DCA's Pixar parade
 

In their Disneyland update, MP reported some details about the upcoming Pixar parade that's being added to DCA for the 50th. I'm frightened, particularly by these two bullet points...

Wow, even jump rope moves! :rolleyes: Who Let the Dogs Out? Are you kidding me? Can I just say how completely awful that sounds?

"Okay, we're planning this parade. What's the most cliched, overplayed and most awful music we can use for this happenin' shin-dig?"

I read that and thought it was utterly... disturbing. I think the Macarena should've been buried the day it was released. :shudder: And really, "Who Let the Dogs Out" is right there with it.

Well, this pop culture anti diva will be rolling her eyes until they get stuck.

When I think Pixar, I think hip, edgy and beyond the fringe. This music selection is completely Build a Whore. John Lassiter isn't jumping rope over this one.

Nothing like 3-10 year old crappy pop culture to create timeless classics, eh?

...maybe they can put Buzz, Flick, Nemo et al in snowglobes! That would be sooo coooool!

Is this for real? I thought that DCA was giving up on trying to be edgy and start doing stuf that people actually enjoyed. Sheesh. This park just keeps getting worse and worse.

Oh, the horror! The Macafreakinrena? What the heck are they thinking. Sqauresville, y'all, squaresville!

Too bad the Pixar characters have to be involved.

If at least your going to put to them to a beat, use some underused Eurobeat stuff. Not cool. :(

Note, Disney is being very careful to not call this "event" a parade.

It is using the "entertainment corridor", but to go from the gate, hurrry up to Stop A, have a 10 minute show, hurry up to Stop B, repeat the 10 minute show, then hurry up and exit the park.....

Ok good, at least that means we won't have to endure it very much. I only stumbled across the Mulan "cavalcade" once.

on the bright side, maybe the "energy dancers" will be wearing oversized Adidas coats and baggy fubar jeans. imagine, a whole "sagger's" unit. whoop whoop!

I already look at DCA and think, "Light Magic meets the parking lot." :rolleyes:

I have been listening to the Disney's Investors Conference on line, it was funny to hear Jay Rasulo describe Block Party Bash, you could hear in his voice he caught himself when was about to say Parade....
