Merry Christmas, LoT!
A very Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good Night!
I just wanted to say how very much I care for you all, and I hope with all my heart that you have a wonderful and magical Holiday season! Personally, I'd just like the use of my left index finger back, but that's not important right now... Merry Holidays, everyone! |
Merry Christmas Wendy!
And Happy Holidays to all my LoT friends. I wish you all Joy and Peace this Holiday and in the coming New Year! Though it was a sucky 2006, it wouldn't have been the same without all of you in this swanky little community. Merry Christmas Everyone!! |

And it's now officially Christmas. I'm up wrapping and knitting and the spousal unit is long since asleep. I think this is a shadow of years to come. (Or, just what happens when an early bird marries a night owl.)
Regardless, a very merry Christmas to you all! |
Merry Christmas to everyone. May Santa leave no coal and you have a wondeful day with whatever it is you do.

(to rephrase from the Soooo thread: )
Christmas has been and gone here in Sydney, we had a wonderful family treat - Greg & I took the family up to the Christmas Night Buffet at Sydney Tower (the tallest building in Sydney). The food was great - the view was WOW !!!! http://www.sydney-tower-restaurant.com/  :D |

Merry Christmas, all. The bacchanalia of the gifts is complete now (at least at this house - grandparents still to come later on), and here's hoping your Christmases were as full of joy as it was for my children.
|
Well, here I am in Joplin, MO, the buckle of the Bible belt. Flew in on Friday (thanks Cherny for the 4 am airport run), and Silver Dollar City on Saturday (thanks Coastermatt for the park info). Christmas Eve Sunday involved a (brace yourselves) Southern Baptist church, visits with relatives, a stop at the real Spring River Farm, and a wonderful party at my aunt Lyla's house. Today, Christmas, had my Grandma waking me up waaay too early. Later we'll go to my aunt Susie's house for dinner. Which in the midwest is lunch. Tomorrow is Lambert's, Home of the Throwed Roll, for dinner (again, not supper) and then onto a plane back home to the Golden State.
I hope all my friends and family on the LoT have a Merry Christmas (whatever your version is ;).) p.s. I found out my uncle Pug was a hobo in the 1930's, stories to follow. |
A very Merry Christmas to all. |
Happy Christmas Swankers and Brothers. May Peace and Joy be yours this glorious day, through the new 2007 and beyond. Enjoy the Love and Consumerism. Frolic and Be Merry!
:iSm: |
Merry Christmas everyone! May your day be filled with love and happiness! :)

Sorry we didn't get anyone else a gift but we saw this at Disneyland and HAD to get it for Flippyshark...
Spoiler:

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
|
Merry Christmas to all. It's a nice drizzly morning. My son and I get to skip church. He because he's three and went yesterday, and I because I have a blessed head cold. Soon we will walk the dog, pick up Grandma at her motel (don't ask) and start making soup.
|
Merry Christmas and HO HO HO to you all!
|
Merry Christmas to everyone!!
Is it wrong to turn away the Jehovahs' Witness telling them you don't want religious solicitation on a very religious holiday? Or is it more wrong for them to come to my home in the a.m. with their solicitations? Hmm. I think I'll stop there. During our toast, the kids chuckled when someone toasted we were healthy, wealthy, and wise. We reminded them, we are wealthy beyond our wildest dreams with all of them about us and what they bring to us. Wait. Maybe they were laughing at the wise? Enjoying the radios flashback Christmas songs. |
Merry Christmas, LoT!
Ah, cold and wet... not the usual way I like my federal holidays, but it fits somehow. I'm just about to curl up on the couch and tivo my way through the WDW Christmas parade. After that, maybe The Beales of Grey Gardens. Tonight's the big Christmas get-together with friends where we exchange gifts and those who've attended family get-togethers get to tell their funny stories of the day. My oldest friend nearly lost her mother a couple of days ago (Mom's much better now and recovering nicely) so I'm anxious to give her a big hug. There will be Wild Turkey. I will probably drink a fair bit of it. |
Merry Christmas to LoT, and to LoT a good night.
|
A very Merry Christmas to everyone here, as well as those who celebrate Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, too!
May everyone get what they want this year...but more importantly, may everyone want what they get. |

Sweet! Will you be shipping that UPS or FedEx? |
Merry merry to all! Just got up from the post-frenzy nap and about to start the roast and have "game night" with some pals. Santa was very generous this year -- perhaps the most fun was the gift of Wii! I already have tennis elbow..:D
|
Santa came to visit last night. He seemed a little discombobulated - but at least now we know how he fits down the chimney...

 Happiest of holidays to all the swankers! May your holidays be filled with joy, it's a joy for me to know you all.
Merry Merry one and all! |
We can't tell is Santa's name is Bob or Jack. Chris thinks it's Bob because he was discomBOBulated. I think it's Jack.

Good day.
Drove up to SF and had dim sum in Chinatown and then found out that Dreamgirls was pretty much sold out all day at the Metreon so drove home and wached it at our local multiplex (I was hoping to double feature it with Children of Men across the street, but it wasn't to be). In the end ended up driving about 70 miles in order to watch the movie five miles from home but it was a very pleasant day. It was a good movie weekend which seems sufficient justification to have co-opted the date from the Mithraists. Stupid Mithraists. |
I'm dying to see Children of Men, but it didn't seem very Christmassy. Instead, after hugely fun family brunch of tons of food, laughter and CranMosa's, we saw Night at the Museum at the Grove. It was cuter than I expected, and a perfect piece of Christmas fluff.
The Grove, for those who don't know, is practically a recreation of Main Street, U.S.A., and almost as Christmassy. It was bizarre because, with absolutely no stores open, this mall was insanely busy. But there's the towering tree and pretty lights and snow! And it's L.A.'s busiest movie theater's busiest night of the year. The other two nights of the weekend were filled with Disneyland Christmassy. And last weekend's combination of Hanukah Party, Christmas Party and Dickensian Christmas concert all made for a very satisfying and quite jolly yuletide season. God Bless Us, Every One. |

I love Christmas.
After seeing the gifts given and my happy children and beautiful wife, though I did not get the one thing I truly wanted (a 2007 red convertable mustang - I can dream, eh?), I realize more than ever what a blessed man I am to have such an incredible family who loves me and I would lay my life down for without a thought. Is there any better gift than having that in your life every day? I was clearing dishes after Christmas Eve dinner at my inlaws (wonderful people), and there, in order, with their backs to me, were my mother in law rinsing, my wife putting dishes in the dishwasher, and my 12 year old and 5 year old daughters drying things that couldn't go in the dishwasher. Three generations and the four most important women to me in the world standing next to each other, just being, oblivious to the fact that I was staring at them in wonder and amazement, asking the good Lord above what I had ever done to deserve such a life as I have, holding back a few slow rolling tears so as to not draw attention to myself and spoil perhaps the most perfect moment in time I could ever remember. I love Christmas. |
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope Santa was good to you (no matter who or what your Santa happens to be).
|
Murry Christmassss!!!
Had a great dinner, spent it with family, and the day was very grand. I hope all of you had a great Christmas as well. Hey GD, that corn dog looks happy to see you! Or is it a Horn Dog!! :D If I look closely I can see both male and female parts. Or is it jus too much Christmas Spirits, I dunno... Oh, and NA, I vote for Santa Bob ;) ..... Happy New Year!!! ~Bob |
I too had a very pleasant Christmas day. Bill gave me an iPod (I feel like I can finally look the 21st century in the face!), and he loves the Frank Lloyd Wright watch I gave him. After a nice breakfast of sourdough pancakes and bacon, we went over to my sister's. For once, my family managed to overcome our gift giving dyslexia - everyone gave each other gifts they actually liked. As usual, my 2 year old great niece received the biggest haul (my sister's first grand child). Tigers are her favorite animal, and I gave her a stuffed white tiger as big as she is. As the adults all sat around the family room talking, she lay on the floor, cuddling it.
I too feel blessed for my warm and loving family, and for the man who shares my life and loves me as much as I love him. |

That's a wonderful story. I too feel very blessed to have such a fantastic family. We were able to connect with parts of our family in ways we haven't been able to connect with before, and that was pretty great. This is the first year that so many of us have celebrated the holiday (and a first for half of the people celebrating), so it was a first for big family gatherings even for those that have been celebrating for a long time. Though it was hectic and stressful, it was totally worth it to be able to spend time with my (and Michael's) family and give them things that they truly wanted and will enjoy. Of course, things are just things, but the connection and memories are what will really last. Christmas rocks. |

Happy Holidays swankers!
I've been lurking more and more and posting a bit more often of late and just wanted to wish everyone a "Happy Everything!" |
We had a lovely Christmas... a bit of a busy one, but pleasant. We drove up to San Jose to visit Tom's family--had a blast tie-dying with them, among other things. Then on Christmas Eve, we boarded a plane and flew in tandem with Santa, landing in Detroit at 5:30 AM. We managed to make it up to my parents' home three hours later, and spent the morning with them relaxing and exchanging a few gifts. Then the whole crew (two siblings and their spouses, eight nieces and nephews) made it over for the evening, and we have been playing games, snacking on tasty food, and enjoying each other's company ever since.
I'm grateful for the health that we have and the spirit that makes up for the health we don't have. And also for you rowdy LoT, who make us feel a little more complete, a little more included, a little swankier every year. It's almost 2007, but belated Merry Christmas, anyway! |
