How many bars at DL?

No, I'm not counting anything outside of Disneyland.

This list is inspired by the list of "parks" at DL - the car park in Autopia is one of them - and the fact that every time I ride Mr. Toad's I think, "I just went through a bar, how weird is that." I wrote a list elsewhere but can't find it at the moment, so this is off the top of my head.

The basic rule is "wherever it appears that alcohol would be served."

Winky's Bar in Mr. Toad's
The Ink and Paint Club in the queue for Roger Rabbit
Pirates, where skeletons drink glowing ale
There's a cantina in Pirates too
BTMRR has a saloon
Shooting Gallery has a saloon, I believe
Golden Horseshoe has a pretty legit looking bar
Pleasure Island on Pinocchio's Daring Journey

Do you count the bars of yesterland? Bear Country once had the "Mile Long Bar" - or something like that?

Sure, why the hell not. Was this an actual place to buy drinks (obviously not alcoholic, but still)?

MerryPrankster 01-26-2005 11:45 AM

Isn't there a wet bar in the Darling kids' nursery? ;)

Winky's Bar in Mr. Toad's is my fave!!

why yes, it was a bar flanked by two mirrors - to give it that endless hallway effect. Colas and other nonalcoholic beverages were sold there, in the usual Disney spirt (or non-spirit I suppose).

Last time I flew over London in Peter Pan's Flight, I'm sure I saw a pub. I believe it was the second flourescent dot to the right. ;)

Hehe, when CP and I began pondering this, that's what I said too.

Cadaverous Pallor 01-26-2005 12:33 PM

Didn't you two have a nearly identical post before? I'm getting way weirded out over here. :p

There have got to be more bars...

Darkbeer 01-26-2005 01:31 PM

Does the Mint Julep Bar count?

Good call.

Isn't the Mos Eisley cantina in one of the "promo" films in the Star Tours queue?
From America Sings in Yesterland, practically the entire Gay '90's sequence: the drunken goose quartet, the "Bill Bailey" pig, and "Where is My Wandering Boy, Tonight? (Down in the Licensed Saloon)" Oh, and (hic) Goes the Weasel!

How 'bout the French dance hall in Small World (did I just blow your mind?)

Not Afraid 01-26-2005 02:30 PM

Figures YOU would know where the bars are! ;)

Gn2Dlnd 01-26-2005 02:33 PM

Ha!

Ghoulish Delight 01-26-2005 02:36 PM

What about implied bars? As in, you KNOW there's a bar inside the river boat at the end of Splash Mountain (heck, some of those birds have clearly spent the afternoon there), whether you can see it or not.

Gn2Dlnd 01-26-2005 02:50 PM

There's a REAL bar inside the REAL Mark Twain.

I just remembered.

Gn2Dlnd 01-26-2005 02:54 PM

And the cash register in the Disney Gallery is ON a bar.

Cadaverous Pallor 01-26-2005 02:56 PM

Ok, calm down there freaks and geeks. :p

Bear Country's Mile Long Bar

Small World's Moulin Rouge
Splash Mountain's river boat

Hmm, don't know if I want to count just a mention of a bar, such as a bit of film featuring Mos Eisley or singing about a bar in America Sings. Places like the river boat and the French strip club for dolls are places that always have alcohol, so I'm counting 'em.

Cadaverous Pallor 01-26-2005 02:59 PM

And Gn2 is really pushing it. :p

Gn2Dlnd 01-26-2005 03:11 PM

Ok, fine. So the little refrigerator and sink behind the counter (bar) in the Disney Gallery don't indicate a wet bar. It's just handy for CMs to keep their lunch and wash their hands after handling all those dirty, dirty AP discounts.
But, the Mark Twain does have a bar on the second floor.

call me pushy, I'll show you pushy

Scrooge McSam 01-26-2005 03:15 PM

Doesn't Club 33 have a bar, or are they just dining rooms? I bet they have a service bar, if not a traditional one

Ghoulish Delight 01-26-2005 03:18 PM

I don't recall seeing an actual bar, though you can order drinks. But we were kind of limiting it to places accessible by the general public.

Scrooge McSam 01-26-2005 03:18 PM

Gottcha

Darkbeer 01-26-2005 03:25 PM

Club 33 does not have a bar, there is a drink station in the Kitchen where all drinks are made, then delivered to your table. Trust me, I have looked for it more than once.... :D

Gemini Cricket 01-26-2005 05:31 PM

I'm not sure where they got their drinks from, but ghosts in the ballroom and ghosts in the graveyard are all clutching wine glasses and such...
I don't remember a bar in the Haunted Mansion though...
:D
