Brazilian Girls
 

I picked up tickets yesterday to see the Brazilian Girls at the House of Blue on the 7th. I picked up their CD a month or two ago and have been loving it - I've also been catching bit and pieces of it playing here and there in various swanky locals. Anyone else planning to be at this show?

This band is great. Very sexy beat and vocals - and songs like PussyPussyPussy Marijuana.

I'm now getting all swaked up listenting to "Brazilian Girls" Homme. I'm going to have to get a black baret soon....

What a GREAT show! Brazilian Girls are fun, cool and sexy! The singer is HOT (and I'm a straight girl!). The Dub bass notes were hypnotic and deliciously loud. The whole band was fun to watch and great to see live. As a topper for the evening, we ran into some old friends we haven't seen in ages. Good times.

Well Brazilian girls put on a great fun and sexy show.

But what would you expect from a band with songs such as P*ssy P*ssy P*ssy Marijuana? Of course, with their Italian/German lead singer, Sabina Sciubba, who sings in German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, she could just talk to me and I'd be happy. Her eyes hidden the entire performance under her bangs, her hips forever swaying to the rhythm of the music, were but icing on the cake. But the real fun was that she's also a performance artist.


She entered the stage wearing a tight black body suit with a chunky green belt and three bright white LEDs, one for each nipple, and the third for her P*ssy. The third LED, provided much amusement for the evening as it traveled down and behind her body, so that at one point she performed the "first self-performed public P*ssy removal" - ultimately tossing the LED P*ssy to eager audience members. Better still was the call for the gentleman to return her P*ssy later in the show, with assurance that there was plenty of P*ssy in the room and that he'd certainly take one of them home with him.

Continuing with the P*ssy theme (made all the better by her accent – PooSee), she performed P*ssy P*ssy P*ssy Marijuana, and divided the audience into a groups of men (and women who like P*ssy) and women, and facilitated chants on variations of "I want a P*ssy" for the men and "I've got a P*ssy" for the women. I tell you, as crude as this all may sound in my description, there is something unbelievably erotic about a roomful of women coyly chanting (and swaying) "I've got a P*ssy." That is a memory that will stick with me for a while.

Contrast this with the opening band, who did one number with a gal who's seen too many Garbage videos. She came on stage trying to be sexy in that same way drunk people act sexy - banging into the equipment as she tried to bend over to show off the top of her ass crack, breaking the mic as she rubbed her boobs and crotch. Honestly, I felt embarrassed for her but also found myself thinking the band should next time hire a professional stripper instead of one of their skanky friends.

Love the Brazilian Girls. That CD is great.
