LONDON (Aug. 2) - A guard dog has ripped apart a collection of rare teddy bears, including one once owned by Elvis Presley, during a rampage at a children's museum.

"He just went berserk," said Daniel Medley, general manager of the Wookey Hole Caves near Wells, England, where hundreds of bears were chewed up Tuesday night by the 6-year-old Doberman pinscher named Barney.

That's exactly what I was thinking! I'd ove to have been a fly on the wall while this dog had a hey day with all of his new toys.

Gemini Cricket 08-03-2006 10:34 AM

Frodo would have done the same thing. Only he would have just removed the faces of all of them.
:D

The first thing I thought was, well the puppy was bored and needed a new toy.
Then I wondered what kind of museum doesn't have the pieces they are showing in glass cases?!

Everything I thought when I showed the story to my co-workers!

I can't help but laugh at this.

And Wookey Hole should be the title of a Star Wars themed porn.

Teddy disapproves.

When I read Wookey Hole, all I think of is Han Solo saying "what in incredible smell you've discovered".

Frankly, I smell an insurance scam.

A security guard at the museum, Greg West, said he spent several minutes chasing Barney before wrestling the dog to the ground.
Poor doggie. He wasn't vicious, probably just bored. Why is he roaming around the museum alone anyways?

He was guarding it, making sure nothing would happen to those teddy bears. It worked well, don't you think? I bet they gave the guy who came up with the idea a big fat raise!

Capt Jack 08-04-2006 08:09 AM

putting a dog in charge of guarding stuffed toys is like putting a fox in charge of guarding a hen house.

the temptation is just too great.
