Tonight's movie will be

The Aristocats! I've not seen this since my Dad took me and my sister to see it so many years ago. Tonight, me & Tango on the couch :D

Hah, nice. I think you're gonna enjoy that one.

If we're good and get our cleaning done and I'm not absorbed with loading my iPod (yes, it arrived...with gifts :tiki: :birdy: ), we've got either Requiem of a Dream of Castaway to watch.

I found a post card from Grauman's Chinese Theater in an antique storeyesterday and THE JUNGLE BOOK was what was on the marquee. Of course I bought it!

But, now I'm singing my scales and my arpeggios.

Follow it up with The Aristocrats for a nice change of pace.

Heh, oops. That's what I thought she posted in the first place...that's a rather important 'r' there, isn't it.

Loved it! So did Tango

Aristocats is the only animated Disney film where the cats aren't villans. I'm not counting the Big Cats, though.

Not quite - Figaro is hardly villainous. And Sergeant Tibbs from 101 Dalmatians is one of the good guys.

Not Afraid 06-16-2006 11:28 PM

Alright Mr. geekier than thou. ;) You're right, of course.

Yeah, but how realistic is that- a cat taking orders from a dog? As if.

Alex 06-16-2006 11:38 PM

How realistic is a non-evil cat? Not very.

wendybeth 06-16-2006 11:43 PM

Two out of three cats in my household are very sweet. The other one is secretly sweet, but only to me, and only when she wants something.

Out od my six, one is grumpy, one is high strung at times and the other 4 are as sweet as strawberries in season.

Tonights movies will be...

Nanny McPhee and/or Narnia.

Oh, is McPhee on DVD now? Love Emma Thompson, so must visit the netflix queue.

Tonight's movie, speaking of Emma Thompson, Sense and Sensibility, while I wrap dishware for boxes ensconced comfortably on the couch.

You know, my social life suck right now, but then I think about it, the only difference in SF will be, movie nights at my place (with invited guests) and then out to The Castro and The Stanford. If only I could make a decent living at this!

CoasterMatt 06-17-2006 03:04 PM

Tonight's movie lineup -

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band followed by The Black Hole

Tonight is Miazaki night!

Cool! Which one? I know I've been living under a rock, but I only discovered him about 6 months back. WONDERFUL animation and I love the stories.

Alex 06-17-2006 04:06 PM

If you haven't seen it, seek out Porco Rosso. It is wonderful and one of the less known titles in the United States.

We were with a group of virgins so we watched Totoro. I think that's the 4th time I've seen it and I am still not in the least bored. But, Mei does become less irritating.

innerSpaceman 06-18-2006 09:52 AM

And, thanks in part to Miyazaki night, zapppop was treated to three excellent animated films that he'd never seen before. The delightful fluff of "Totorro" (or is it Snowtorro?) and the weighty stuff of "Princess Mononoke". Plus he and I watched "The Iron Giant" the night before.

I don't think zapppop had ever been exposed to such an excellent onslaught of non-Disney/Pixar animated film.
