Happy Free Donut Day
Today at participating Krispy Kreme stores, you can get a free donut of your choice.
Mmmmm.....donuts. |
Yum, I smell a mommy and B field trip... thank you for the tip!
|
I'm watching this weird Hello Kitty video with Chloe that's like the book Coraline by Neil Gaiman. I'm tripping out on it.
It would be better with some hot, tasty doughnuts.......We're going as soon as this trippy thing is over. :snap: |
Crapola! Freakin diet...all down the crapper now!
Soooo..you'll get the free hot, fresh glazed donut AND a free any donut! Whoo hoo! Road trip! |
Wait a second, KK gives out free donuts EVERY day. Baker hats, too. So what is the difference to-day?

Thank you for the tip, Mr. Fusion! It's been a while since I've visited a Krsipy Kreme, but looking at its Web site, it seems they offer more varieties of doughnuts now, like Cinnamon Twist and Dulce de Leche. I never thought Krispy Kreme would offer a "twist" doughnut or a Spanish dessert-inspired doughnut. However, I never paid too much attention to the "cold" doughnuts anyway, since the original, glazed doughnuts--when they sign says "Hot Now"--were the star attraction.
On a side thought, I think Krispy Kreme has lowered the quality of its product and brand by selling "cold" doughnuts at supermarkets. Some people I know who have never tried the "fresh off the conveyor belt" hot, glazed doughnuts have thought: "What's the big deal about Krispy Kreme?" People who have only eaten Krispy Kreme's cold, supermarket doughnuts don't know what they're missing--and probably never develop a love for the brand. |
Of ALL the days to have to stay home sick!!!
Today at work I would have gotten the usual Friday free bagel. Plus, they are doing an Ice Cream Social today. And now this?! Aaaaargh! |
I'm still allowed to eat soft foods....donuts are soft....
Oh sweetie..... |

I love me do-nuts and you can misquote me on that. But what do they sell for anyway, $0.60? Better you should wait for an off day and get your free glazed, free bakers hat and shell out another half dollar for your frosted twist w/ sprinkles. All hail the do-nut. Part & parcel for The Good Life. |
We got some donuts...we got some donuts! Wooo hooo!
Here's my trip report: After a surprisingly good lunch at Marie Callendars (not my choice, but I went along!)..we headed across the street to KK. How let down we were to see that the hot donuts sign was not on! I suggested we not go in, and come back later. What's the point of going in if you can't get a hot off the grease donut? Hubby and the children wanted to go in anyway! We stepped inside and noticed that the little buggers were in the proofer elevators and were just about to fall into the large river of lard! Amazed as we were at the globs of flour and fat, we didn't notice the nice man with the complimentary glazed donuts in his hand...apparently not totally fresh..but fresh enough to still be very warm! Ahhhh...warm doughy goodness! We watched the clouds of carby goodness take their little dive under the icing waterfall...and quickly made our way to the counter to "select our freebie"...Kat chose a chocolate glazed with sprinkles...Bailey had a lemon filled and I, in Claires honor, had an apple cinnamon! We felt sorry for all the other neglected donuts sitting in the dislplay that we "adopted a dozen" and brought them home with us. They'll have a good home, I promise! |
Grr. Couldn't make it today.
Guess this beer I'm drinking will have to suffice. |
We call Krispy Kremes the devil. As in "Honey, would you please go get me some devil?"
Hubby promised to go buy me some devil tomorrow. Not free, but still tasty. |

Well, the management of that Krispy Kreme considers cinnamon apple filled doughnuts "promotional" so they aren't offered all the time. I was SO mad! I don't really like doughnuts.....I like hot fresh glazed (weren't any) and my cinnamon apple filled and that's IT. Bah. I was sad. Got the girls theirs and that was that. And I spent $32 on lunch right before, dammit. Oh well. |

Gotta say... don't much care for Krispy Kremes. They're nice if they are frsh and warm, but otherwise... eh
|
I've still never had a KK...the only ones I've seen are the wrapped ones in the supermarket, and I don't want that to be my first KK experience. One day....
|
UG,
Theres a KK not to far from DL. Next time you come out I bet someone will bring you some ;) (or tell you how to go to the store. Or take you to the store if you don't have a car). |
