Laura Bush Talks about "Hurricane Karina"

Laura Bush went on Good Morning America on 9/14 to talk about 'Hurricane Karina" When asked about what her role would be, she immediatly shifted gears to try to point out "Those responsible for Hurricane 'karina' are trying to brand her husband a Racist"

Well Laura, IF you are talking about Hurricane KATRINA, Those Responsible would be God, Jesus, and Pat Robertson. Perhaps you should talk to them.

Just make sure your children are in school.

Learning to pronounce it, "nucular."

Gemini Cricket 09-15-2005 07:47 AM

Poor Laura. The air's thin up there in that ivory tower...
;)

PanTheMan 09-15-2005 08:55 PM

Mighty Thin.....Thin for MaMa Bush Barbara too...."Things have worked out rather well for them."

I say we dip them all in the Sh*twater in NOLA for a couple days and see if the Toxicity clears their heads...

wendybeth 09-15-2005 09:04 PM

Yeah, how many other people get to live in sports venues and have food and drink delivered to them free of charge? (Albeit a bit late). Those po' folks nevah had it so good.

Mrs. Bush Sr. must be so proud.....

Then you have Tom Delay's priceless words to some kids in one of the shelters...

Quote:

The congressman likened their stay to being at camp and asked, "Now tell me the truth boys, is this kind of fun?"
Yeah, losing everything you have, maybe even members of your family is fun, kinda like camping.

Is there anyone in the administration who hasn't put their foot in their mouth yet?

........Tom Delay is not a member of the Bush Administration.........

If my family was in a shelter for something like this I know I would be telling my Son every positive thing I could about this and I would hope any visiting leaders would do likewise. I don't think we want our leaders visiting these shelters saying things like "kid, you lost it all and the way you're living now really sucks".......do we?

Of course not. Some of these kids probably went without food or water for a few days though, among many other hardships. Asking them if they are having fun, strikes me as just a tad insensitive. Maybe it's just me.

Maybe; but I bet in the full context and how the kids were behaving(I have seen kids at homeless shelters and they play and run and have just as many fun adventures as those who have homes....more so in many cases since many kids who have homes are catatoniclally(sic) watching a tv) Delays words were much more appropriate then a well crafted sound-bite makes it sound.

....I will grant that he is for all practical purposes a honorary member of the admin. ;)

jdramj 09-16-2005 09:51 AM

Thank you sleepyjeff, that is what I was thinking.

You know Laura can say just about anything she likes....I don't remember voting for her. I will admitt just looking at the OP and not having seen the show or interview, it sounds like she is just on edge and probably felt the need to defend her husband. Let's face it, what press outlet has actually praised the president for his actions lately? She probably was just trying to steer away from any possibility of more bashing in the interview.

I'm sure you're absolutely right. But how does she defend him? By talking about "those responsible for Hurricane Katrina"? ??? She's fair game.

You know, pan, people can respectfully disagree with one another. Like the post of Scrooge immediately above yours. He disagrees with her, but doesn't mock her.

You, however, choose to mock her. Ironically, in your post where you mock jdramj and Bush (this isn't about mocking Bush), you do so by saying "nucalar Bushie" while at the same time misusing an apostrophe.

So rather than mocking the individual, of which there has been so little of on this board and one reason I like it here so much, why not just be polite in your discussion?

PanTheMan 09-16-2005 01:27 PM

Are you his mother?

Nope - simply a member of a community where respectful dialogue has always been the order of the day.

Glad we at least cleared THAT up......lol

On a side note, I have been referred to as a mother - but not her mother.

Besides Public Figures are fun to Mock.

scaeagles 09-16-2005 06:44 PM

No problem with the mocking of public figures.....or MBC, for that matter.

PanTheMan 09-17-2005 06:15 PM
