Plane hits building in New York City
 

But not to panic. It looks like this one really was an accident. A small plane (or possibly a helicopter) hit an apartment complex building.

So unless we see a bunch more all over the place all of a sudden, it ain't no big deal.

Oy!

It was being piloted by Cory Lidle, a Yankees pitcher (and former Athletics pitcher).

Hopefully it won't turn out to be some kind of stupid form of suicide.

Well, the pitcher is feared dead. NPR said 2 are confirmed dead.
Very sad things like this.

The date didn't help New Yorkers deal with this any better, I would imagine.

and even then I can't imagine you are too worried about it at this point.

In a shocking coincidence, our President was in the White House reading Our Pet Goat.

Ok, then. Unless you were married to or sired by someone on the plane.

But at the global level, not so much.

I'm just amazed there was only 2 confirmed casualties. Given the damage done to the building, it could have been a lot worse.

Apparently, one of the women in the building at the time it was hit is also the woman who was injured when a lamp post fell on her during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade a few year ago. I think I would move to Montana.
