If you are in New Zealand, RUN FOR IT!
Mag 8.0 Quake, that's a big one. Possible Sumani heading for New Zealand.
I'm off to search for some live webcams... |
Holy sh!t!
 |
 yikes. Hope our Kiwi friends are okay
|
I read that Fiji has about 30 minutes.....yikes. New Zealand has about 90. However, nothing is confirmed. It is a warning based on where the epicenter was.
|
Awww crap. Be safe Kiwis.
|
Apparently it's dark in Fiji. Drat.
|
I read a little more. I guess it happened closest to Tonga, and so far Tonga is reporting that there is no damage or reports of a tsunami. I would figure, then, if Tonga is OK, there is probably no tsunami. Here's hoping.
|
Hope Uvagirl and whomever else in NZ is ok!
|
I found a streaming New Zealand radio station. So far they are covering Football. Of course being New Zealand it's not like they would interrupt football coverage for something as trivial as possible mass destruction.
|
Keep in mind that destructive tsunamis are very rare so while New Zealand (and Hawaii) are on alert odds are that absolutely nothing will happen.
|
2 Meter Tsuami, not destructive.
All alerts cancled - Radio New Zealand. Gotta love streaming audio... |
Still, I know a lot of people in New Zealand.
I hope everything turns out ok.... scary stuff. |
Yeah, I was just told it was cancelled.
That pleases me. |
Humm... News in the Internet age...
I dropped in on a Tonga chat room and guess what I found? A UsNews reporter looking for Tonga locals. |
Turned out to be nothing:eek:
I only heard about it when I got to work this morning - several hours after it would have hit up north (nowhere near where I am, but still...) |
In this case, nothing is good.
:) |
So is Tonga Toast?
|
OMG! That was so PAINFUL!
|
Somewhere, he who no longer posts is grinning in appreciation
|
Or bent over in pain... :p
