Crazy Cat Lady Strikes Again!

Uh oh. I fell in LOVE today. Then I whined and pouted until Chris relented. We're back up to 6.

No pictures yet, but this one's all black, medium haired boy who is 3 months old. His adoption name was Cole, but we haven't named him yet. The cats are slowly adjusting with Scoundrel and Charles (!) being the most vocal. He's explored the living room and now is getting some rest sequestered in the bathroom.

But, he's a cutie pie.

Kevy Baby 09-17-2006 10:04 PM

Congrats to Lisa and the former Cole

Condolences to Chris.

We went to PetsMart to get some cat food and I almost asked Susan if we could bring home a new cat (adoption day at the store). GEORGEOUS kitty with beautiful blue eyes.

Snowflake 09-17-2006 10:13 PM

Oh! Congratulations!

A 3 month old little ball of fur and soon to be holy terror! Can't wait for the pics!

flippyshark 09-17-2006 10:26 PM

I'm not too surprised but I'm delighted to hear that another little fur-bearer captured your heart. Congratulations!

RStar 09-17-2006 11:51 PM

I guess I'm like Chris. I say no, and grump and complain, then in a couple of weeks I'm in love and soon I can't imagine life without them. Sigh......

Betty 09-18-2006 05:27 AM

We wants a picture!

CoasterMatt 09-18-2006 06:05 AM

Imagine my horror, now that Rose is going to be WORKING at PetSmart...

Gemini Cricket 09-18-2006 06:10 AM

Lisa's going to get more cats until she can no longer see her floors any more... :D

Just kidding!

Two black kitties now. We want pictures. :)

DreadPirateRoberts 09-18-2006 06:19 AM

Congratulations! You've got your reputation to uphold.

LSPoorEeyorick 09-18-2006 06:40 AM

Hurrah! I'm looking forward to meeting him.

Ghoulish Delight 09-18-2006 08:09 AM

Puppy!!

MouseWife 09-18-2006 08:32 AM

Congratulations!

I love my lone Kitty, the kids want another. Is it true female cats are less welcoming of new kitties?

A question, was it 'Cole' or 'Coal'?

katiesue 09-18-2006 09:39 AM

Our black cat was named Anthracite. Congrats on the new kitty.

JWBear 09-18-2006 09:50 AM

Congratulations!!!

Pictures... We want PICTURES!

Disneyphile 09-18-2006 10:59 AM

No photos yet?!?!?! :( And you call yourself a Crazy Cat Lady..... a true CCL would have uploaded those photos in the first 5 minutes, and there would be about 100 of 'em, from every angle - kitty bathing, kitty sleeping, kitty eating, kitty purring, etc. :p

Not Afraid 09-18-2006 11:42 AM

OK. I'm uploading some photos. He's still sequestered in the bathroom because Charles is being a PITA. I've read that the youngest cat sometimes has the post problems accepting a new kitten, and boy is that proving to be right. Just get me through the next few days and it will be fine.

Scoundral is also being vocal. I've had talks with them both and they look at me like they know what I'm talking about. Silly boys.

At the moment, I've got the baby gate up in front of the bathroom door so there is some contact.

Oh, that was useful. The little tyke just jumped over it and is now in the office with me and Jack. I'm getting a lot of work done today.

Go kitty!!!! :snap:Sounds like he went to the same school as Munchkin - Houdini's Pet College of Escaping Barriers. :p

Not Afraid 09-18-2006 11:54 AM

We've been kicking around names, but it's hard when his personality hasn't really shown itself.

The latest name is Bamboozle, but others include Gomez, Mortimer, Cairo, Eastwick and a host of others. He's ALL black. There are maybe 4 white hairs on him.

CoasterMatt 09-18-2006 12:04 PM

How about "Rollins"?

Or "Mr. Jigglywinkle"

or "Deathstrike Faceripper the Fluffy One"

or maybe I should go back to work :)

Not Afraid 09-18-2006 12:13 PM

OK, First pics. Not my best work, but I was working behind a babt gate (useful thing it was).

Scrooge McSam 09-18-2006 12:18 PM

Awww Just like looking at my little Jasper when he was just a kitty

DreadPirateRoberts 09-18-2006 12:26 PM

Very cute. I rescued a cat that looked just like that 20 years ago. He was hiding in a drainage ditch near the costco in SD. He was filthy and covered with fleas. We cleaned him up and gave him to my Dad. He lived with my Dad up until last spring. His name was Spooky. Do you believe in cat reincarnation?

Disneyphile 09-18-2006 12:29 PM

How about - Bagheera, or "Baggy" for short. :)

He's SOOOOOO cute!!!

Disneyphile 09-18-2006 12:31 PM

Oh, and NA - you need a new rug. This one's growing eyes -

MouseWife 09-18-2006 12:35 PM

Aw! What a cute little kitty!!!

Reminds me of the little orphan kitty I brought home on the bus to my sister...who then named him 'Boris' to go with her tiger cat, Egor.

Prudence 09-18-2006 12:40 PM

Yes, you could join the ranks of LoTers with cats named "Boris".

Or he seems like an Edgar to me.

Snowflake 09-18-2006 12:43 PM

Oh! I can SEE exactly why you fell in love with him. How adorable is he? Pretty damn cute and such big eyes and ears!

Do tell, who else has a Boris? Well, I should say our 'Boris' is one of the dearly departed. I brought him home on the schoolbus...a long time ago.

Ghoulish Delight 09-18-2006 01:03 PM

Wittle kitty head!

I'd call him Bandit.

Snowflake 09-18-2006 01:30 PM

Expresso?

cause he's black n bouncy?

Shadow?

clearly he wants to be in yours

I do like GD's suggestion of Bandit since he stole your heart
and DP's Bagheera

Capt Jack 09-18-2006 01:49 PM

we had one for years (20 years in fact) that looked nearly identical. ours was named Gypsy, but for the most part we called her 'kitty, No!'

€uroMeinke 09-18-2006 07:30 PM

At the moment I am calling him Tiny Skittletoes...

Drince88 09-18-2006 07:34 PM

He's so cute and tiny. I know 3 mo is young, which means small, but yikers! My will-power is VERY happy Jaxie would NOT put up with a new addition to the house!

Congrads on the new addition!

I plead guilty- our Boris is a flame-point Siamese with crossed-eyes and a really big tummy. He's a lovebug.

I love the new kitty!!!! I think the name Klaus would be cool as well. The black kitties we had in the past were named Ninja, Ninja II, Xavier and Yogi. My nephew just named his new kitten Onyx.

wendybeth 09-18-2006 07:53 PM

Tori thinks you should call him Sirius, and give him to her.:D

Not Afraid 09-18-2006 07:58 PM

STINKY skittle toes! I forgot just how foul kitten poo is.

CoasterMatt 09-18-2006 08:09 PM

That foulness is inversely proportional to the love they feel for you :D

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 09-18-2006 08:10 PM

Aw, my alergies are going crazy just thinking about those kitties! I'm glad you get to enjoy them and not me!! ;) hehehehe

Not Afraid 09-18-2006 08:23 PM

Well, he's out and about in the house. Charles is doing better and so is Scoundrel. Skittletoes is standing up for himself and responding to hisses by rolling over and playing cute. I think things will be fine in no time.

Now, we just need a name for him.

BarTopDancer 09-18-2006 08:30 PM

wendybeth 09-18-2006 09:50 PM

You could call him 'Leo'.

:D

flippyshark 09-18-2006 10:44 PM

Agamemnon - That's what I'd call him.

I hope you get pictures of him in the same frame as Charles. That'd make a nice contrast.

At first I thought that said "Sinus"!

And that reminded me of a cat we had when I was growing up. My mom and aunt were sitting around trying to come up with a name for our new cat. Names were being tossed out left and right, and my aunt said Alice 9For the Arlo Guthrie song playing at the time), and my mom started busting up. She thought she said "Atlas". It stuck. Our new little kitty was the strong man with the world on her shoulders.......

Great new kitty Lisa! But don't put a black cat on a black rug to take pictures:rolleyes: .....J/K!

If you don't like Klaus, you could always go with Baudelaire. You could call him Bodie for a nickname, which is a ghost town in CA. Appropriate for a black cat, no?

But don't name him this until Friday, October 13.

(And don't forget to buy the last of the Snicket books on that day.)

I know, I was just in a Pet Smart today investing in new attactive kitty toys (they'll be attractive for about 2 minutes tops, then, meh) and there was a gorgeous short haired crazy quilt colored bitty I fell in love with. Tango, will have none of it. Actually, my roomie will have none of it. When she moves to MX for good.....then we'll get a new playmate for Tango

Not Afraid 09-19-2006 06:39 PM

Still no name, but he's starting to adjust (and so is everyone else). He's a squirmy skittletoes kind of cat. However, he got both Jack and Dexter hypered into a playing frenzy today and had them running about the house like giant kittens. It's good for them to get some exercise.

New addition to the name list - Aleister. He can be Aleister Clawley. ;)

Quote:

Spoiler:

Kitty Litter Cake
Serving Size: 24Notes:
This is a fun cake! It might look gross, but it does taste good! Ingredients:
1 (18 oz.) box spice or german chocolate cake mix
1 (18 oz.) box white cake mix
1 pkg. white sandwich cookies
1 large box vanilla instant pudding mix
12 small tootsie rolls
1 litter box (preferably a NEW one!)
1 plastic scoop
green food coloring

Preparation:
Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans). Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble. Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in blender, they tend to stick, so scrape often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix using a fork or shake in a jar.
When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. You probably won’t need all of the pudding, mix with the cake and “feel” it, you don’t want it soggy, just moist; gently combine. Put mixture into clean litter box.Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls and bury in mixture. Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top, this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter. Heat remaining Tootsie Rolls, three at a time in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around. Serve with a new pooper scooper.

More Pics of Spooky Skittletoes.

MouseWife 09-21-2006 10:52 PM

Wow, we can see him really well against the red carpet and That Guys green shirt!!

And we can see how tiny he is compared to....um, the big orange cat? {I know, how rude am I....it seems I don't know the other fellows name??}

wendybeth 09-21-2006 11:46 PM

Omg, is that Dexter laying on the carpet next to the Unnamed One? Has he passed out from malnutrition?;)

(Maybe he just looks huge next to the little one, or maybe it's the camera adding on the pounds...)

The orange striped one at the end is Jack, right? Is that the one your talking about, MW? They're all friggen adorable.

Has anyone come up with Nosferatu? Or Berthold?

Snowflake 09-22-2006 05:35 AM

I think Spooky is a cool name. I had a black cat named Pola Negri.

Not that it's entirely original, but why haven't you mentioned Jiji?
