Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone! I guess I'm settling in, so I'll take a moment to add to the story...
Saturday was our 5-year anniversary, but as much as it might sound like this was a spontaneous trip, it was not. We've been engaged (no proposal -- it just came up in conversation) since 2003 and we've cancelled this around 15 times due to not having time!! We're kind of in shock that it has finally happened, it's been on the "to do" list for so long. We didn't go for an Elvis or drive-through wedding -- we wanted simple and sweet, and that's what we got. We found a chapel draped in jewel-tone velvets that reminded us of home. We had a civil/spiritual (non-denominational) ceremony that was surprisingly moving. The bride and groom both wore casual dark brown suits. No, not matching suits! He wore tennies with his, and I had a blue velvet scarf over mine. We'd brought totems (Yoda and Frankenstein figurines) and used them to decorate the table for our wedding dinner (our friends David and Kerry hosted, and had flown out to witness for us). We were only in Vegas for about 30 hours, but I am still exhausted. I'm glad my boss is on vacation so I can kind of zone out here at work...:D I'm still waiting for the pics... |
Yoda and Frankenstein! What a cute couple! ;)
Seriously, it sounds like it was awesome, and I'm so happy for you! So which LoT Swag did you register for? ;) |

My best friend lives in Couer D'Alene! Congrats Lizziebith! I wish you many happy years. |
Awesome! Happy for you both!!
|
Couer D'Alene's where I go when I miss the old Corkscrew from Knott's Berry Farm (it now operates at Silverwood)
|
I live in Coeur d'Alene! We have season passes to Silverwood and ride it quite often, though I did ride it at Knott's when I was about 15.
Didn't know I ranked so high on your list since I'm mostly a lurker Tracilicious ;) |
Yup- the good old CDA Hitching Post.....Haven for those who fear the ceremonial aspect of weddings. (And the fluffy white dresses).
