Some Swanky Dogs

Please feel free to moan and groan. Nothing's more absurd than bulldogs in "outfits". I'm uploading more as I post.

But, they are sort of cute.

Ghoulish Delight 05-15-2006 03:13 PM

I've forwarded this thread on to the ASPCA...

Matterhorn Fan 05-15-2006 03:13 PM

I hereby swear that I wll not do that to my doggie.

No, my dog will never wear a pink swimsuit and pearls. A bandanna, maybe.

ETA: The front of the suit is on the back of that dog!

Not Afraid 05-15-2006 03:16 PM

This is just damn cute.

Matterhorn Fan 05-15-2006 03:21 PM

Here's some more swanky dogs: http://www.weinerdograces.com/

scaeagles 05-15-2006 03:22 PM

That is danged sickening, NA (referring to the first one. Second one is awesome.)

Not Afraid 05-15-2006 03:22 PM

He was a funny funny dog.

Not Afraid 05-15-2006 03:29 PM

Someone needs to write captions. ;)

Not Afraid 05-15-2006 03:30 PM

Annie's happy I didn't put her in clothing.

Not Afraid 05-15-2006 03:31 PM

I want one of THESE!

scaeagles 05-15-2006 03:32 PM

I'm afraid I can no longer visit this thread because I feel ill...........could you put the cute ones with no clothes in a separate thread, please?

Not Afraid 05-15-2006 03:32 PM

You talking to me?

Matterhorn Fan 05-15-2006 03:33 PM

Awwwwww.

Must get dog.

Not Afraid 05-15-2006 03:58 PM

Huggy Bear?

The King?

Not Afraid 05-15-2006 04:00 PM

Hawaii was a popular theme for bulldogs.

Not Afraid 05-15-2006 04:01 PM

This little guy's name is Peanut. He's very small compared to the 200 other dogs that were there.

Yes, 200 bulldogs and I'm still not tired of them.

Disneyphile 05-16-2006 02:34 PM

I LOVE bulldogs!!! This makes me love them even more. Except for the first one. ;)

Cadaverous Pallor 05-16-2006 04:21 PM

You can do anything you want to them and they don't move.

Bulldogs: The furniture of the dog world.

Not Afraid 05-16-2006 04:39 PM

Bulldogs are a bit like Charlie. They art sort of fat, lazy headonistic like Chris and I. I think that's why I love them so.

I take care of many different dog breeds and, somehow, the Bulldog has sort of found it's way into my heart.

My other surprise is that I have a Pomeranian that I just adore. Pons are NOT my favorite breed, but this little guy is a sweetheart.

€uroMeinke 05-16-2006 06:48 PM

One thing I have to say about Bulldogs is they seem to suffer from some sort of labored breathing disorder which is about as close to purring as a dog can get. The fact that dogs don't purr frustrates me.

Disneyphile 05-17-2006 12:12 PM

That settles it. Once we have a place with a yard, we're so adopting a bulldog. I can just imagine all the costumes I'd make for him. ;)

Not Afraid 05-17-2006 12:19 PM

I will be over at your house ALL the time!

Heehee - the idea that a breathing disorder makes you happy cracks me up ;)

CoasterMatt 05-17-2006 01:14 PM

I think it'd be fun to have a midget dogsled pulled by bulldogs dressed as malamutes.

alphabassettgrrl 05-17-2006 01:35 PM

About the only dog more furniture-like than a bulldog is a basset hound. :) NA, thanks for posting those pics, they are so adorable. 200 dogs and you're not tired of them? I can't say I would be either.

hehe....Do you know about the guy who ran poodles in the Iditarod? He eventually gave up because, although poodles are certainly capable of running that race, they just don't want to run as much as Alaskan huskies. Still, pretty funny.

Not Afraid 05-17-2006 08:33 PM

Bulldogs would run MY kind in Iditarod.

We'd just sit in a sled by a roaring fire all comfy and cozy.

There was someone there who was icing her bulldog. Maybe it's true.

SzczerbiakManiac 05-18-2006 10:24 AM

I wonder if I have English Bulldog ancestry...

Was the dog dressed up like a birthday cake? :D

I'm kidding, I know what you meant.

Not Afraid 05-18-2006 12:18 PM

For whatever reason, I'm now singing MacArthur Park.

Awwww, would you like us to ice you down?

Not Afraid 05-18-2006 07:07 PM

I bet he's likde GD to ice him down.

CoasterMatt 05-18-2006 07:08 PM

Dammit NA!! Now I'm singing "Someone left the cake out in the rain!!!"

Matterhorn Fan 05-19-2006 08:33 AM

I saw some swanky dogs yesterday, but couldn't get pictures.

The happiest dogs on earth are just outside the entrance to EPCOT at the end of the day.

I would not be adverse to that.

We had the opportunity to finally meet my cousin's dogs. Two very large labs - Zeus (black) and Bailey (brown). Utterly and completely untrained. Do not enter their home unless you want to be slobbered upon within an inch of your life. Even when "calm" there was much slobbering as Bailey felt that we both needed baths. Or at least our clothes did. Much licking of the pants and shoes.

My aunt's dogs, on the other hand, are polar opposites. Rather than intense, overwhelmin friendliness in giant packages, they are vicious killer wanna-bes in toy cihuahua and pomeranian packages. I have never seen a dog that small in a muzzle.

wendybeth 05-21-2006 12:34 PM

Our little dog, a Yorkie-Pekie, is a vicious, nasty-tempered beastie. Our big dog, Mellie, is a huge love-bug. She sounds incredibly ferocious when people come to the door, but the only danger they face is a big slobber-fest. My sis-in-law has a huge Rott named Damien, but he's just a big smoochy dog as well. He also loves to chew on rocks.:D

Thei is for MatterhornFan:

I walked a 5 month old wire-haired Dauchund/SomesortofTerrier mix today. Cutest little thing. You need one just like him.

If I see him tomorrow, I'll try and take a pic.

Matterhorn Fan 05-31-2006 03:58 PM

I so need a picture of that dog. Is he a wirehaired dachshund or a mix?

Not Afraid 05-31-2006 07:03 PM

He's a mix with some sort of terrier. But, he's cute.

Matterhorn Fan 05-31-2006 07:37 PM

I need pictures!

Not Afraid 05-31-2006 07:39 PM

I will try to get some tomorrow when I walk him again.

Not Afraid 06-01-2006 06:18 PM

This is Oscar. He's actually only about 3 months old according to the vet. If that is the case, he's going to get quite a bit bigger then he is now.

mousepod 06-01-2006 06:45 PM

That is the third cutest dog I have seen.

Not Afraid 06-01-2006 06:48 PM

I call him Scrappy. He's adorable.

Matterhorn Fan 06-01-2006 08:03 PM

Will you steal him for me and mail him to me? I promise to take really, really good pictures of him.

;)

What about your cat?

Not Afraid 06-01-2006 08:10 PM

He was picked up at the Adoption Center at the Sunday Farmer's Market. There are sweetiepies to be had out there that need a home. Poor little tyke.

They had puppies at the FLEA MARKET near me. But they were being sold, not adopted. Poor puppies.

Dogs don't seem to me to be something one should be selling at a flea market.
