Although I did check them out and hijacked a few songs. I may purchase a CD... maybe even possibly think about the idea of going to the show.

It's looking like I will too. GusGus is out of town until Saturday night and I am just not looking forward to going home to an empty house again.

Man, did that place start jumping once Ursula hit the stage!

He's an amazing DJ and mash-up artist. Stuff that you won't hear on his recordings included a hot version of Sweet Transvestite, a mash-up of Light My Fire and Evil Woman, and a surprisingly well-matched mash up of Madonna's "Hung Up", New Order's "Blue Monday" and more of Abba's Gimme Gimme Gimme".

There also was a profuse use of familiar tracks from my own teen and pre-teens years. Lyrics such as "Paranoia may distroy ya" made me scramble for a band name to place on the lyrics (The Kinks) and a Disney homage with dialog and music from Aladdin.

I was amused, fascinated, and enerized for a good 2 hours.

Oh, who brought the Japanese triplets who suddenly appeared in our seats?

I'm glad you can recall all the minutia: I just recall one two-hour long orgasm of music. He is absolutely amazing! Whether I was engaged in my spasmodic flailing that might have resembled dancing or sitting down with my eyes closed allowing myself to melt into the sound and experience - I was in a state of ecstacy (without the use of drugs - just a drink and a half).

I also remember the jungle mix of "These Boots Were Made for Walkin" rocked.

Two solid hours of seamless joy.

Also, if you would like to check out Ursula 1000, there are two tracks available from the "Kinda Kinky" album as well as a one-hour long set (labeled "Mega-Mix) which was recorded live in the Fall of 2005. Just go to the Media section of the Ursula 100 web site.

The Video for one of y favorite songs, Kinda Kinky, is fantastic and worth a download.

We ended up there, through the kindness of one Mr. Baby...and if I'd known how great it was going to be I would have paid my own way.

I haven't danced like that in a long time. The man knows his beats. Seamless mixes in seemingly clashing styles left me breathless. The club went wild.

If there was music like that near me on an average weekend, I wouldn't have to exercise.

So glad it was fun for all. So sorry I missed.

I believe tickets are still available for Coachella....

One of the local radio stations is giving away a trip to Coachella. Unfortunately, I always miss when it's time to call in to qualify.

Somehow the hot, crowded, filthy, faraway desert of Coachella does not tempt me in quite the same way as the nearby, swanky nightclub of Santa Monica.

I would not use the word filthy to describe our Coachella experience last year. There was grass to sit on, so not dust clouds or anything.

Nice grazzy field, lots of room so it's easy to get away from the throngs, mere 2 hour drive (and a swanky hotel to stay at), and the heat was not too bad last year. It's a blast!

I will take last year as an abberation, then.


I have been following Coachella thru traveler's tales for many years.


(Mind you, everyone I've ever talked with has said it's a blast, but their description of events has varied - with hot, crowded and dusty being the most used verbiage .... besides awesome.)

Well, I don't know how it could be dusty with all of that grass. Even the parking lot is grass. Crowded, yes, if you're in the mix and hot has varried. At least it is dry heat. Even I can handle that.

How cool would that be if you won? You must keep trying.

Believe me iSm, this set up is a picnic compared to the filth I've dealth with in the past.

As for crowded - you've been to Disneyland, right? ;)

Yeah, well ... mouseadventure is that weekend. And with a certain team going to Coachella, abject humiliation is possible for my team to avoid!

I have had fun at DCA. Usually I was with iSm and Zapp... but I've had fun. Rolling down the rope bridges comes to mind.

MA is the entire DLR for the harder level.

Our first MA win was at DCA Mad Scramble, I think.

Hmm, as I recall, we placed for the first time at a DCA Mad Scramble (2nd), our first victory was at a Disneyland Mad Scarmble (with an abject defeat during a Disneyland Classic in between).

You guys are the He-man and Shera of MA. Except I think they were siblings and that would be kinda ikky.

You guys will be gone, EuroMonkey and team won't be playing. That's two teams. We came in 32nd... maybe we can come in 29th now. :D

I'd say it's our goal to beat the Denton Affair, but we like to aim higher :p
