We all have em. Sometimes I wonder why we pick the one's we do.

Mine right now, for instance, is a reflection on my current passion, writing the book I hope to publish.

I'm also very taken with JWBear's current Avatar, little pipe toting tyke. What's is the story behind that? If you can't or don't want to answer, I'm good with that, too.

While I'm at it, the snowflake handle is having everything to do with the Nutcracker sequence in Fantasia and I'll go back to a themed avatar at some point I guess.

If I'm going to post a picture of me, I just can't choose one that is serious. I just look so stupid in this particular picture, I couldn't help but make it my avatar. Besides, this is a close as I'll come to ever allowing pics of me in a baithing suit on line. ;)

I'm sure I'm wrong, but it appeared right when he posted about his dad's passing. After reading the short biography about him, I always assumed that the avatar was an old photo of his dad. No idea if it's true, but it seemed always seemed to jive with the story the bio told. *shrug*

Mine right now is me despearately clinging to summer and one thoroughly enjoyable weekend. Plus, I'm too lazy to change it very often.

My avatars are as random as my moods.
My current avatar, which may change any minute, is a character from a Spongebob cartoon that made me laugh a great deal. Seeing it makes me lol.

I grew up with Mad magazine. In past years, though, I rarely bought it.

I saw this one and I almost fell over in the store laughing.

Alfred and Earl combined. Oh, I think Earl is a funny show {and I know around here that may put me in a minority}.

Heck no, we watch Earl. It's hillarious.

Halloween was over so I needed something else, so I borrowed an existing Avatat from last New Year's Eve to tie me over till I figure something out.

The Commodore is a backstage picture from a production of "Company." The look is from the Charles Nelson Reilly collection, circa Match Game '75. He's the swankiest guy I've ever been.

I never had an avatar before this one. I only put it up because GC was getting freaked out when everyone changed their avatars at the same time. I haven't changed it since.

It's also my way of saying "this is how I photograph Spaceship Earth until Disney takes that stupid arm down." In other words, please, Disney, take that stupid thing down.

Well, I have a theme now. My avatar and profile pics both show tongue.

My avatar is a picture of Strangler Lewis, pioneering wrestler and author of Babbitt, Elmer Gantry and other classics about American bluster that could not be more timely.

Actually, it's me. We were going through some of my dad's stuff and found the picture. I had never seen it before, and I thought it would make a great avatar.

Mines an actual Guest Of Honor badge that Mammasilva had made for me. I'm desperately trying to find it again to wear to the meet (It vanished in the move.. maybe still in a box somewhere in the garage :eek: )

What the hell is mine nowadays?

Mine's a crop of a great photo I snapped in January of some of my favorite characters. I don't usually like to have a photo of myself as my avatar. I've this one for a long time, though, so I should probably change it at some point.

I need to change mine, but I have to be at home to do that...

Mine is a pin up photo that I cropped... and I just love pin up pics! So retro - sexy yet not explicit.

Okay - so I thought I had a different avatar... that was my old one. This one is Pirate Wench - the cover of an old paperback book I saw online and liked. She's still retro - but swashbuckling too!

Ah yes... the "Mutton Munchers" sign. Saw this at the LA County Fair and HAD to snap a photo to make an avatar.

Mine's Billy Joe Armstrong from Green Day. Something about it just appeals to me. That, and it was one of the few I had available back when we were switching avies to freak out GC.:D

EDIT: Oh, yes... Of course it's related to Star Wars...in this case the ridiculous (but oddly hilarious) Padme story arc in the prequels...Yeah, she was a Senator...for a whole planet...:rolleyes:

Mine is a typical Archie comics cover. Some may say I have an obsession with these comic books...and they would be right.

This avatar is a shot of "Jughead and Friends" Digest #10.

I've had mine since a couple of group avatar updates ago. It's a collage made up from all (or most) of your avatars at the time.

We snapped this shot outside the Lego store in DTD a couple months back. They have these lights in the pavement and it was impossible to resist. I knew it would be my Halloween avatar. :) Haven't had time to dig up something new since.

We took a similar shot of Gemini Cricket in DCA, which he used as his Halloween avatar.

You guys remind me of the Council at the beginning of Superman: The Movie.

And I have to say that it is the COOLEST freakin' avatar!!!

And yet we'll never know who was left out, because of the small size..... ;)

Both of which have been lodged in scaeagles' sphincter from time to time.

Boy is obessed with Pokemon, with them releasing 2 new DS games.

I started using this avatar in the summer so I suppose it's time to find a new one (or go back to the old lindyhoppers pic). Or I could just wait until it's summer again.

Well, if my book ever comes to fruition and gets published, I'll be shameless and have the cover as my avatar

The software program I used (which I think I found via a post from CP) to assemble the image does that to make them better fit the original image.

WHEN your book is published we'll all (or at least I will) use it as an Avatar!

Your mileage may vary...


OK, fine I estimated. The original is a very silly 59.163MB and I cut it down by a little more than half prior to posting.

Although I do have a compete set of Pokemon cards and rules set aside in the revenge grand kids box. That's the one I will bring out someday to share with any grand kids to the horror delight of their parents.

I have to confess I'm too lazy to come up with my own Avatar. As infrequently as it changes, I still pretty much never find it for myself ... rather relying on - of all people - zapppop to come up with images for me to use.






Guess it's a good thing I remain mostly on his good side. ;)
