I am Ultranerd, hear me wheeze!

http://www.ubersite.com/m/88634

I got 18.

scaeagles 06-29-2006 04:46 PM

I only scored 9. GD is officially twice the nerd I am.

JWBear 06-29-2006 04:53 PM

I got a 13! Woo-hoo! (where's my pocket protector?)

Ghoulish Delight 06-29-2006 04:55 PM

I stand corrected. 17. There was one I thought I recognized, but realized I don't. So that's 8 I enjoy, 1 I recognize, and one I don't. Wow.

flippyshark 06-29-2006 04:57 PM

Given how TV oriented that was, I only scored a 10. I'm thinking Not Afraid is going to score even lower than that. And yet, could she truly not be a nerd?

CoasterMatt 06-29-2006 04:58 PM

I scored 13...

but I'm a specialized ultra nerd - I got more than 20 email messages asking if I heard about a kid dying at RnRC today...

Stan4dSteph 06-29-2006 04:59 PM

8

Alex 06-29-2006 05:03 PM

I only got 12. But I'm not sure why liking MST3K makes you a nerd. In my experience it probably makes you annoying (not because the shows are annoying but because people came to think that them doing the same thing is inherently funny).

Besides, not enough points are given for where my nerdiness and it intersect. Not only do I "enjoy" Quantum Leap but I remember who played god (that is, Al the bartender, as played by Bruce McGill) in the final episode and can launch into a compare and contrast discourse of that actor's character (Jack Dalton) on Macguyver while discounting both of his single-episode appearance on Star Trek Voyager and Babylon 5. Surely that i worth more than 2 points.

FEJ 06-29-2006 05:20 PM

nuh-nuh-nuh-nineteen..
nineteen
nuh-nuh-nuh-nineteen..

I don't enjoy playing Magic

I would say so.

Disneyphile 06-29-2006 05:27 PM

I got 17, and there wasn't a single one that I did not at least recognize.

You must tell me this in November.

Mousey Girl 06-29-2006 05:39 PM

14

Andrew 06-29-2006 05:51 PM

13. I didn't recognize 1, 4, or 5, but of the ones I did recognize I enjoyed all but one.

Ghoulish Delight 06-29-2006 05:55 PM

So who's the lightning guy (and I don't enjoy Magic)?

Gemini Cricket 06-29-2006 06:01 PM

9.

The lightning guy is Electro from Spiderman. :)

Ghoulish Delight 06-29-2006 06:06 PM

Aha, I knew it was from Spiderman. Looked too much like the Green Goblin, style-wise, to not be. I just didn't know the character. Do I at least get half a point for that? (wait, what am I arguing for here?)

Prudence 06-29-2006 06:15 PM

12. And I'd like to mention that I've been to two Weird Al concerts, including one where I was in the forth row back at a venue in Bellingham, the name of which escapes me, but in which there was no huge gap between the front row and stage, and during which I caught the plastic cup tossed into the audience after gargling during Smells Like Nirvana, which my mother threw away when helping me move because clearly a plastic cup in a place of prominence on someones display shelf must be random garbage to be thrown away without asking.

Not that I'm bitter.

tracilicious 06-29-2006 06:45 PM

I got 13.

Snowflake 06-29-2006 07:33 PM

8 and they consider this normal?

innerSpaceman 06-29-2006 07:44 PM

Hahahah, I scored only a three. Apparently, I live in a box.

Too bad that I'm actually a mega-nerd, but this lame quiz focused on tv and comics. Hardly the only nerdliness out there. Sheesh, my Disneygeekdom alone catapults me to the top of the nerdosphere, to say nothing of my Star Trek, Star Wars, Monty Python, and Beatles fandoms. Lordy, this quiz was way, way off.

Matterhorn Fan 06-29-2006 08:44 PM

I'm only slightly nerdy, according to this.

SzczerbiakManiac 06-29-2006 08:55 PM

18

CoasterMatt 06-29-2006 09:05 PM

wow... he's a nerd AND he's infected with "the gay"...

YOU RAWK!!

Pshaw. I've got all that AND the TV/Comic book nerdiness. :p

innerSpaceman 06-29-2006 09:56 PM

Oh for cryin' out loud, do I have to pedal my Lord of the Rings geekdom???

Am I just a yesternerd? :(

wendybeth 06-29-2006 09:58 PM

Lol! I got a twelve, but I suspect my nerd-factor would have been much higher if the quiz included iSm's criteria. I think Eric would score much higher than me on this one.

CoasterMatt 06-29-2006 10:03 PM

I think iSm would detonate the Nerd-O-Meter...

Just so a geek like me could rebuild it :D

Cadaverous Pallor 06-29-2006 11:25 PM

This is definitely a biased quiz, but I got a 13, so I'm not complaining too loudly. Just nerdy enough to be cool, and just cool enough to be nerdy. At least, so far as I figure.

DisneyFan25863 06-30-2006 12:10 AM

I only got a 9...but I would consider that good considering most of those shows were off the air before I was born.

I like this test much better: http://www.nerdtests.com/ft_nq.php
Quote:

Overall, you scored as follows:
5% scored higher (more nerdy), and
95% scored lower (less nerdy).

What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

All hail the monstrous nerd. You are by far the SUPREME NERD GOD!!!

CoasterMatt 06-30-2006 06:18 AM

Overall, you scored as follows:

16% scored higher (more nerdy), and
84% scored lower (less nerdy).

What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

High-Level Nerd. You are definitely MIT material, apply now!!!.

innerSpaceman 06-30-2006 07:28 AM

Nope, I'm not a nerd on the sciencegeek test either.

What am I doing here??

Stan4dSteph 06-30-2006 08:02 AM

44% scored higher (more nerdy), and
56% scored lower (less nerdy).

Your nerdiness is:

Somewhat nerdy. I mean face it, you are nerdier than about half the test takers.

Ghoulish Delight 06-30-2006 08:07 AM

12% scored higher (more nerdy), and
88% scored lower (less nerdy).
What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

High-Level Nerd. You are definitely MIT material, apply now!!!.

Ouch, they really know how to rub salt in those wounds. MIT was the one and only school that said no to me :(

lashbear 06-30-2006 08:15 AM

I'm an idiot and I live in a box (3 - thanks to Dr Who & a vaguely familiar star trek episode called I think 'the trouble with twiddles' ?!?)

Ghoulish Delight 06-30-2006 08:16 AM

Tribbles.

MIT hasn't said no to me..yet! :P maybe I should apply. and yes...nerds are known salt rubbers... :P

Stan4dSteph 06-30-2006 09:13 AM

Only nerds apply to MIT.

Apparently I am an idiot that lives in a box. :)

I'd be worse off if they showed anything else BUT Tribbles.

Ghoulish Delight 06-30-2006 11:12 AM

Anyone who scored high on the original quiz really should be watching Robot Chicken on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim. Never fails to crack me up.

Not Afraid 06-30-2006 11:22 AM

Second quiz:
71% scored higher (more nerdy), and
29% scored lower (less nerdy).

What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

Not nerdy, but definitely not hip.

Morrigoon 06-30-2006 11:36 AM

11... slightly nerdy

Your "nerd" became mainstream dude.

Morrigoon 06-30-2006 11:52 AM

Second test:

scaeagles 06-30-2006 12:06 PM

71% scored higher (more nerdy), and
29% scored lower (less nerdy).

What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

Not nerdy, but definitely not hip.

Scariest part......I have the exact same score on the second test as NA.

Cadaverous Pallor 06-30-2006 12:30 PM

Ooh, GD and Uber had the exact same score! I think we need a geek-off

I stopped halfway through DF's nerd test because I knew I couldn't measure up. Freakin' nerds! :p

tracilicious 06-30-2006 12:41 PM

I only got slightly nerdy on the second test, but I probably should have gotten extra points for the canned air question. I would have used it at the beginning of a hardcore run on a stat day to speed up level gains.

I prefer geek, really.

tracilicious 06-30-2006 12:53 PM

I like the geek quiz

Final Score:
You are 42% geek You are a geek liaison, which means you go both ways. You can hang out with normal people or you can hang out with geeks which means you often have geeks as friends and/or have a job where you have to mediate between geeks and normal people. This is an important role and one of which you should be proud. In fact, you can make a good deal of money as a translator.
Normal: Tell our geek we need him to work this weekend.

You [to Geek]: We need more than that, Scotty. You'll have to stay until you can squeeze more outta them engines!

Geek [to You]: I'm givin' her all she's got, Captain, but we need more dilithium crystals!

You [to Normal]: He wants to know if he gets overtime.

Not Afraid 06-30-2006 01:04 PM

Final Score:

You are 25% geek
OK, so maybe you ain't a geek. You do, at least, show a bit of interest in the world around you. Either that, or you have enough of a sense of humor to pick some of the sillier answers on the test. Regardless, you're probably a pretty nifty, well-rounded person who gets along fine with people and can chat with just about anyone without fear of looking stupid or foolish or overly concerned with minutiae. God, I hate you.

At least I show interest with this one rather than living in a box.

Cadaverous Pallor 06-30-2006 01:29 PM

Only 21%! I'm all depressed now. Apparently I've become more socially adjusted in recent years. :p

Ghoulish Delight 06-30-2006 01:33 PM

30%. Liason. Am I supposed to know who this guy is?

Ghoulish Delight 06-30-2006 02:18 PM

Oh snap. Is that Duchovny? That's CP's guess. Freaking horrible photo if it is.

€uroMeinke 06-30-2006 02:24 PM

Whoa - I got 3 - and that's only becasue I enjoy tribbles

€uroMeinke 06-30-2006 02:31 PM

And in round 2:

83% scored higher (more nerdy), and
17% scored lower (less nerdy).
What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

Not nerdy, but then again maybe not all that cool either.

If the lips and the chin are any indication I say she's right.

innerSpaceman 06-30-2006 06:39 PM

I got the same 25% geek score as Lisa, with the same cool description that I don't mind being applied to me in the least.

Motorboat Cruiser 06-30-2006 06:52 PM

Well, that was an enlightening few minutes, I suppose. :)

First quiz, I got 6 correct.

Next,

82% scored higher (more nerdy), and
18% scored lower (less nerdy).

What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

Not nerdy, but then again maybe not all that cool either.

And finally, I'm apparently 28% geek

Gemini Cricket 06-30-2006 08:10 PM

93% scored higher (more nerdy), and
7% scored lower (less nerdy).

What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

Definitely not nerdy, you are probably cool.

I say David Duchovny, too. :)

Gemini Cricket 06-30-2006 08:22 PM

Sayyyy, aren't we all ultranerds if we're viewing this thread right now on a Friday night? :D Ha ha. :D

wendybeth 06-30-2006 08:26 PM

I'm a Nerd Liason. Fair enough.

Prudence 06-30-2006 10:00 PM

30% scored higher (more nerdy), and
70% scored lower (less nerdy).

What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

Mid-Level Nerd. Wow, it takes a lot of hard nerdy practice to reach this level.

Man, only a mid-level nerd. I'm disappointed in myself.

Prudence 06-30-2006 10:04 PM

And I am also a Geek liaison, which makes total sense. I would have been shocked by anything else.

CoasterMatt 06-30-2006 10:42 PM

I got 52% geek...

I am a geek

You are a geek. Good for you! Considering the endless complexity of the universe, as well as whatever discipline you happen to be most interested in, you'll never be bored as long as you have a good book store, a net connection, and thousands of dollars worth of expensive equipment. Assuming you're a technical geek, you'll be able to afford it, too. If you're not a technical geek, you're geek enough to mate with a technical geek and thereby get the needed dough. Dating tip: Don't date a geek of the same persuasion as you. You'll constantly try to out-geek the other.

JWBear 07-01-2006 07:40 AM

On the 2nd test:

75% scored higher (more nerdy), and
25% scored lower (less nerdy).

What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

Not nerdy, but definitely not hip.

On the Geek test:

You are 13% geek (I didn't post the picture of Ahhhnold that want with the score because I just couldn't to that to people I like.)
