Crazy Cat Lady Strikes Again!
Uh oh. I fell in LOVE today. Then I whined and pouted until Chris relented. We're back up to 6.
No pictures yet, but this one's all black, medium haired boy who is 3 months old. His adoption name was Cole, but we haven't named him yet. The cats are slowly adjusting with Scoundrel and Charles (!) being the most vocal. He's explored the living room and now is getting some rest sequestered in the bathroom. But, he's a cutie pie. |
Congrats to Lisa and the former Cole
Condolences to Chris. We went to PetsMart to get some cat food and I almost asked Susan if we could bring home a new cat (adoption day at the store). GEORGEOUS kitty with beautiful blue eyes. |
Oh! Congratulations!
A 3 month old little ball of fur and soon to be holy terror! Can't wait for the pics! |
I'm not too surprised but I'm delighted to hear that another little fur-bearer captured your heart. Congratulations!
|
I guess I'm like Chris. I say no, and grump and complain, then in a couple of weeks I'm in love and soon I can't imagine life without them. Sigh......
|
We wants a picture!
|
Imagine my horror, now that Rose is going to be WORKING at PetSmart...
|
Lisa's going to get more cats until she can no longer see her floors any more... :D
Just kidding! Two black kitties now. We want pictures. :) |
Congratulations! You've got your reputation to uphold.
|
Hurrah! I'm looking forward to meeting him.
|
Puppy!!
|
Congratulations!
I love my lone Kitty, the kids want another. Is it true female cats are less welcoming of new kitties? A question, was it 'Cole' or 'Coal'? |
Our black cat was named Anthracite. Congrats on the new kitty.
|
Congratulations!!!
Pictures... We want PICTURES! |
No photos yet?!?!?! :( And you call yourself a Crazy Cat Lady..... a true CCL would have uploaded those photos in the first 5 minutes, and there would be about 100 of 'em, from every angle - kitty bathing, kitty sleeping, kitty eating, kitty purring, etc. :p
|
OK. I'm uploading some photos. He's still sequestered in the bathroom because Charles is being a PITA. I've read that the youngest cat sometimes has the post problems accepting a new kitten, and boy is that proving to be right. Just get me through the next few days and it will be fine.
Scoundral is also being vocal. I've had talks with them both and they look at me like they know what I'm talking about. Silly boys. At the moment, I've got the baby gate up in front of the bathroom door so there is some contact. Oh, that was useful. The little tyke just jumped over it and is now in the office with me and Jack. I'm getting a lot of work done today. |

We've been kicking around names, but it's hard when his personality hasn't really shown itself.
The latest name is Bamboozle, but others include Gomez, Mortimer, Cairo, Eastwick and a host of others. He's ALL black. There are maybe 4 white hairs on him. |
How about "Rollins"?
Or "Mr. Jigglywinkle" or "Deathstrike Faceripper the Fluffy One" or maybe I should go back to work :) |
OK, First pics. Not my best work, but I was working behind a babt gate (useful thing it was).

Awww Just like looking at my little Jasper when he was just a kitty
|
Very cute. I rescued a cat that looked just like that 20 years ago. He was hiding in a drainage ditch near the costco in SD. He was filthy and covered with fleas. We cleaned him up and gave him to my Dad. He lived with my Dad up until last spring. His name was Spooky. Do you believe in cat reincarnation?
|
How about - Bagheera, or "Baggy" for short. :)
He's SOOOOOO cute!!! |
Oh, and NA - you need a new rug. This one's growing eyes -

Aw! What a cute little kitty!!!
Reminds me of the little orphan kitty I brought home on the bus to my sister...who then named him 'Boris' to go with her tiger cat, Egor. |
Yes, you could join the ranks of LoTers with cats named "Boris".
Or he seems like an Edgar to me. |
Oh! I can SEE exactly why you fell in love with him. How adorable is he? Pretty damn cute and such big eyes and ears!
|
Quote:
Do tell, who else has a Boris? Well, I should say our 'Boris' is one of the dearly departed. I brought him home on the schoolbus...a long time ago. |
Wittle kitty head!
I'd call him Bandit. |
Expresso?
cause he's black n bouncy? Shadow? clearly he wants to be in yours I do like GD's suggestion of Bandit since he stole your heart and DP's Bagheera |
we had one for years (20 years in fact) that looked nearly identical. ours was named Gypsy, but for the most part we called her 'kitty, No!'

That kitty looks like a "Snuggly Devourer of Souls"
Darth Kitty-ous Bogart Dark Matter |
You are insane. In a good pet loving way.
|
Quote:
How about Roderick? And he has the bathroom to himself? Isn't that - like - a third of the house? |
Klaus.
|
Some suggestions:
Noir Bituminous Lignite |
I'd call him Bimo Jolimont MCG III
...or Kenneth (gotta love the Goodies) |
At the moment I am calling him Tiny Skittletoes...
|
He's so cute and tiny. I know 3 mo is young, which means small, but yikers! My will-power is VERY happy Jaxie would NOT put up with a new addition to the house!
Congrads on the new addition! |
Quote:
I love the new kitty!!!! I think the name Klaus would be cool as well. The black kitties we had in the past were named Ninja, Ninja II, Xavier and Yogi. My nephew just named his new kitten Onyx. |
Tori thinks you should call him Sirius, and give him to her.:D
|
STINKY skittle toes! I forgot just how foul kitten poo is.
|
That foulness is inversely proportional to the love they feel for you :D
|
Aw, my alergies are going crazy just thinking about those kitties! I'm glad you get to enjoy them and not me!! ;) hehehehe
|
Well, he's out and about in the house. Charles is doing better and so is Scoundrel. Skittletoes is standing up for himself and responding to hisses by rolling over and playing cute. I think things will be fine in no time.
Now, we just need a name for him. |
KITTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hooooooooow cute!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Quote:
|
How about "Bob"?
|
How about "Annoying black poop machine"?
Sorry. I tried to stay away from this thread. I really did. Please ignore my comment and continue along your cat loving musings. |
You could call him 'Leo'.
:D |
Agamemnon - That's what I'd call him.
I hope you get pictures of him in the same frame as Charles. That'd make a nice contrast. |
I vote for Leo! ;)

And that reminded me of a cat we had when I was growing up. My mom and aunt were sitting around trying to come up with a name for our new cat. Names were being tossed out left and right, and my aunt said Alice 9For the Arlo Guthrie song playing at the time), and my mom started busting up. She thought she said "Atlas". It stuck. Our new little kitty was the strong man with the world on her shoulders....... Great new kitty Lisa! But don't put a black cat on a black rug to take pictures:rolleyes: .....J/K! I vote for Boris, by the way. |
Darkstar
Lord God Boofoo Charbroil Nightshade BTW, I adopted a kitty at work and named him "Oscar" |
Think of the fun: "No, Leo! Don't poop on the neighbors lawn!"
|
Nietzsche
Mao Model Citizen |
That would be fantastic ... heh :)
|
I say call him "Grotty Joggers" ;)
...sounds very "Cats", doesn't it ? |
Cute pictures. :)
Gomez? Z-Man? Ralph? |

If you don't like Klaus, you could always go with Baudelaire. You could call him Bodie for a nickname, which is a ghost town in CA. Appropriate for a black cat, no?
But don't name him this until Friday, October 13. (And don't forget to buy the last of the Snicket books on that day.) |
Awww, what a cutie!
I like Bandit. |
My friend had a black cat they called Smokey Joe. I'm thinking I need another furry friend around here now, thanks :)
|
My wife just started working at PetSmart - they always have those dangerous pet adoptions...

Still no name, but he's starting to adjust (and so is everyone else). He's a squirmy skittletoes kind of cat. However, he got both Jack and Dexter hypered into a playing frenzy today and had them running about the house like giant kittens. It's good for them to get some exercise.
New addition to the name list - Aleister. He can be Aleister Clawley. ;) |
What about a Harry Potter theme?
Professor TumbleClaw ? |
Clawed Rains? I, Clawedius?
|
I saw Clawed DePussy as a suggestion on a cat name site.

I've only ever negative mojoed once in the existance of the LoT, and it wasn't for something as silly as naming a cat after me.
But I negative mojo WB in my mind all the time.:) |

EWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is what I said but my so said 'Coool!!!!' I only know I would not partake in this at Casa Swank...... |
An old favourite, made many times to grace my American friend's halloween table (he was born on halloween, so he has some very interesting parties - I made the kitty litter cake as his Birthday Cake that year.)
Here's my handiwork: Spoiler:
All accolades accepted. :D |
BTW: How is little 'Grotty Joggers' doing today ?
|
Sigh.
We just keep adding names to the list but not deciding on any of them. Satchel/Satchmo is the latest. |
Just call him Bob.
Bob the cat |
We called our black cat Kitty.
|
I reckon you should call him "doggie"
Then you could stand at the front door calling "Here doggie, come doggie" and a cat would come running up ! :p |
I think all black kitties should be called Ninja.
Bob is good, too. |
Illuminati Jr.

Tee hee. Our best cat ever was named Mouse. |
I used to have a cat named Firehouse, and his mom was CopCar
|
We keep trying out different names on him, but nothing is sticking besides Skittletoes. For the past 2 hours, we have been walking around calling Voodoo and singing "You do that voodoo that you do so well".
Poor little guy. |
Huggy Bear.
Superfly. Shaft. Dynomite! |
Snob.
Arrogant Self-serving Carnivore (ASC would be a fine acronym). Stinky. Sneeze Machine. Hairball. Cranky, Petulant, Poop-Producing Organism (C3PO). This one is my personal favorite. |
Spot?
|
How about Berlioz, like the black kitten from The Aristocats?
|
Quote:
|
I love kitties, and I've never admitted this to anyone before, but in my mind I've always referred to all cats I've met as "fuzzbutt."
|
Any new pics of skittletoes NOT on a black bathroom rug? Could barely see the little guy.
How's he doing now that he's been around for a few days? |
Quote:
The cake....I just don't know. I think I'll stick to a graveyard.... :snap: :snap: :snap: |
Kitty looks like my old cat Taboo!
And lashbear: you are a master of creepy cuisine! |
Chocula.

Wow, we can see him really well against the red carpet and That Guys green shirt!!
And we can see how tiny he is compared to....um, the big orange cat? {I know, how rude am I....it seems I don't know the other fellows name??} |
Omg, is that Dexter laying on the carpet next to the Unnamed One? Has he passed out from malnutrition?;)
(Maybe he just looks huge next to the little one, or maybe it's the camera adding on the pounds...) The orange striped one at the end is Jack, right? Is that the one your talking about, MW? They're all friggen adorable. Has anyone come up with Nosferatu? Or Berthold? |
Wow! Even Buster came out for a picture!
|
I got it.
Call him Spooky Skittletoes. BUT like how Dexter is nicknamed Pookie (and you can't have a Pookie and a Spooky) call Spooky by the nickname Skittletoes or Skittles. |
Great pictures!
Wow, when that orange cat sits around the house... ;) I think Spooky is a cool name. I had a black cat named Pola Negri. |
Congratulations!
Not that it's entirely original, but why haven't you mentioned Jiji? I seem to remember a valiant €uro doing a solo navigation of the Tokyo transit system to procure a plush backpack likeness of said black cat for his woman. |
I can't view the photos from work. :(
|
THe giant orange thing with the tiny head is Jack. He looks so fat in these pics! The cat appearing in the hallway then desappearing is Charles. He's still a bit disgusted but he was letting Skittles lick hm last night.
|
OMG Jack must've eaten Scoundrel.
|
Oh, well, ya know, the camera adds ten pounds....
Next time remind him to suck in his gut, stick out his chin. Lovely family you have, You's Guys. :snap: :snap: |
|
Awwwwwwww....kitty pictures..... :)
Love the name. |
I like the name, too.
:) |
Purrrrrrfect name! :D
He's so adorable. I really need to stop over and see him. :) |
KYHTTIE!!!!! :D
|
Aw, he's grown so much and he is SO adorable! Almost as adorable as Charles!
|
About freakin' time you named the darn thing!
