Haute Hounds

Well, I've misssed the Westminster Dog Show once again. Damn Olympics. But, once again, I want a floor mop of my very own.

I've never actually met one of these dogs, but I'm just sure they are wonderful. How couldn't they be?????

MickeyLumbo 02-15-2006 05:26 PM

Very cute dog! I, too, missed Westminster this year in favor of the Olympics.
And tonight, I'm torn, Project Runway or skating? I think it will be skating and I record the PR later (a train wreck that I just cannot stop watching)

Hot off CNN:

NEW YORK (AP) -- A canine contestant in this week's Westminster Kennel Club show escaped from its cage at John F. Kennedy International Airport and was believed to be on the loose in the surrounding area, authorities said

NA, you better not be involved with this....

Not Afraid 02-15-2006 07:31 PM

Oooh! Which dog was it? Maybe it is a breed I've been coveting.

I thought you were going to tell me the dog was wearing a CCCP shirt. ;)

Ive seen one. They're really really unusual and yeah....it definitely makes you want to touch it.
The fur feels like large ropes of braided yarn. Its really kind of  and they make this really odd flapping sound when they shake.

Puli dogs get all the pubicity photos. Ever since Beck's 'Odelay'. Media whores.
:D

I definitely watched the Westminster Dog show. I was rooting for the sassy, flirty Golden Retriever. I want a Golden Retriever. And at least 5 Labrador Retrievers. Oh yes, and a weiner dog.

I loved them all! I loved the Dalmatian (I used to have one. So high maintanance, but so loving :)) and I loved the little fella who reminded me of a goat. The Deerhound. Long skinny legs, little head. So precious.

I love the Bull Terrier. All nose. :)

I love puppies so much. Golly I miss my pumpkin. The pulis are darling. I always think of Gavin Rossdale & Gwen Stefani when I see one. They lost their poor beloved Winston. :(

I read way too many celebrity rags. :(

Gemini Cricket 02-16-2006 10:50 AM

Golden Retrievers are great dogs, very friendly. But they do shed shed shed. :)

Not Afraid 02-16-2006 10:56 AM

I'm on my way to walk a 17 year old Golden in a moment. Well, it's more of a crawl.

Today's breeds in the Not Afraid Dog Show are:
Peakenese
Golden REtriever
English Bulldog
Australlian Shepheard
:)

Gemini Cricket 02-16-2006 10:57 AM

English Bulldogs are so cool.
:)

Not Afraid 02-16-2006 11:01 AM

I'm actually in LOVE withe my English Bulldog. He's fat a lazy just like all of us. ;) His name is Dozer and he's a BABY! I'd get one in an instant but I'm not sure it would be fair to the cats.

Capt Jack 02-16-2006 11:03 AM

mutts. I like mutts.

I can relate to mutts. :D

Gemini Cricket 02-16-2006 11:07 AM

I wonder which one will win the Not Afraid Dog Show?
As a judge, NA will have to invest in a white cluster wig, costume jewelry and old lady clothes.
:D

Not Afraid 02-16-2006 11:07 AM

I already have the sensible shoes and fat ankles. ;)

A dog that won an award this week in the Westminster Kennel Club show escaped from its cage at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Wednesday and was believed to be on the loose in the surrounding area.

The dog, a whippet, broke free at about noon, said Tiffany Townsend, a spokeswoman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs area airports.

Gasp! Everyone count their dogs. Do you have an extra whippet around?
:D

Whippet! Whippet good!
