Attention, Hobbits!

Have we got the place for you...

http://www.bendshire.com/

From Gandalf Greens to Bag End, the swankiest digs in Hobbiton.

Gotta say, the Swordsman's cottage is pretty damn cool.

But my shabby deco style won't fit in there and I can't afford them, anyway! :(

my thoughts exactly. Bend, Oregon huh? Not exactly where I always pictured a Hobbit commune, but hey...what do I know?

not sure I can imagine living there myself, but the digs sure are nice.

OMG, that is SO COOL! I love them! (But I don't love the fact that they mixed in multi-family units... brings down neighborhood value, IMO.)

Prudence 09-20-2006 12:04 PM

I want one! Now!

RStar 09-20-2006 01:37 PM

They are cool! And Bends not such a bad place to live.

Too far away from DL though.....

This is almost tempting enough to move there. I'm wondering if I should show Ken or hide it from him. ;)

With a name like frodopotter, I know you're kidding!:D

The whoel development is very cute. I am surpised that it has taken this long for developers to get on the Hobbit bandwagon.

Disneyphile 09-20-2006 04:20 PM

I wish they made those in pre-fab models, as that's what we're looking to buy next year.

But, we could always "Hobbit-ize" it ourselves by using those photos as a guide. (At least on the inside.)

We need a development like that here. (I already live atop Mt. Doom). We are actually very Shire-like, excepting the hookers on Sprague Ave.

I love tudor style houses. There are few skattered here and there among the spanish and craftman bungalowss of Long Beach. One down the street just landscaped with a traditional English garden and it looks great! Not the most practical thing for So Cal, but pretty. Bend seems like it would be a better place for this type of garden.

I just think it's funny to say "Bend, Oregon" 3 times fast.

Prudence 09-20-2006 07:44 PM

I want viking-esque carvings on my house! Did you check out the interior images for the Swordsman model?

Heck yeah!!! We really want that stained glass piece above the doors.

We're going to start our "Middle Earth" furniture transition after the wedding. I've been wanting to reupholster our sofa, so Ken will now help pick out the fabric, and we totally want something Hobbit-like. And, once we get our pre-fab next year, we'll get rid of the Ikea type pieces and go with more wood stuff. Right now, we have a mix of the two, just because we got most of it cheap or free.
