Once of the nice guys. Showing my own age here, grew up with Merv Grffin and Mike Douglas, back when they actually did talk on a talk show (rather than a 5 minute drive by)

WOW! What memories! The very first thing that came to mind was his set decoration. It was the era of flower power and Mike was so there!



Mike was a daily event for my Mom, and I watched after school as well. Wan't he on right before the ABC 3:30 movie? Mike then Bette in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. Ahhh youth.

Two things I remember most about his show were that he would have a weekly co-host, which I thought was really cool, especially when it happened to be John and Yoko. And, I also remember when they took the show to Florida to help publicize the opening of the new attraction, Space Mountain. I sat glued to the TV.

Was Mike Douglas the voice of Snow White's Prince way back in 1937? I'd heard this once, anyone know?

Mike Douglas, Virginia Graham, Dinah Shore, Steve Allen. Good shows to ease into those pre-happy hour cocktails. Afternoons were more civilized then. :cheers:

According to the CNN article I read yesterday, he was the singing voice for the prince in Sleeping Beauty.

NPR also reported that fact.

Ok, that's just weird.

I, too, enjoyed his afternoon show in my weirdly adult youth. Yes, the times were far more civilized then (if anachronistic even for that now bygone era).
