Well, I can't say as I'll likely be as outraged by this as by the Pirates changes. Mostly, I will miss the floating musical instruments. However, if they change Madame Leota's incantation to match the new visuals - thus firing Eleanor Audley from the role - I will be distraught.

I'm pretty meh on the Black Widow storyline, but I have no resistance to changing the purported storyline of Master Gracey that has never been evident in the actual attraction.

Um, enough with the spoiler tags. What's the sense of a thread about spoilers where every post must be spoiler-tagged?

Hey, zap: The infamous Hatbox Ghost may not be returning after all.

From Al's description, it sounds like the purported perfection of the decapitated ghost illusion is going to be applied to a gaggle of the bride's ex-headed ex-husbands. I think rumors of the return of the H.B.G. may turn out to be a bit misdirected.

But there is a big fig...

How do you figure ?

CM's saw the Hat Box Ghost being installed & said the bride was going to be relocated as part of several 'upgrades' or 'surprises' during this refurbishment. Al's story fits in with the information the CM's were giving earlier in the month. Keep in mind, the Hat Box Ghost is a decapitated figure so it's not like he wouldn't fit in.

Oh, I agree he would fit in perfectly. Just that his signature illusion would be a bit redundant if he's the 12th attic ghost to be decapitated, with head appearing and disappearing. What's the point of having him do it, if every other guy in the attic is doing it?

I'd much rather see Hatbox G. than all the dead husbands in China, but perhaps the CM who saw an attic figure with the decapitation illusion mistook him for the H.B. Ghost (maybe never having seen the big fig in Disneyana for comparison).


I'm not saying he won't be there, just that I find it less likely since the same illlusion is supposedly being performed by many other ghosts in the same room.

Maybe the CM didn't know that what he was seeing was not the hatbox ghost. How many CM's don't know squat about Disneyland history?

Wendy got the scoop on the Hat Box Ghost.

He's in the attic but he's not full size. Supposedly there are still technical issues with the full sized one but that could change in a little more time. She confirmed everything else that Al mentioned in his update. She's going to a cast member preview on Monday so I'll know more by then.
