Splash Screen Removal
We received some computers that have a splash screen upon start-up that we'd like to remove. Google isn't being very helpful. Does anyone know how to remove it?
Basically, we had Dell image a bunch of computers for us. Upon start-up some of them say "Department of Education" (in Spanish). We want to remove that (the rest of the image is ours). Thank you! |
Is this on the BIOS startup, or Windows startup? Normally there's a setting in the BIOS to disable a BIOS splash screen.
|
I'm not sure which OS you're using. But I found this article that works for 2000 and XP.
http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/...5797.html?Ad=1 Edited to ad, if you are using XP you can also try www.screenbooty.com Edited one more time to add this if you're using something other than 2000 or XP http://www.virtualplastic.net/html/logo_scr.html |
Okay, I can't be the only one who thought this was going to be a thread announcing that they've finally removed the screen at the end of Splash Mountain next to the owl that doesn't show your picture anymore.

/me raises hand

Me too!
|
Not me. I don't even know what screen you're talking about. But the last time I was on Splash Mountain was, I think, 1999.

Not only did I think that the first time, I continue thinking it and clicking on the thread. D'oh!

We're using XP. We thought there was something in the BIOS to remove it but our attempts have been unsucessful.
I'm still poking around those links. Sorry for being such a tease ;) |
I thought it had to do with the scream/vomit shields on the Maliboomer. I am clearly insane.
|
Yup! I was thinking Splash Mountain, too.

Sorry were not much help here, BTD. Hopefully someone with some help will pop in soon. |
Time to be movin' along...
|
Perhaps this link might be of some help....
|
Hey BTD, it's been a long time since I had to do anything serious on a Windoze machine, but have you tried Tweak XP? I'm pretty sure it'll give you access to the splash screen.
|
Have you tried a hammer?
|
Well, I was thinking about this problem more indepth.
There's a button that I forgot about on the monitor. It has this symbol on it ![]() Push it twice when you turn on the computer. Slowly count to 20 then push it one last time and the computer should be ready to use and no annoying startup screen. |
I forgot to add, if you reboot the computer, push it once, count to 20 slowly then push it again. You should be good.

I think you should look at this incredibly detailed link that clearly shows you exactly what you need. It includes pictures and everything. Here. This one. http://jakeludington.com/windows_xp/...ot_screen.html |
