Aloha.....again.
hey everyone! I am posting from the Honolulu international airport while I wait another 4 hours for my flight to Kona. Fun. This is my first time in Hawaii, so I'm excited to even just be in the airport (which is why I'm posting on here  )
Anyways, I'm staying at the very swanky Fairmont Orchid Hotel. I'll be back Monday night. Yay!!!! |

Have fun. And please write a trip report. I want some pointers for my hawaii trip.
Only four months and one week left until our trip.. :D |
Crazy! My flight to Maui leaves in 9 hours. I'll be gone 'til Feb 6. I hope there's some high-speed access in or around our hotel - I want to stay in touch and maybe do a remote podcast.
If I can't connect... happy groundhog day in advance! SYRS, J |
Aloha Alisa and Jesse,

Actually, she left Jesse at home. And believe me, she SO deserves this! (Not that Jesse isn't a great guy, he is! I've even been known to refer to him as my second Mom!) Have a blast Alisa! While you literally (yes, literally!) make me sick that you get to go and I don't, I'm so glad you are finally getting a break! Not that you were asking for one, but hey, it doesn't hurt to take one! I miss you lots, but know you are having a great time! Take lots of pics for me to see next weekend when you head up this way! :) Oh, and PLEASE tell me you remembered to steal an ice bucket from the hotel.... |

Hey all,
Sitting here in our room at the Maui Sheraton on Black Rock - watching the whales jump. Very nice. The hotel has T-Mobile WiFi, so I might be doin' my weekly thing tonight or tomorrow. My only regret is that I left "Hawaiianette" at home (although a certain spouse is delighted that I left it behind). Thanks for the good wishes. SYRS, Jesse |
Haaa. Hawaiianette... you crack me up Jesse. Hope you're having fun in Maui!

(Hawaiianette is the ONLY CD I hate having in my house. Heebeejeebees anyone?) And, what is this about Whales jumping? What kind of whales? Are they just leaping out of the water? Can I come stay with you? |
Humpback whales. Hundreds of 'em.
This is the time of year when the baby whales learn how to do whale stuff (these are official scientific terms, people). Their natural exuberance spills out all over the place. They splash, they leap, they breach. Pretty awe-inspiring stuff, really. (and we do have two beds in our room...) SYRS, Jesse |
WOW! Too bad I'm sick. I'd be right over.
Breach. That was one of the words I was looking for. |
I'm back!! I'm nice and tan and so relaxed. :)
Mickeylumbo, you threw me off for a second there. My husband's name is Jesse and when you posted I was trying to think when you had ever met my husband or even met me, for that matter!! :D Our hotel was beautiful!! We stayed here It was really secluded, so we spent most of our time there just relaxing on the beach. We had a private luau and the food was deeee-licious. Fruit is 10x better in Hawaii! The weather was perfect, we were in our swimsuits at 11 pm and loving it. Saw lots of turtles and whales. Visited Paul Mitchell's Awapuhi farm, we were supposed to go over to his Bali house, but we ran out of time. Anyways, I had a lot of fun, but didn't get to do all the typical hawaiian vacation stuff that I wanted to. I am going to have to go back and visit very soon! |
sorry about the confusion. but so glad you had a great time. look forward to meeting you someday soon.:)
