Greetings, Earthlings

I come in peace.

It's only fair to tell you that I'm hooked into anthropologists studying the internet. I'm a participant/observer. Relax, swanky ones; this won't hurt a bit.

Not Afraid 12-18-2006 10:17 AM

Well, you're welcome to participate as much and as often as you'd like. We may skew your study, though. Things are a tad out of the norm over here.

It's good to hear from you again! Welcome!

Scrooge McSam 12-18-2006 10:20 AM

A twinkle of moonlight caught her eyes as she glanced at them. "3894 .... or Helen."

And I'm switching Cousin Not Afraid's drinkie out with some :coffee: I have a raging headache.

Cadaverous Pallor 12-18-2006 11:55 AM

The detective leaned into the glare of the monitor. "These numbers are definitely familiar."
"Three-eight-nine four," murmured the rookie. "What could it mean?"
"Tell you what, kid," grunted his balding counterpart, "why don't you get me a cup o' joe while I think about it, huh?"
As the younger man walked out, the hardened detective let his face relax. He sat in silence for one moment, two, three. There was no preventing it, the name had to be said, and eventually he let it slip like a ghost into the room:

"Helen."

Nephythys 12-18-2006 11:55 AM

WOW!

I used to LOVE your sig lines- glad to see you- welcome!

This is how the kids are doing it now?

Same from me, CP!

Strangler Lewis 12-18-2006 01:33 PM

I don't understand any of this.

Scrooge McSam 12-18-2006 01:40 PM

Strangler,

3894 (Helen) was a member of another board a lot of us used to frequent. She was well known for her imaginative sig lines, similar to CP's post above.

Do an advanced search, sorting chronologically and start reading from the earliest post to somewhere around Memorial Day 2003 - we can fill in any gaps after that

Nephythys 12-18-2006 01:44 PM

wow- what a trip down memory lane. :snap:

So long ago-wow. I've been with you guys for 3 years plus- many forums and still going.

I have fond memories of those sigs-marvelous things. Inspired some writing of my own in fact.

3894 12-18-2006 02:06 PM

Moonliner, you sweet thang.

Cadaverous Pallor! Honey, I always knew you had It.

Nephythys, thanks and it's terrific that you're a writer, too.

For those who don't know me, the shorthand version is that I'm a vintage broad (more Endora than Mrs. Doubtfire) who some here know from a Disney message board.

Stan4dSteph 12-18-2006 02:09 PM

Hello there. :)

Capt Jack 12-18-2006 02:10 PM

welcome
...and from what I can gather
welcome back (sorta)

:coffee:

Hiya but sorry no idea. When I think of bartop dancers, I think of Pee Wee Herman in those white shoes dancing to "Tequila". Tell me tell me tell me who you are.

Nephythys 12-18-2006 03:09 PM

Parts of her are made of rubber and springs and the most wonderful thing is she's the only one.

Motorboat Cruiser 12-18-2006 06:43 PM

Sorry, a little late to the welcome party here but...

Welcome to the LoT! I remember you from a few years back, although I wasn't a very prolific poster back then so I understand if you draw a blank with my username. :)

innerSpaceman 12-18-2006 08:14 PM

I'm having an acid flashback, right???

scaeagles 12-18-2006 08:16 PM

I once asked you for advice on perhaps purchasing a Beagle for my children.

We are still dogless.

Not because of bad advice or anything. Because we haven't the time to be good dog owners.

Cadaverous Pallor 12-18-2006 09:04 PM

So tell us, how is Bill Catherall? We've got Alex already, so he's the last one I'd want to pull on over.

You need to check out the Open Mic board. It's right up your alley, kitten. :snap:

lindyhop 12-18-2006 09:11 PM

CoasterMatt 12-18-2006 09:24 PM
