All these beautiful names & faces!

You know, I'm taking a little time now to say hello, glad to see you, glad you made it to the site in one piece (or so I'm guessing), and thanks for arriving!

With so many names appearing so quickly, it's no doubt we'll all have a tough time keeping up with who's joined latest, so I just wanted to do it here. I'm so happy to see all those that I have seen come to this happy place, and happy to know I'll be seeing more posts from the people I've come to know and come to love over the last 7 months!!

I'm just ecstatic!

:D

Wait wait... gotta keep my cool....

Flubber 01-10-2005 08:40 AM

In the words of the great Jackie Gleason:

And aWWAAaaayyYYY we go! (at least that's the way my fuzzy brain remembers it)

I wanted to welcome everyone who has joined over here and to everyone trickling in over the next few days. This is going to be a gas!

Actually I'm just posting to see if my avatar works.

Cadaverous Pallor 01-10-2005 08:41 AM

Man, I dig, I dig. This was done for the people. Thanks for showin' up. :)

(even if it does mean incredible lag times...)

Name 01-10-2005 09:30 AM

incredible lag times? hellish lag times more like it. :)

Just wanted to see my avatar as well. ;)

Motorboat Cruiser 01-10-2005 12:34 PM

I'm really pleased to see all the names showing up as well. Welcome to everyone!

It does seem as if things are starting to speed up a bit, lag-wise. That's pretty swanky.

Grumpy4 01-10-2005 12:37 PM

Grumpy4 is in the house!! I'm hep to the jive and ready to swing!

innerSpaceman 01-10-2005 12:48 PM

Yeah, we just couldn't resist throwing wide the doors, even though the coffee's not quite brewed, the capuccino machine seems to have some kinks, and the poetry reading is running late.

Dig it, though, brothers and sisters - we will work like dogs to make this joint the jumpinest.

In the meanwhile, welcome, welcome, one and all all. Please pardon our fuss while we deal with the side effects of the happiest of happenings that so many of our friends have come on in.

~MS~ 01-10-2005 01:02 PM

It will be fun to be along for the ride ;)

Gn2Dlnd 01-10-2005 01:30 PM

I'm just glad this boat holds more than 14!

Disneyphile 01-10-2005 01:38 PM

Looks beautiful (and swanky!) you guys! :D

46 members already.... damn. That's a little bit more than a "few". ;)

:D

Nephythys 01-10-2005 01:39 PM

Hey- I made it. The place looks INCREDIBLE! And I love the variety and the difference between this place and our other options-

Many hugs and applause for those who made this happen- I am thrilled to still be with you all. :)

Not Afraid 01-10-2005 01:46 PM

I am so diggin' seeing familiar names join the board! I hope we didn't forget any hep cats of kittens, but, if we did, we'll just have to pick them up on the next road trip.

Gemini Cricket 01-10-2005 01:52 PM

I'm a not mad Nomad. I like it here. Nice colors, man.
Glad to be here.
:)

Cadaverous Pallor 01-10-2005 07:37 PM

Yay! Prudence made it! I'm so sorry I wasn't around more to respond to your emails, but I do have to work sometimes. :)

And DisneyDreams! Welcome back to the fold, kid. ;)

NirvanaMan 01-10-2005 08:10 PM

Maybe I'll actually post on this board...unlike the last. Oh wait...already did...

Tref 01-10-2005 11:40 PM

...so happy to see you all...

Jazzman 01-11-2005 12:40 AM

Hey all you hip cats and dames!

This joint seems to be swingin' already. Glad I found my way here. I'm excited to see where this jive journey into swankiness leads.

Cheers!

And as the great Satch used to say, "Love baby... love. That's the secret."

Hopefully we can see lots more of that now. :)

wendybeth 01-11-2005 12:44 AM

Welcome, Jazzman! Good to see you, and all this swankiness is right up your alley, isn't it?

Jazzman 01-11-2005 12:59 AM

Hey Wendybeth! I'm glad you're still around! I was afraid we'd lost you for good, for some odd reason that's fading foggily into the velvety forgotten past.

(And yes, the atmosphere here suits me perfectly. Just add some Rat Pack sounds and this, is paradiso! :) )

TheatreTech 01-11-2005 01:19 AM

Okay, I'm here; thank you.
I think I'll start posting more again.

The site looks awesome by the way.

Motorboat Cruiser 01-11-2005 01:56 AM

Glad to see you, TheaterTech! Welcome. :)

blueerica 01-11-2005 07:24 AM

Wow man, it's a real hummer to see these buddy ghee's and gals coming from all around to check out this joint. I'm diggin' this!

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 01-11-2005 11:20 AM

Fantastic!

I worried for nothing. The planets have realigned.

My world is once again tinted with rose.

And the angels of my imagined heaven once again look like the members of the French rugby team.

Hurrah for LoT. What a lovely looking place this is. Thanks, gang.

Ponine 01-11-2005 11:24 AM

I'm here... I dont speak, or understand the speak, so I'll lay low for a while, but I'm here.
And there... and there... and wet.

Cadaverous Pallor 01-11-2005 11:30 AM

Yay, just caught up on this thread. So many wonderful names. You honor us! :)

Eliza, make sure to check out the Open Mic, it's the most.

SusieP. 01-11-2005 11:41 AM

Thanks to all the Cool Kids who are hosting this shindig! The place looks awesome!

Claire 01-11-2005 11:41 AM

I got tired of the screen name thing. I'd rather be me. :)

I hear ya on that one. I went home last night and asked Ken if I'm swanky (and there I was - in my jeans and sweatshirt, surrounded by a hodgepodge of Disney decor). Because I've never considered myself swanky. I've always been more geeky, I suppose. :D

So, it got me to ponder - can one be swanky yet geeky at the same time?

All you swanksters - please advise.

If so, then count me in. ;)

I'm with ya. The swank isnt for me. I've never been cool, or really in the IN crowd.
( I told someone yesterday reading this board was too much like working.) :(

I think geekiness is necessary to be a true swank. All the great swanksters were geeks.

Ponine! Hey, it's just us playing around- you don't have to do the lingo thing! Just be yourself. We'll settle down eventually.;)

UvaGirl 01-11-2005 01:33 PM

Bornieo! I love your curent signature! It's from one of my favourite poems:)

Phew! I was beginning to feel REALLY nerdy for a bit. ;)

Cool. Hip, man. Totally groovy. (Did I do it right?) :D

Gn2Dlnd 01-11-2005 02:05 PM

Ponine-
From the Swank Handbook:
Tradition 3) The only requirement for membership is a desire to wear a silk robe and smoke cigarettes using a cigarette holder while listening to Mancini on the Hi-Fi.

Hmmm. In that case, I get to decide what's swanky for me then:
  • Hours playing Lord of the Rings RISK (The Man just invaded my digs! Where's the love?)
  • Magic: The Gathering (Nothing like a little card game over a swanky drink.)
  • Uru (Hey - there are books involved!)
  • Dungeons & Dragons (Nothing's hipper than being a level 10 half-elf fighter!)
  • Fantasy Costume Designing (Arrr, matey! Be this the digs of ye cool cat captain?)
  • Ren Faires (Dost thee be a hip wench? Huzzah, man! Huzzah!)
:D

MouseWife 01-11-2005 04:29 PM

I would like to thank the person who invited me over. Why does everything happen when I am on vacation??? This happened last time I left for a couple of weeks...then, I am lost.

CP~ I don't know how to do that special 'E'. And, I couldn't cut and paste.

I dig these cool colors, too, man.

Claire~ what is funny is on another board, I used my real name right off because I never imagined I would meet those people {not a Disney board}. So,now they know my name and when we meet they call me by my proper name and I only come up with their screen names! And, when new people come on they keep trying to guess what everyones' name means...

Hey, my sis works for Cyan, DP! Uru rocks.

Matterhorn Fan 01-11-2005 06:02 PM

The Eastcoasters know of the new digs.
Still no av for me, and no sig.

Some things never change.

And therein lies the secret of swank, the foundation of funk, and the hallmark of hip. It's a state of mind, dig? Hip don’t make the Cat. Savvy? The Cat makes the hip.

(Good Lord this is fun. :) )

Grumpy4 01-11-2005 07:09 PM

LSPE-So happy to see you!! YAAAAAYYY

Gemini Cricket 01-11-2005 07:28 PM

I was figuring that everyone was being so daring with posting actual pictures of themselves in their avatars that I thought I'd join in. I've never done that before. It's another step out of my self-imposed closet for me.
;)

LSPoorEeyorick 01-11-2005 07:38 PM

Yeah, I've not done the picture thing before, either. But, you know, sometimes I *would* jump off a cliff if all of my friends were doing it. Well, metaphorical cliffs. Or a very, very tiny actual cliff. With a foam pit at the bottom. Nevertheless, it's nice to see you, GC.

And, hi, G4! Too long time, no see.

you are the voice of reason. And iSm.....you are one cool cat. Did I say that right? I'm just so unswank.
