What a misleading thread title. I've been sitting around waiting for my congratulations from Dp and Fp.
Pre-Congrats to you! |
Yeah, I thought I felt something looming over me this week! ugh! More "happy people" Jeez...
Hope the bar is stocked!! :) |

What's all this about a wedding?
Congrats you two!  |
Susan is currently having fun with the wedding cake at the moment. She will be up much later than me tonight.
One of the layers had problems and had to be remade (just the actual cake part - not decorated parts). Bummer - we have a bunch of cake to munch on :D I've seen the design and am looking forward to the finished product. |
Is that cake Atkins friendly?
|
Congratulations - I wish I was there to throw rice at you - I promise I wouldn't even cook it first. :D
|
I'm so excited i can't sleep!

My best to both of you!!! May you have many happy years together!

But I woke up this morning to see the (mostly - some assembly required on site) finished cake. It is georgeous (and huge - anybody coming to the hitching better bring an appetite for cake). Poor Susi was up until 4:00 a.m. working on it. |
Susan is awesome! I can't wait to consume! :)
"Somebody's getting maaaaaarrrriiiiieeeeddd today!" |
(Hey, Bornieo, you beat me to the Muppets Take Manhattan reference!)
Somebody's geting maaaaaaaarieeeeeed! Somebody's geting maaaaaarieeeeeed! ![]() |
Yeah LSP. hehehe. I woke up humming it! HAHAHAHAH!

Raising a toast to the bride and groom!!
Congratulations!!!! |
Any word if they're Married yet?
|
Mr. and Mrs. Frodopotter have "tied the knot"! Congratulations :snap: Your wedding was the most enchanting and magical that i have ever witnessed! there is only ONE thing that could have possibly made it any better: The bridal entrance via hanglider from the distant cliffs with the theme from "Soarin'" ;) thank you from the bottom of my heart for the invitation to attend your amazing wedding. May God Bless You Both, Always. |
That cake was NOT Atkins friendly.
It was, however, delicious. (wait 'til you see the pictures of the centerpieces, oh em gee indeed) Congratulations to the bride and groom! |
Was that a party???? Was that a magical, magnificent, magnificational wedding of stupendousness?
Yes, I gush. Fantabulous!!!!! Beautiful, moving ceremony, rollicking imaginative reception party. Gorgeousness everywhere. Details, artistry, talent, and .... oh love in the freaking air, baby!!! I won't (yet) write several paragraphs about the centerpieces and table settings that will go down in legend ... but let me take a moment to thank the bride and groom and so many others for the wonderful personal touches that abounded. The aforementioned cake by Susan ... hahahah and mmmmmm - it had layers of Churro, Dole Whip and Frozen Chocolate Banana! DJ'ing by none other than Kevy Baby ... who aquiessed all too well to Blue Erica's request for "more 80's." And his master of ceremonies stuff was simply smooooooth. Speaking of smooth, our very own Motorboat Cruiser and his combo provided the evening's swankified live music. Groovy, man, just groovy. :snap: And all the others who spoke, or toasted or directed or helped. So many were in on it, and the year's worth of planning and preparation paid off handsomely. Oh, and handsomely it was ... we simply must have more occasions where we all get together and dress to the nines. and Dance. Congratulations once again to Ken and Teresa ... and thank you guys so much for letting us share such a magical time with you, and ... yeah, for throwing the most fantabulous shindig for so many friends and family. had a ball. love you guys. mazel-tov. :iSm: |
What an absolute delight! Between the combination of elbow grease (the work put into this wedding truly showed) and esprit-de-corps (their love for each other really bled through into every moment and into us, too) and fan-freaking-tastic community (yes, we are a gorgeous LoT) it was definitely the most enjoyable wedding I've ever attended.
Happy, happy congratulations to a wonderful couple! Now GO AND GET SOME REST! Enjoy your cruise! |
I'm sure pictures will pop up eventually, but Dustysage's partner Fishbulb has already posted some of his on Micechat. You can see them here.
|
OMG!!!!! I am speechless! I cannot fathom the effort that those centerpieces must have taken. Gorgeous!
|
I think a page should be taken from the Tournament of Roses book ... and the centerpieces put on display somewhere for folks who couldn't make the parade, er, wedding.
|
Goodness, I am still on a happiness buzz. What an absolutely astoundingly wonderful evening. And it wasn't the centerpieces that made it so (though they certainly did put it over the top!).
Wishing the best to a beautiful couple. |
Wow! That looks like the best wedding party ever.
Those centerpieces for the tables are jaw-droppingly-fantastic! The cake looks gorgeous and I hope someone posts a nice close up of it, too. Kudos to the planners, attendees and it looks like everyone had a great time. Congrats to all and thanks for sharing the photos  |
I was able to tell DP at the end of the night the ultimate complement - it couldn't have gone better. :D
Danced my ass off, marveled at the theming, and was filled with the warmth of this so-obviously-right union. The swanky turnout guaranteed that this would be a fun gathering as well. Too. Much. Fun. Congrats kids, we love you. |
Looks amazing. I can't imagine all the work that went into it. Best of all they look so incredibly happy!
Congratluations! |
I will sound in with what everyone else has said, an amazing, magical event. It was a honor and pleasure to be there. Had a great, great time.
|
Best Wedding Ever!
I'm still on a high from all of the love that filled the site. There was not one thing that went wrong with this most beautiful day and ithe entire event was absolutely AMAZING! I'll never get over the centerpieces! There are not enough words to describe the detail and the beauty of them. It was a PERFECT celebration for a WONDERFUL couple! Congratultions Ken and Teresa! It was an amazing day and I was so happy to share it with you. |

(Cross post)
In addition to the center pieces, each favor was themed to the attraction as well. The Haunted Mansion table got tombstones filled with autumn leaf chocolate as well as a skeleton, the Alice table got mineature teacups, TSI - galvinized buckets, Pirates - Treasure Chests, Matterhorn - snowballs, etc. The centerpieces were also each placed on themed fabric cloths. We also got assigned to our tables by opening a secret envelope after the ceremony. Inside were reproduction Disneyland "E" tickets with our "attraction" circled. Our place cards were reproductions of a esplanade stone (printed on magnets) with our names and the date on them and the initials of the bride and groom with the wedding bells pic at the top. We also got a 2 CD set/booklet - "A musical Journey of Love and Laughter" - that includes some great pictures. It's all absolutely amazing. |
Quote:
(And, heheh, I could not help but be personally tickled when I realized this was all going on to the unique musical accompaniment of Fantasbelievremembric!) These were not mere decorations ... they put the party in motion with an amazing activity of discovery and appreciation. And let's not forget all the theme-matching material bases and party favors. Oh, and Esplanade Brick place markers, and CD sets and ....it all really set La Mood. And then, ah, the swanky company of guaranteed good times ... and most of all, as someone put it better than I ever could, the evening ... Quote:

What a great party!
Teresa and Ken, what a great beginning for the next great adventure of your life! I feel so honored that I could share the evening with you. Your efforts to make it a magical night for everyone are greatly appreciated. It was magic, nothing less. |
I'm exhausted. Fun party!
I still haven't taken a shower or got dressed. |

was it a time warp? LOL |
I had to ice my knee this afternoon. It seems time warps, twists and rock lobsters don't get along with my aging knee.
|
Heheh, my knee is busted up, too.
but i ended up with the garter. here's hoping there's something to it. whatever happens tho, it's more than i got for Rock Lobster ... and i'm not sure which incident bashed my knee up more. |
I'm so thrilled that everything turned out so perfectly! I love the centerpieces; I knew from all the prep posts that they were going to be something very special, but.....wow!!!!:snap:
Too cool- wtg all who helped Ken and Theresa throw such a wonderful event, and my most heartfelt congratulations to the happy and oh-so-perfect for each other couple. There really is magic in real life sometimes, isn't there?:) |
What an amazing celebration. Everything was perfect! The theming and little touches were just fantastic. Teresa was a beautiful bride and Ken was a dashing groom. Kevin is a great DJ and Susan makes the most delicious cake. There was definate magic in the air last night as we celebrated the ment-to-be marriage of Teresa and Ken.
Here are more pics of the center pieces. |
Link no workie BtD :(
|
*applause* a great time was surely had by all. a pity I had to dead-head back home afterward. it was well into 3am by the time I finally chilled enough to sleep.
the decorations and ceremony were all something I'll not soon forget. outstanding work and a pat on the back to all involved. |
Fix the link, BTD! I wants to see more of the pretty pictures!:D
|
Sorry guys, was having technical issues.
Stupid IT department. Oh wait... |
You realise, of course, that you're all going to have to do it all over again once I'm there.
Gosh. What a celebration. :D |
One other cool thing about the ceremony is that it happened right at sunset. As they were doing the hand fasting, bats were flying about in the sky and an owl was hooting in the background.
Earlier in the day, while we were setting up, we found several tiny frogs leaping about the grounds. I had one in my hands and, later, Nephy picked one up. They were adorable! |
OMG - How amazing. I'm so bummed I had to miss it. I've seen but a fraction of the pics and can't wait to see more.
Congrats again ! |

OMG... the (8 y.o.) girl who caught the bouquet was freakin' when she found that catching the bouquet meant she ws the next to get married. Too funny.
And sorry to all: I guess I did spend a little too much time in the eighties (musically speaking). Gotta discover that pesky 21st Century. |
Damn... It sounds like I truly missed the event of the ages...
 to a wonderful couple |
I ran into her a bit later and tried to convince her to come back to the table with me so she could get married. She ran away into the bar screaming... too bad for her I was going in there for some water. She ran out the door and right into her parents. Poor kid is going to be in therapy for that.
And KB - the 80s music was awesome! Boingo < Hollaback Girl any time. |

Oh, but thanks for reaching into the Sixties for "I'm a Believer" ... my favorite wedding party song ever. |
it was hilarious to watch the pre-teens faces when Time Warp fired up. mass of LoT'ers and kin all sync'ed up and singing word for word, dancing step for step. the kids were all standing in the doorway of the serving area looking like they'd just walked through a time warp themselves.
 kids.... |
Congratulations to the happy couple!
|
I thought the music was great - except for the Dolly Parton nonsense and that song about Big Butts (that I had never heard before, but Nephy knows ALL of the words!). ;) Thank you for blaming me for Dolly Parton. Nice way to kill the Clash.
Did I tell the cake whore story yet? Or that I got to dance with Borneio to a very sexy Brian Ferry song? I want to have another even just like this one SOON! |

There were 4 different flavors of SUPER YUMMY cake that Susan (gus gus) had made. Jimmy hod procured me a slice of the "Churro" flavor and I was enjoying that, but realized I really wanted to try the others. Neph had 2 other flavors on her plate - Chocolate Covered Banana and Strawberry Shortcake - but neither of us had tasted the Dole Whip flavor. So we went from table to table begging for dole whip until we actually found some to taste. Cake Whores.

The only thing that made us sad on Saturday was realizing just how much more fun it would be to have all of you there at our wedding in Michigan. But we've come up with a fun way to have you sort of "with us," and we'll discuss that later. I guess I'll just have to be satisfied with a party on each coast. (Sigh!) And, NA, if you were a cake whore, then I am a cake madonna. Heh. I actually started sharing bites of my Dole Whip as soon as I heard that Tom got the last piece. |

|
Sooooo, Frogie, which one were you? I can't believe you were there and didn't croak out your name!
|
I know I'm about a day late talking about the music - but I've decided that it's officially okay to cease ANY conversation to sing the main chorus of "Sweet Caroline" and that without having to say anything, all parties to a conversation are to automatically belt it out.
|
Congrats!
|
Having just walked in my front door, I think I might be the last guest to make it home. :)
I have to say this. I played a wedding the next day as well. It was fine as far as weddings go but it was still a major letdown in comparison and I couldn't help but make comparisons to the day before, in what had to be the most swanky and delightful wedding I've ever had the pleasure to play at or attend. I can't imagine another one ever even coming close. It was so wonderful to see all of you. Never has their been so much love in one place. I'm still coming down from the experience. Simply awesome. |

The night before the wedding, I was out with some friends at a pub in San Pedro called The Whale and Ale. It wasn't enough that there was the wedding the next day, or that I'd just received a cell call from zapppop telling me his sibling had just gotten married hours earlier, but this entire pub was taken over by a drunken wedding party after their rehearsal dinner for nuptuals the very next day. At one point, they were obnoxiously belting out the non-words to many brass-filled songs, among them "Sweet Caroline." It was truly awful. Drunken boars with no decent voices in the lot. We were laughing at them, and then at ourselves for all the times we remembered ... when we were young and roudier and would have done the same. So the next night, at the wedding, when I was pretty drunk myself, the opportunity to belt out the non-words to "Sweet Caroline" was such a personal hoot for me ... and I was laughing so hard, I could barely scream the "Bah-Bah-Bah"s in the most drunken off-key voice I could manage! Hahahahahahaha! That was a great episode ... and I don't think there was a moment during the evening that I wasn't having classic time o'life!    (by the way ... were we at high altitude or something? 'Cause I was way more plastered on two glasses of wine than I would usually get ... at either sea level or normal happiness level) |

To continue on the Sweet Caroline tangent... I was out with some co-workersa few weeks ago and the very same thing happened! But, the wedding made it official. People who don't get face time like co-workers do - stopping it all to belt out Sweet Caroline - makes it all the more official to me.
I wonder what other songs fall into that catagory - Kevy? |
It wasn't the centerpieces, but people like you guys who made it the most magical evening ever!
I'll talk more when we get back - gotta pack for the honeymoon! :) |

Nothing prevalent comes to mind. Other than some songs that are relevent to individuals families, I can't recall anything. The only one that comes to mind is "American Pie" (the song by Don Maclean, not the movie). |
How about that "I'd like to teach the world to sing" one?
Hokey-Pokey? The Barney "I Love You" song? |
Quote:
|
My most sincere and humble apologies for desecrating this thread with the mention of the Barnster.
|
I keep trying to think of more beyond American Pie, and I have come to realize that it's just me - I belt out tunes when I've had a drink or two. Since I know a considerable number of songs - it increases the odds that I'll make a stage out of my barstool.
That's just me, though... |
I stopped a conversation with Zap in DTD today to belt out "Ain't there one damn song that can make me break down a cry".
|
Great. Now I've got that song going through my head. Beats Barney, though.
|
How about YMCA or "Shout!"
|
What about "Deep In The Heart Of Texas"? :)
|
I've been singing THAT DAMN song all week since Chris is in San Antonio.

T - Because I figure you will be reading this when you get back, I showed off your center pieces to a former Disney CM co-worker of mine. He was awstruck and called them amazing.
|
I think we're thinking of songs that EVERYONE just sings - not just me... or you. Universally "stop what you're doing and belt it, baby!" songs....
"Deep In the Heart of Texas" might be one of them..... BUT... How often do we ever get a chance to do that? OK - wow, major derail - I hope no one minds... I much like that our group has the potential to sustain threads for pages upon pages..... |

I hope they have the good sense to politely blow off the MiceChatters for some prime honeymooning in Florida.
It may not be apparent to all, but DisneyWorld can be a VERY romantic place for couples in loooove. (But do you really want micechatters scurrying underfoot when you're at the consumating pinnacle of your honeymoon??) |

And, Disney spent the week kissing my possibly broken ass. ;) And poor Ken spent the week having to play caretaker for me, and will still be doing that for a little while once we have the x-rays done. The wedding went perfect, so of course the universe had to balance that out with the honeymoon. So, there's a teaser. :p On a good note, we re-booked the transatlantic cruise while onboard and saved over $1,000. So, we've dubbed next August's vacation, "Honeymoon - the Redeux." ;) |
Egads!
Well, at least it seems you kept your good humor through the ordeal (or at least regained it afterwards). Much better than making things worse by wallowing in it. Glad you're back, hope your backside heals well, and may things only get better! |

Wow, very sorry to hear of your injury and hope you make a full and speedy recovery!

Part 1 - “Bright Star to the Right (Starboard), and Straight On to the Medical Center” It was about 12:30 on Monday afternoon, and Ken and I were enjoying a bit of sunshine up on Deck 10. He was reading, I was lounging in my brand new Mickey swimsuit and terry cloth cover up that we just bought the night before while onboard. I was kicked back, looking out over the ocean and listening to my iPod. Ken tapped me on the shoulder after 10 minutes, saying he was bored (not surprising), so he was going down to the movie theater to watch “Cars”. He left all our stuff with me, figuring I’d still be there when the movie was over. About 10 minutes later, I noticed we were heading into some really dark clouds, so I quickly packed up our stuff and proceeded towards the nearest doors, my arms full of stuff. The downpour hit just seconds later, blocking my vision, and I stepped into a large puddle that just accumulated on the deck, about 12 feet from the door…… and WHAM!!! I came right down on my lower back, with nothing to break the fall, because I was holding all our stuff (camera, book, sodas, etc.) Searing pain rocketed through my spine, and I tried to get up and couldn’t. I screamed, “My back! I can’t get up! My back!” A nearby cocktail server saw me and picked up the emergency phone, telling me to stay where I was. I rolled over to my side to alleviate the pressure, and laid there holding on to the nearby railing that overlooks the adult pool area below, which all the people down there were now staring at me. Another CM arrived, and a guest who was a first response nurse from Iowa who offered to help. They piled towels on top of me to keep me warm and dry, and held my head so I couldn’t move my neck, and the other held my lower back. Another CM came over, pulled my cruise ID from my lanyard (thankfully I had been wearing it), and said, “Teresa, you’ll be ok. You’re going to hear a loud announcement about ‘Bright Star’, and then you’ll be surrounded by about 20 cast members who will be helping you. Just don’t get overwhelmed – they are coming to help.” A few seconds later, the broadcast interrupted everything on the ship – staterooms, the movie theater, etc. – “Attention all ship staff. We have a bright star on Deck 10 fore starboard! Once again, bright star, deck 10, fore starboard.” Soon after, I was surrounded by two medical crew, some cocktail servers, a couple ship’s officers (both in and out of uniform – one of them was off that day and lounging in the nearby sauna), a few food servers, and other crew that have been trained in emergency response. Then, they brought out the backboard and start strapping me to it (ugh), and a wheeled stretcher, on which one side would not lock………. (to be continued) Part 2 - “Having a Nice Trip!” After being immobilized on the backboard, about 6 guys lifted me onto the stretcher, which instantly collapsed on the left side, turning me about 30 degrees sideways. Ow. Finally, they just decided to support my weight on that side, and we began the journey to the elevators. I now know why the mid-ship elevators are longer than the fore and aft – it’s so they can accommodate a stretcher. The bad side of that – they’re glass on one side, and completely visible to everyone from the main lobby atrium. The other bad side – to access it from Deck 10, you have to enter the teen club. So, after trekking through a gaggle of curious teenagers, we made it into the elevator for the descent to Deck 1, which descended my tiny bit of remaining pride further with each floor we passed. Being one of the busiest elevators, it stopped at a couple other floors along the way to the response of waiting guests, “Um, we’ll take the next one.” Once we arrived on Deck 1, the stretcher would not go through the main door of the medical center, so we took a turn beyond the doors marked “Crew Members Only”…….. (to be continued) |
OMG! Geeeeezz! Hope you're feeling better!
|
|
Oh no! This is sounding REALLY horrible! Gentle, non-crunching hugs coming your way.
|
OMG! DP! This sounds terrible! I hope that you are feeling better now and the x-rays show no permanent damage.
Now forgive me while I munch some popcorn and await the next installment. Welcome back! Snowflake P.S. We wants pictures, too! |

OMG!!!!
Well, um, this will make a great story to tell your grandkids. T - I am sooo sorry. What an awful thing ... after all the joy you and Ken brought us and, yes, most of us are still riding high on. Ok, but, um .... more of the story. I'm on pins and needles. |
You'll always be our "Bright Star" from now on !
PS: Thinking of you - hope things aren't too painful !!!! *hugs* |
owie- owie owie owie!
I thought of you often while you were away- and I did not ever picture this! Owie! Welcome back though- you've been missed. |
OMG... not a broken coccyx, I hope.
|
Part 3 - "A Dream is a Wish Your Butt Makes"
I've always wanted to see non-guest areas of the ship, and at that point, I got my wish. Although, all I could see was the ceiling, which was unfinished, with numerous pipes running overhead. A few twists and turns later and we were finally in a large medical room, and they unstrapped me and transferred me onto the bed. I was very scared, in much pain, and soaked from the rainwater and spilled sodas that permeated my new swimsuit and cover-up. Once I told them that it was only my lower back and bottom that hurt, the rolled me onto my side to inspect my back by applying pressure. The doctor was confident that I didn't sustain any grave injury to my spine, and that treatment and full diagnosis could wait until I could get home to my doctor. They inserted an IV catheter into my hand and gave me 60 mgs of some kind of pain reliever and gave me two Tylenol 3 with codeine. The ship's director of guest services (I'll refer to him as the DGS from this point forward) was unable to locate Ken via a shipwide page (apparently that announcement didn't interrupt the movie theater). So, I gave him a description, and off he went to track down my new husband to deliver the "in sickness" part of the classic wedding vow........ |
Ufdah!
|
Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry and hope you're feeling better.

Also - if any of you don't mind, can I use some of the photos you've all posted? |
I am so glad you're back home, and safe even after all that. Again, the wedding was beautiful. I, like Nephy, would love to read the vows again. I was so moved... moved like I haven't been in years.
/hugs |
I posted some pics from the Bachlor Party on myspace. The group pics are from Kevy. ;) No nudity or strippers or anything. Kevy kept his pants on, thankfully....

Awesome pics!!!! :D
I love how Ken's dad is the only one not smiling. I'm SO not surprised. Heh. I know I have more of the story to tell, but I've been busy all day. But, I did get a voicemail at home from someone in at Disney Cruise's Risk Management Department. I'll have to call her back tomorrow. I'd never do anything that would hurt the cruise line, but hey.... if they want to throw in some perks to make the Honeymoon Redeux a bit more magical, I certainly wouldn't complain. Afterall, the rest of our honeymoon really did suck (and not in a good way) from that moment on. |

I tried it again and it let me this time. You guys smiled enough to make up for Mr. Happyface. Looks like you had fun!

Also, our wonderful photographer (NGU) took a picture of my MIL's butt as she was bending over. I'm sure we can all come up with several nicknames from that too. ;) |
Wow! What a trip. Welcome back!
Err, umm, no scratch that... I mean Welcome home! Yeah that's better.... I have a quick story for you.... Just after the photos of your grand day came out, I ran across a fellow that is planning his "Disney wedding". I said to him, "Oh, you are? Here let me show you some photos of a friends wedding...." "Oh that's OK", he replied "We already have things perfectly planned." I ignored him, pulled up the photos from micechat on his PC..... whump! (<- Sound of his jaw hitting the ground). Pause, pause pause, drool, drool, drool.... (<- his nonverbal response) "Wow! That gives me some really great ideas, thanks!" My work here is done. |

Ya know, this could be a perfect business for someone to get into, custom designed Disney weddings like this! I admit, when I saw the photos I was totally B-L-O-W-N A-W-A-Y. |
I agree- DP. You could give people Disney weddings without making them go bankrupt. ;)
|
Oh god... I still must say, I don't think anyone else can ever have a Disney wedding. Ever. Again. Don't any of you think about it unless you're actually having the wedding AT Disneyworld, or have an imagineer working for you. Just. Don't.
Ideas are ideas, execution is something else. I do wish them well on planning their wedding - just let them know it took MONTHS of solid and hard work, and a lot of help from friends to pull it off. I can't even begin to imagine the time, effort and love poured into the decorations and everything else that went into DP & FPs wedding. Maybe that's where the magic came from. :) Awww... warm fuzzies. |

It really was the help of friends who made it magical. Anyone can make a centerpiece, but it takes a collective effort of wonderful energy to really make some magic. :)

Oh, wait, you're talking about my butt...... Thankfully only badly bruised, however, my lower back is straightened, where it is supposed to curve. It flattened itself out when I hit, and that explains the very limited range of motion, plus the muscle spasms I've been having. :( |
