Happy Fat Tuesday

I almost went through this day without wishing everyone a happy mardis gras!

I had forgotten it myself until this morning when I was treated to some donouts in honor of Fat Tuesday. So I urge all of you to indulge yourselves tonight, regardless of your religious persuasion - Lassez les bon temps roulez - or something like that.

Scrooge McSam 02-08-2005 08:38 PM

Merci, cher

MerryPrankster 02-08-2005 08:59 PM

I'm feeling veeerrrry fat Tuesday today. If only I had some beignets and a Hurricane to make it official.

Happy Mardi Gras!!

blueerica 02-08-2005 09:18 PM

Oh damn.. I forgot to be decadent all day.

BarTopDancer 02-08-2005 09:21 PM

Oh thank goodness I read this after I was all jammied up. I would so go to the store right now and buy munchie relief. munch munch much. I could so be PacGirl right now.

The night is young - especially for you on the coast. I just cracked open an airplane bottle of Hennessy to toast you and spur you on fellow swanker!

Prudence 02-08-2005 09:35 PM

Mmmmmmm. Doughnut.

belleh5 02-08-2005 09:42 PM

I totally forgot, until Ellen came on this afternoon:D

Happy Mardi Gras!!

Gemini Cricket 02-08-2005 09:45 PM

Nah...speaking from personal experience, it's F-A-T!! :D

I will eat, drink and be merry! For tomorrow I may die or go to Lenten Mass.

Baileykat 02-08-2005 10:13 PM

Shoot! I totally forgot!

I was going to make beignets this morning....warm beignets and cofffee!

Yummers!

Only better when served at Cafe Du Monde! Sitting on the patio...sipping cafe au lait....yum! :coffee:

I totally fell in love with New Orleans when we were there a couple of years ago...I hear it calling me to come visit!!!

Yeah, see, when you said that.. Well, I wasn't thinking about overweight people..

Decadent indeed!

I was IMing with a friend of mine on the East coast. It was moments before midnight, and I told him, he had 11 minutes to be decadent. He told me he had a roommate. LOL

Lol!

I can't believe I'd forgotten it was Mardi Gras! Now I have an excuse for cracking open that bottle of wine in the firdge, besides trying to chase away the horrible aftertaste of "Are We There Yet"? (The Girl forced us to take her to it- suckola majoris). I tried to dissuade her, saying it got terrible reviews- now she thinks whoever reviewed it is stupid, because it was just great! (Insert puking smilie here).

Yes, it did. I had to eat a few Tums just so I could drink some wine. Horrible, but I do know what I am giving up for Lent: Ice whatever-the-hell-his-name-is....

Motorboat Cruiser 02-09-2005 12:50 AM

Well, the extent of our decadence was trying a couple of shots of an Irish Honey liquer called Celtic Crossing. It was delicious. :)

Claire 02-09-2005 07:01 AM

What's weird is that yesterday I fully intended to give up my tea.....it's black chai and makes my teeth icky.

But now it's 6 a.m., I have to be across town at 8:15, and my tea tastes woooonderful!

We celebrated Fat Tuesday with Coolio! My ex's band opened for Coolio downtown last night, so we hung with freaking Coolio on Fat Tuesday. He's pretty cool, normal.

Baileykat 02-09-2005 07:12 AM

Claire is so cool! Or coolio! :)

Ghoulish Delight 02-09-2005 09:56 AM

I believe eating something bacon-wrapped and downing it with a beer counts, right? Oh wait, I'm Jewish, I can be decadent every day still :D

Not Afraid 02-09-2005 11:00 AM

I drove Coolio around in a golf cart one day. I totally forgot about that until now!

Morning, Ms. Random Thought.

I went to a FAbulous Mardi Gras Party last night. My friend Katherine recently got a house, and what a house! She's had some success as a writer the last few years and spent her money well! She had king cakes fedexed from New Orleans, there was jambalaya, crawfish etoufeé, hunky bartenders (I drank way too much diet coke,) a Mardi Gras band showed up, one of the New Orleans Saints dropped by for a while, and Katherine's aunt Barbara (Eden) was there. Probably 60 or 70 people showed up and no police. My best moment was when a group of people found out that I was the one that brought the Red Pepper Parmesan ThinKrisps and declared that I was better than a Barbara Eden sighting!

When someone asked me what the "short" mardi gras greeting was, (laissez les blah, blah, blah being too much for them,) the part of my brain apparently affected by a heretofore unknown stroke blurted out, "Show us your tits!"

Yep! That's what I remember hearing everywhere except the corner of Bourbon and St. Ann. There in the "Fruit Loop" you're more likely to hear "Show us your Richard!!", or something to that effect.

WOW!! Your friend Katherine really knows how to entertain. Even Martha Stewart would be proud. :) I'm willing to bet that a few guests didn't make it into work today.

Btw, how does Barbara Eden look these days? I always thought she was a very swanky kitten.

Dude, I'd trade Coolio for some fresh crab cakes, Barbara Eden and some GOOD jambalaya anyday!!!!! FUN!!!

And I'm proud of myself.....got many beads, without lifting a shirt. ;)

Exactly the way you'd hope Barbara Eden would look, and nice to boot!

I saw a pic of her a few days ago, and she is aging very gracefully. Very pretty lady.
