DLR Lashbear Odyssey 2007
OK, so Japan's off because we couldn't get any timeshare accommodation there.
SO WE'RE GOING TO THE USA INSTEAD :snap:  :D *Happydance* We're just waiting to hear back from the Peacock Suites regarding our timeshare weeks there. The dates we've asked for are: 04/14/2007 to 04/28/07 So... Lashbear & Lashstoat will be in town... I hope to have many meets, a few sinkings and some swanky times on the town ! Who whats to experience The Divine Lashbear ??? :D (that's Divine as in the drag queen, not any god-like meaning...) PS: We'll also be in SFO from 24 March to 6 April, and then San Diego from 7th to 14th April |
Wow! Sorry about Japan. There's an off chance that we'll be there then, but I won't know until Januaryish. You guys will have so much fun!
|
AAARGH!!!!!
My sis and I are plotting a trip during her kid's Spring Break, but that is probably going to be a week prior to your visit. Count your blessings- you'll be spared the two kid's bickering. About bloody time you get your ass over here, though. |
Well, sorry about Japan! But you're coming to SF! Woot! A night on the town is in order, methinks!
Happydance in deed! :D |
Lemme know if you plan on visiting Universal Studios Hollywood, I love showing guests around... :)
|
While I am bummed for you about Japan, I am exceited that you are visiting DLR!!!
This is freakin' awesome! I am really looking forward to seeing you! |
Lashmeet 2007!
|
YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY!
I get to meet the Bears and not just hear about it from y own "bear". I'm EXCITED! |
My sis may have to pull her kid outta school.:D
|

Well, to help you decide: Quote:
|
Excellent! Sorry to hear about Japan. But yay that you're going to DL!
:) |
Totally COOL!!!! We'll finally get to meet you in person!
|
Ken and I will most definitely be there. :)
|
And you'll be in San Diego, too!
What are your plans while you are here? |
Hmmm, we'll think about it.
Okay, thought! Our new place is 5-10 minutes from Disneyland. :D |
Bah!
Whatever happened to your 10-year plan that had you coming to Florida first, huh? Huh? Seriously, though, have a great trip. |
Quote:
|
Well, you will not get to go on an expedition to Everest in DCA. But you will get a bread tour.
Geez, it's a toss up. |
Quote:
So, here's hoping! |
Quote:
besides, I want to meet you too !. |
Quote:
|
Tom and I will do our best to come, but that's T minus six weeks before our wedding... we'll probably need a break by then!
|

|
Wooo Hoooo!
I hope to be able to attend at least one lashmeet! |
I think this is a great opportunity for us San Diegans {there are a few} to meet up....
I'll keep my eyes peeled  for information..... |
Quote:
You have a place with animals, and a place with fish they tell me ? |
Quote:
There is, of course, Sea World. And, Stephen Birch Aquarium {I believe that is what it is called, previously Scripps, or vice versa}. The San Diego Zoo is awesome and it is close to Downtown where there could be a lunch/dinner meet.... What is it you guys want to see around here? |
Quote:
I wish I could come out to CA for the lashmeet, but alas, at that time of the year, it's impossible. Quote:
|
Quote:
Oh !! Things to see... sorry, now I've got you. Amusement parks, natural wonders and friendly locals are all good. We also want to be blatant tourists and visit Mexico for a day. :D Oh, did I mention bars ? |
Quote:
Bars...bars...bars...what part of town are you staying at? We definitely have bars. What type of music are you into? Different radio stations have days that they are at certain clubs, that can be fun. Amusement parks? Hmm. Belmont Park? There are bars around there, too. Natural wonders? It all depends, again, on where you are staying and how much time you would like to spend cruising around. But actually I don't know of natural wonders, just old places. :) Old Town, Julian, Balboa Park {directly next to the Zoo}. Aren't you vegetarian? Or no? There are some restaurants nearby the zoo/Hillcrest area. Or, the other way into the Gaslamp area. Buca de Beppo's downtown would be a great place for a meet. I love seeing tourists in town. Coronado is a pretty place to see the sunset, but, so it La Jolla. Just depends on what cha want. :0) Up to you. Your vacation. You deal the cards, dude. :D |

OK. Can we talk ? Let's see, Two bears walk into a bar..... |
Quote:
Your hotel is quite swanky!! I love that they serve breakfast on the rooftop! What a view!!! Bucas might be within walking distance.... Another fun thing...riding the ferry across to Coronado. Not quite to the beach but they do have a small 'seaport' village. Or doing the Harbor Excursion....That is nice. I mostly do these things during the week to avoid crowds. How exciting! You are traveling all over!!! |

I'll put a vote in for Lou & Mickey's. A bit pricey, but we've enjoyed it the last two times we've been to S.D. I also thoroughly enjoyed touring the USS Midway - a retired aircraft carrier that you can tour. You can also have a beer and BBQ at the bar where they filmed part of Top Gun: Kansas City BBQ |
Quote:
The Midway! I was trying to remember the name of it. The Hubster just took the Boy and pals there recently, it is a great place. I wanted to recommend it, too. As well as that area and the Star of India. {is that right?} |
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG......
I just found this ! http://www.queenmary.com/index.php?page=rockyhorror Who's coming to Midnight Insanity with us ?????? |
Oh My GAWD!!!!
What a party!!! Already put together, just pay the entrance fee {remember when parties had charges??? WTF? Although I never paid...} I love the list of what not to bring...the lingerie comments...too funny!!! Reminds me of Comic Con when I saw this adult man coming towards us in a big diaper {not a Depends but an exaggerated cloth one} and I told my son 'Son, that is a grown man in a diaper.' Just so he wouldn't think his eyes were deceiving him. Or, the man in RHPS gear, I said 'Son, that is a man.' Great parent, aren't I? :p I figure at 12 if he has any questions, he'll ask. So, who is going? I know I probably won't be able to....I will be lucky to make it to the SD meets.... |
Quote:
|
Quote:
LOL Yeah, I thought of that, too, ride first, drink after!! |
Quote:
Well, that's down the street for us, so we can probably manage. Szerbiak has been to the new location. |
Quote:
|
While not ride while drinking?
|
Quote:
You are lucky to get off of that ride without any bruises. It thrashes you! |
Quote:
Who wants first class when you can ride Class 5 all the way ! |
Yeah right, I've ridden rougher kiddie coasters than the Belmont GD...
Besides, if the booze is right, it'll numb ya right out :) There was this one time at Coney Island - I had 3 yards of margarita and rode the Cyclone 11 times. |
Rose and I'll journey down for the Belmont "thrash and trash" meet :D
|
Quote:
I might get a T-shirt made with the Giant Dipper logo and the saying: "Thrash me or Trash me" BTW: isn't the Giant Dipper at Belmont Park the one that was also known as The Bobs and The Earthquake ? I think it was designed by Prior & Church, and they suspect it was Traver-built. Correct, mr Coastermatt ? |
Oh Lashbear, Belmont Giant Dipper is probably about equivalent (a bit more fun from what I've heard) to your dear departed Bush Beast.
|

|
*Boo hoo*:(
I miss the old gal, even if she did shake the spit out of you. (VERY rough in the years leading up to The End) |
I've always wanted to ride that coaster ever since I first saw the Vincent Price "America Screams" Rolly-coaster video (didn't you love the way he said Rolly-coaster?)
I want to go on the Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz too. |
Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz is all about FUN! Plus it's in a really fun park.
|
Can't the roughness of the ride also depend upon where you are seated?
Or you could say I am a weanie. Oh gawd, I confess...I can't ride Space Mountain, either!!!! {but I did, and I did ride the GD but just won't anymore...} But I do take great shots of people on the rides.....:D |
Quote:
|
Too bad you're hitting SD first. If you were up here first, you could ride Ghost Rider at Knotts. After that, Giant Dipper would practically feel like riding in the back of a Royal Delux II luxury auto.
|
Yeah right, have you ridden Ghostrider lately? It's got more potholes than any street in SoCal... Thanks CCI :)
|
Quote:
|
Never mind, I got ya :)
Ghostrider is probably the most overrated coaster I've ridden, next to Millennium Force(less) at Cedar Point. |
Quote:
|
Quote:
But I'll be there with you in spirit. ;) Oh my gosh, I thought I was going to fall out of Ghost Rider!!! Woodies are great coasters but, I don't know when, at some point, I just couldn't handle them anymore. Any coasters. So sad. The Hubster loves them. Well, if we all meet up there, I still won't ride it, but it would be a lot of fun. |
On a lil side note, Lashbear, do you know about CoasterBears.org ?
|
Quote:
Coasterbears, huh ?? Hmmmmm...... |
Ghostrider is almost as painful as the old Indy at DLRP.
|
OMG....I've been away for a few days and come back to see this....I am SOOOO there to hug my favorite Bear! And Missy will be along as well :D Can't WAIT!
|
WooHoo! The Lashes will be in town! :D
|
Still waiting to hear back from RCI !! *le sigh*
