chop chop

Thinking of chopping off my hair again. If I do it, this time I'll cut the full dontatable 10 inches off. Get some cute, perky hairdo for the rest of summer. Kinda torn though, as I only just got it permed like... 3 months ago. Then again, it was a $30 perm, so it's not like I made a huge investment.

Should I do it? Or leave my hair as it is?

I admire people who chop it all off.

Eventually, when I get sick of coloring my hair, I'll let the roots grow and I'll cut it really, really short. Which, sadly, makes me look like an ugly boy from certain angles, but I LOVE short hair. So freeing.

I say chop it. You can *always* grow it long again.

I LOVE my short hair. It takes me almost NO time to care for it and it makes mu life so much easier (not that it is difficult  ). If you have enough to donate, do it now.

This summer's meltdown calls most strongly for the chop-chop.

Get out those sharp choppers and chop some suey.

Mid-westerners would practically KILL for our mere 107 valley temps. So do your part to instill national harmony and forgodsake at least cut all your hair off. Don't throw it in their faces that you can have long hair and still survive.

I noticed you had put the "full donatable 10 inches" in your post. To whom do you donate your hair and is there information on that?

I'd love to grow out my hair and donate it!

wendybeth 07-25-2005 12:10 PM

LV- the usual place to donate is Locks of Love. (Unless Morri has another place she is thinking of). Our salon is a participating salon, and I don't charge for the haircut when someone is kind enough to donate their hair. Just a few weeks ago, I cut one of my clients' near waist length hair, which he grew specifically to donate.

Thanks WB! I'll contact my hairdresser and see what they can do for me if I donate my locks!

Bald baby, bald!

Morrigoon 07-25-2005 02:05 PM

Yeah, I meant Locks of love. Last time I only took off 7", so I didn't have enough. This time, if I'm gonna do it.... well, yeah. Goodness knows, I've got enough hair, though it would require going shorter than I've had since kindergarten. But then again, my hair grows FAST, so if I hate it it'll be gone soon enough.

mousepod 07-25-2005 02:40 PM

Go for it! Did the deed before the Japan trip - bagged it up for Locks of Love. You get a fresh new look and someone in need gets something out of it. Like iSm said, the summer's here. Now's the time.

Both my Wife and Sister do Locks Of Love every 3 or 4 years; and a few of my friends and I have had it All cut off......http://www.stbaldricks.org/.

Very cute on you Morrigoon!
That takes some years off of you. Not that you needed to lose any! I suspect you'll get carded soon.

(At least I am not the only one who takes pics of themselves in the mirror)

It makes me sad that charaties weren't around when I had over 2' cut. My hair was so long I had to lift it up before I sat, so that I wouldn't sit on it. I sat in the back of the room in my classes so that no one would step on it or pull it. It probably wasn't worth anything though, it was all of the dead/limp drug hair. I think that was my way of cutting my last ties to that part of my life (pun not intended).

Very cute cut Morigoon! :)

mousepod 07-31-2005 08:48 AM

Heather and I just checked out your pics. Very nice! The look totally suits you! It takes a brave person to make such a radical change... Kudos!

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 07-31-2005 09:11 AM

I think the new do is lovely. It totally suits you. Congrats!
