Happy Birthday Enchanted Tiki Room.
|
This past trip was the first time I had ever entered the Tiki Room. I'm sure I could get flamed for this, but....here goes.
Yawn. The characters were boring. The music was boring. Watching audioanimatronic birds tilt their heads open and close their beaks was less than impressive. My four year old summed it up best when we left the attraction after the show completed. She said, "OK. That was really wierd for me.". |
I knew there was a reason I was compeled to wear my Enchanted Tiki Room shirt today

Hoever he knows that Mommy loves it, and it has a/c, and he gets to eat a dole whip while he's in there. (And he remembers all of Mommy's crazy friends being in there with him) But yes, if he's not with me, or commenting to people in the real world, he says that same exact thing. |
My munchkin LOVES it. One year for her birthday we had to go four times in one day, which was a bit much. We went yesterday. It's cool, you can sit down, dole, whips, cheesey songs that stick in your head for days, what's not to like??

I love Tiki Room.

Tiki Room is the best place to nap

You know, it's one of those places at Disneyland that people love or they hate it. And boy, people love to hate it. Like IASW, the song gets stuck in their head and would rather go to the Begle Bar-B-Q and have a skewer stuck through their head. I love it, but because I've been going to it since it first opened, and it's a strong since of history. Not to mention that it was the fore runner to POTC. The success of Mr. Lincoln and IASW (a water ride with large guest capacity) at the worlds fair, and then the extensive use of AA in the Tiki Room spurred Walt into going from a walk -through Pirates Musium to the ride we have today. That's why it is so important to me. Well, that and I love Tikis!!
So Happy Birthday Tiki Room! :tiki: ~Bob |
I LOVE the Tiki Room.
And I misread "muchkin" as "Munchykins" in katiesue's post, and thought for a moment about how she got to take someone else's new bunny to the park a year ago. Then I realized that's not what she typed. Did I mention I love the Tiki Room? |
We waved at the Tiki room and wished it a happy 41st birthday as we walked past it this evening.

I LOVE the original Tiki Room.
But the last time I went to the Tiki Room Under New Management was only because I was with people that hadn't seen it (and one has fond memories of the original). |
I love the Tiki Room, too. I even sorta love the one in Japan. I have a big problem with the one in WDW, though. The "Under New Management" version only works if a) you remember the original version and b) really want to hear Gilbert Gottfried sing Aladdin songs. I dread introducing my family to the Tiki Room this summer in Florida. Maybe I can make everyone come to California for a half-day first, so they can see the real Tiki Room (and PotC... and IASW...)...
Happy Birthday to the Tiki Room. |

When I first saw Under New Management, I expected it to suck, and I expected to dislike it. I was not, however, expecting to be so insulted by it. FYI, whenever I mention the Tiki Room, I'm talking about Disneyland's. There is no Tiki Room in Florida. P.S. IASW looks pretty good here. They did a nice job on the refurb. It's not the same as Disneyland's, but it's much better. |
I wondered about the Under New Management. It sounded funny, but now I don't think I'll ever care to see it (if I ever made it to FL that is).

I guess it's worth seeing just to see. There must be someone who likes it. Besides, there's never a line, and there is air conditioning.
|
It's worth seeing once so you can say you've seen it. It's not as awful as, say, Sounds Dangerous. you j ust would never need to see it again.
