40 years ago today, CBS premiered It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

"There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people: religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin."

One day when I'm old and bitter and don't care about getting my property damaged I'm going to give rocks to trick-or-treaters with lousy costumes. Poor Charlie Brown!

Everyone must see this. Not really good for work.

and Im sad to say I saw that premier (in B&W) and actually remember it well.

Great. Just what we need: yet another depiction of the pentacle as a symbol for evil. :sigh:

Eh, you lost that fight as soon as the Satanists began using it. Kind of like all other uses of the swastika became tainted regardless of origin.

I actually missed it {when I started watching it on t.v. it was already colorized} and we were telling the Boy about it. We couldn't remember him watching it for years but then he said 'All I got was a rock'.

Ah, my heart fluttered. We have done some things right. :)

I have it on Tivo at home. Always a must see...every year.
