A typical day at Not Afraid's house

See the SHOCKING video for yourself!

Ghoulish Delight 02-16-2006 02:57 PM

Hehehe. I've seen a bunch of those before (I watch too much Animal Planet on mute). I think my favorite of the ones in that link is that cat attacking the toddler. Hillarious.

Scrooge McSam 02-16-2006 02:58 PM

I'm kinda partial to the butt-wiggle executed by the last kitty before storming the bag.

Snowflake 02-16-2006 03:09 PM

I enjoyed the little guy totally mis-judged how far the desk was. kitty-SPLAT
I felt bad for the poor kitten and the cactus

Motorboat Cruiser 02-16-2006 03:28 PM

see scaeagles, kitties are mellow pets.

Prudence 02-16-2006 04:34 PM

Sasha has executed that bathtub manouver.

Capt Jack 02-16-2006 04:36 PM

note: laser pointers are THE best cat toy ever. also very effective on smaller yappy type dogs. get one of those and a video camera and let the hilarity begin

Prudence 02-16-2006 05:02 PM

Boris will not play with the lase pointer! That damn cat is too smart for his own good. He sees the light moving on the wall and just looks back at me with that "what? I know it's you" look.

Ghoulish Delight 02-16-2006 05:04 PM

Ever since my in-law's told me their poor cat spent hours frantically seaching for the red dot after they played with it for a few minutes, I've felt kinda bad about doing the laser pointer trick...kinda.

Not Afraid 02-16-2006 07:07 PM

OH yeah. I've seen it all. It's a bit mellower since they are all adults, but not much.

blueerica 02-16-2006 08:22 PM

Oh wow... that was a hearty and much-needed laugh! :p

Kevy Baby 02-16-2006 08:49 PM

Cool!

They work with herding dogs, too. Frodo looooves the laser pointer Ralphie's father bought us.
:)

Ahhhh! I had a Boris and a Natsha! Back then, in the dark ages, we only had flashlights.

wendybeth 02-17-2006 09:30 PM

My Boris is from a Boris/Natasha team, but sadly Natasha left us a few years back.

Great video!

Prudence 02-17-2006 11:29 PM

We have a Boris and Sasha because my Bulgarian coworker was horrified that we would consider Natasha as a name. Apparently when Bulgarians tell ethnic jokes, they're typicaly about Russians and Natasha is Bulgarian shorthand for bimbo-slut.

MouseWife 02-18-2006 09:32 PM

Heck, even giant German Sheperds love the laser light! But, not to say he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed {perhaps it is his killer instinct determinded to get the red dot?} but he does spend a long time after searching for it.

The cat, well, she is quite the smart one. She knows where we keep it and when we put it down she tries to get the pen. What she loves more? The little sticks with the feathers hanging on the end of the string. She becames totally crazy! She doesn't cling onto anything the way she does that. The little mice, she lets us get and tease her with. But the feather, I wonder if she really thinks it is a bird?

We had a Boris cat. He was all black, the runt of the litter at the school and I snuck him home on the bus in a baby blanket. It was for my sis. She is the one who named him Boris. Her other cat was Igor. {or however you spell Eegore. Hmm. Maybe like that?}

Chickie had a Sid and Jonny set of rats...

We've simplified. Kitty is either Kitty or Kat. The dog is Sam.

And, actually, we had to stop doing the laser light for the dog. It just seemed so mean.

The cat, I make them stop when she seems to be breathing hard. Egads, don't want Kitty to have a heart attack! {has anyone ever heard of this???}

Not specifically, but I did have a cat that had a stroke. (Fortunatley, she was boarding at the vets when it happened - very quick recovery given her age at the time, and no lasting effects)

Kevy Baby 02-19-2006 09:03 AM

I was doing the deather chase with one one our cats and was getting to chase in circles. Got him to the point where he was so dizzy he couldn't stand up. He tried to walk, but kept staggering like a drunk. Very funny (nothin like a good laugh at you pet's misery).

Funny, but not as much fun as putting scotch tape on their paws.

MouseWife 02-19-2006 11:37 AM

Drince88~ Thanks for the heads up! I will remind them, as Kitty ages {she is only 9 months now} she can not do all that they want to do.

Kevy Baby & Moonliner~ Ha! Yes, this has happened to our kitty, too! Too damn funny! And, I forget what Kitty got on her but she went absolutely nuts when something was stuck on her. She ran all over the house...trying to get away from it.

I didn't do it. It wasn't me!!!

What was cool was when I had to have my pupils dilated. I looked like Kitty!! {she freaks me out when her eyes get like this, she is out of control at this point!}

Another amusing cat story:
'Monster' Cat In China Weighs 33 Pounds

--A 33-pound cat in Qingdao, China is being described as a "feline monster" because of its 31-inch waist and large size, according to a report.

--The 9-year-old cat from the Shandong Province is so heavy it needs the help of its owner to get onto a bed. However, the cat is surprisingly in good health despite its weight, Local 6 News reported.

--The cat's owner said it has no interest in eating fish but prefers to eat six pounds of chicken and pork each day.

We watched that video last night, Daniel. Humongo-cat!!!!!

Cadaverous Pallor 02-21-2006 05:29 PM

Blech. Letting your pet eat until he can't move isn't my idea of funny. "Surprisingly good health", riiight. Poor thing.

SIX POUNDS OF MEAT A DAY?!? That's not even healthy for a 200 lb. human, much less a cat of any size!

That cat caretaker should be arrested for animal negligence

I kinda thought the same thing, KB- but it is in China. Not exactly renowned for their human or animal rights....

alphabassettgrrl 02-21-2006 09:46 PM

Yeah, I was thinking I don't even eat that much food in one day- how can a cat?

Dang.
