RIP Anne Bancroft
 

Apparantly Anne Bancroft has died of cancer. I always thought she was an enormously talented and stylish woman. She will be missed.

Wow, I had no idea. She was most certainly an extraordinary woman in both talent and style...

Bummer. No idea she was even sick, though I have wondered about her absence. RIP, lady demure.

I shall have to have a plate of franks-n-beans in her honor.








Or does everyone else remember her as Ms. Robinson?

I think my favorite of her performances was in Home for the Holidays. I love, love, love that movie and she was perfection.

Oh dear, we've lost another Hollywood legend. And what a talented and classy woman she was! RIP, Mrs. Anne Bancroft. You'll be missed.

I thought it was a Blazing Saddles reference. After all, she was Mrs. Mel Brooks.

She will be missed.

Also, the end to one of the better Hollywood marriages (from IMDB: "She and Brooks married at New York City Hall [in 1964], where a passer-by served as their witness.")

And it always bothered her that people (mostly) only remember her as Mrs. Robinson. She thought her work in The Miracle Worker was memory worthy (she won the Best Actress Academy Award for that role).
