that this was my moment.

A moment later, Mrs. Quist stepped out from the stall. I started with, "Mrs. Quist?" and ended with, "but if you like, if you have a concert you need to use them for, I would be glad to lend you mine..." Mrs. Quist politely said "Oh... It'll be fine without it. I'm sorry I doubted you." and quietly left the bathroom.

It was never brought up again.

Just as a note: Jessica continued trying to be Miss Popular, but by the time we were halfway through middle school, her conniving ways had gotten the better of her, and she really didn't have many friends. I still wonder what happened to my friend that she would turn on me like that.

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is to feel this one out. Ask Bailey what he would like to do about it, if possible. Running interference is a tricky game. Of course, none of this matters if his at-school punishments begins and ends with today, but I'm a firm believer that kids need to be given the tools to handle their problems, and the willingness to do something about them. Nurture it!

There are times in my life today where I see myself not doing something about bad situations, sometimes waiting until things are way too late. I'm trying to recover the finesse and bravado I seemed to have as a 4th grader. Hehe. :D

Anyhow, after that long ramble --- Here's what I'm doing.

Typing away aimlessly on the LoT trying to pass a little time while taking a breather in the computer lab at school!

That's a dangerous road to go, because you run the risk of undermining the school's authority. Even both you and he think harmlessly chucking a rock is a stupid offense, if the school deems it an offense, it is. It's important for him to learn that while certain things are alright elsewhere, certain places have their own rules that you have to abide by. Unless he's being falsely accused, or repeatedly singled out, you should probably have him take his lumps with the school, and maybe let him know that while you don't think he did anything horrible, that it's important to follow the rules the school has. I know I got in trouble many times at school for doing things that weren't necessarily attrocious, but inappropriate at a school none the less. And my parents never intervened if it was something I was indeed doing, no matter how innocent I felt it was.

Erica, your "A is for Airhead" story reminds me of a teach my sister had in elementary. That teacher had it out for her. Always singled her out, sent her out of the classroom for nothing. If anyone in the room was talking, the teacher would punish my sister. If I remember correctly she even called her names the way your teacher did. A couple years later in Jr. High, my sister gets put into a remedial math class (this is a girl who qualifies for gifted programs). My parents asked that she be moved, and the school refused. Being teachers in the district and knowing their rights, they demanded to see her cumulative record. Seems that elementary school teacher had slapped a "remedial" note in her record for no reason! Now THAT'S when a parent needs to get involved, and that's the kind of thing a parent really needs to keep an eye out for.

Ahh...Erica..your too much!

And 4th grade drama...I remember it well! I should have been in waaayyy more trouble than I ever was!

I seriously just wanted to attack Ms. 200+ pound grouchy faced, never had a man, beg for leftover lunches everyday wench! I felt for him...broke my heart! Our tried and true rule is "If you get in trouble at school, your gonna get in trouble at home!" and in most cases, I know when my kids are in the wrong...

Bailey's quite the socializer and has been known to get in trouble for excersing his freedom of speech....meaning...he thinks he's free to speak any time, all the time! But he's been really great this year!

Argh! Parenting sucks sometimes...makes you want to seal them up in a bubble and hide them away til they are 40!

So I'm off to pick them up at school and find out what a "referral" really means...

Baileykat 02-09-2005 02:54 PM

Thanks GD!

I'm on the same boat that things are going to happen at school, he's going to get in trouble, he's going to have to suffer the consequences!

I'm sure this is going to be one of those.."You've got to learn from your mistakes!"

blueerica 02-09-2005 03:05 PM

:le sigh:

Things will work, Baileykat.

GD is quite right though. I think parents have to tread a fine line when it comes to involvement in their kids' lives. I'm sure you'll make the right decision.

Honestly, based on what I hear GD & CP talk about on the boards and RL, I can't wait for them to have kids. They'll be awesome parents!

 I'm this close to editing that out of your post...and here I was starting to like you. ;) :p

...I am sitting here, waiting for "The Call" telling me my Blazer is ready to be picked up, wondering what sort of mischief I can get into with the rental (a zipping Grand Am).

Bk, I know that face very well. When The Boy gets in trouble at school he won't cry until I tell him that I am very disappointed in his behavior (not him, but his behavior). When he has gotten in trouble for something he didn't do he is already in tears when I get there.

HAHAHA!! I am also under the firm belief that those that know what's up, also tend to wait to have kids. I'm not trying to pressure anyone here, man... :) I think I was just pointing out the obvious. Hehehe...

Some of the best parents I know never even had a kid...

I just realized that instead of letting the comment sit idly by, you actually chose to duplicate it, which propagated the ensuing converstion...

You're a genius... :D :snap:

I'm waiting for American Idol to come on. I know, I oughta be ashamed of myself.

I think the kid should be called "Aura of Foreboding."

I'm waiting for my work day to end so I can go home and watch American Idol. I used to feel guilty about watching this stuff but now I really don't care anymore. :p

I'm contentedly wallowing in my pit of reality tv mediocrity. Oink! ;)

lashbear 02-09-2005 07:08 PM

Of course, there's always my way.

But, then again, my way involves a turkey baster and a lesbian couple.

blueerica 02-10-2005 09:43 AM

Having my first coffee of the day, looking up bed information for my boss.. Hehe..
