M&Ms game - 50 Dark Movies, Hidden in a Painting

I got this in an email, and my husband and I just got done playing this. It's a painting where there are hidden visual clues to the titles of 50 "dark" (not necessarily horror, in my opinion) movies. You click on the image where you think you know the answer. If the answer is correct, it will turn green and then disappear. If it's wrong, it'll turn red and then wait for another answer. The box to enter an answer will only pop up if you click on a spot that requires an answer. We had a lot of fun. Enjoy!

Love it. :D

Cool game!

JWBear 10-22-2006 09:26 AM

I've gotten 31 so far.

JWBear 10-22-2006 11:09 AM

Found them all (with a little help from Bill)!!!

Matterhorn Fan 10-22-2006 03:58 PM

I found 25, which isn't bad considering I haven't seen many of the ones I found.

Jughead P. Jones 10-22-2006 07:50 PM

This is a wicked cool game! Even if it is really hard.

I can figure out about half of them...but on others, they're really very cryptic.

CoasterMatt 10-22-2006 07:52 PM

I finished it - in 13:33 seconds... but it was REALLY freakin' tough.

Not Afraid 10-22-2006 07:55 PM

My references are too obscure - and mostly wrong.

For example:
Grim Reaper = Seventh Seal.

That's not the answer.

Dork.

CoasterMatt 10-22-2006 07:57 PM

It reminded me a LOT of stuff I used to see in Games Magazine waaaay back in the early 80s.

Snowflake 10-22-2006 08:23 PM

Very cool game, but it's not nearly as easy as I thought. I'll keep slogging away. It's making me feel really kinda dumb because I think I should probably see the more obvious ones right off the bat

The husband came up with the answer to that one. I don't know if I would have gotten it.

CoasterMatt 10-22-2006 09:35 PM

The "obvious" ones were the toughest for me in a couple of cases.

JWBear 10-22-2006 10:35 PM

Some of them are really bad puns....

cstephens 10-23-2006 12:02 AM

I've created a page so that you can look up only the answer(s) you want. Here's the link.

LSPoorEeyorick 10-23-2006 08:09 AM

I work for a company that does web content/design so this one was passed around when it came out-- so addictive! But I finally got all of them in 43 minutes or so. (Eventually got so I could type them in fast enough to make the high-scores for that day.)

Jughead P. Jones 10-23-2006 08:41 AM

Well, it took me a while, but I found all 50 in a time of just under 25 minutes. LOL!

I got really confused with one of them, because I thought one of them was a TV Show...little did I know that there was a movie of it too.

oooo thanks for that. It confirmed that I wasn't going to get the rest of them anyhow so I could move on with my life.

blueerica 10-23-2006 02:55 PM

Dang! I came up with 39/50 on my own, and was totally surprised with the answers. Thanks for sharing this one!

lashbear 10-23-2006 07:34 PM

We found the hardest to solve were:

Spoiler:
  • Blue Velvet - never heard of it
  • Childs Play
  • The Grudge
  • 12 monkeys - never heard of it
  • The [six] sixth [cents] sense *groan*
  • the [O - men] Omen *Double Groan*

We got all the others. :D

I declare a David Lynch Movie Night for Lashbear when he comes out

CoasterMatt 10-23-2006 09:42 PM

I'm hosting the David Lynch movie night at the Nuclear Muffin Test Kitchen :D

blueerica 10-23-2006 10:09 PM

BAH! My post got eaten by the INTRAWEBZ cat from the other thread....

Anyhow, Yeah... I'm kinda shocked and stuff. Lash needs to see Blue Velvet. Oh, the post just isn't as good as it was 30 minutes ago when I meant to have it posted...

Yeah, they cheated. They used the name of the TV show rather than the actual full title of the movie.

lashbear 10-29-2006 05:24 PM

OK, I'll bite... the Dead Zone ?

CoasterMatt 10-29-2006 06:13 PM

I think she means "Twin Peaks" - the movie name was "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me"

Capt Jack 10-29-2006 10:07 PM

that was fun. I got to 40 before I cheated. :D

Oh, right, I forgot that's a TV show too, but the TV show name is identical to the movie name, right?

And yes, I was referring to "Twin Peaks".
