LoT Freecycle Part Duex

I have a license for Office XP for Students and Teachers. You do not need to prove status when registering.

I also have 2 IKEA end-tables. They are triangle in shape and when put together they form a square. I've painted them a few times and they are a little beat up - but they are free and functional.

BarTopDancer 01-08-2007 06:28 PM

The Office XP license has been claimed.

Dang, I was hoping for a bigger triangle. Or even a parallelogram. :(

Tref 01-08-2007 07:08 PM

I am looking for something cookie shaped.

And that is exactly how I like things to go together. Unfortunately, I am looking for something more in the cookie area, like a cookie, or something close to a cookie, such as a big cookie.

Of course, virtual cookies are still free...

BarTopDancer 01-08-2007 08:15 PM

mmm Cookies.

Anyone want an adapter to go from an iPod or other media player to their car tape deck? It's brand new.

tracilicious 01-08-2007 11:40 PM

I refuse to participate in anymore LoT freecycles until Euro watches Defenders of Universe.

Gemini Cricket 01-08-2007 11:48 PM

No rhombus tables, BTD? Oh well.
:D

Kevy Baby 01-08-2007 11:53 PM

How about the periodic table of the elements?

Heehee! Cabin Boy! Michael loves that movie. I've never seen it. Our LoT katamari never got off the ground either.

wendybeth 01-09-2007 09:35 PM

Uhm, after stripping the Christmas tree, I've discovered some broken candy canes and a string of dead lights. PM me- first come, first serve.

Cadaverous Pallor 01-09-2007 11:14 PM

I have a cutlery organizer for a drawer. In great shape, just changed our system for our new drawers.

You have a drawer system? You do realise, in the event of a nuclear or natural catastrophe, people with drawer systems are the first to perish? Do you think the pioneers had drawer systems? Oh, sure- the Romans did, but look what happened to them.

Fine, fine! How about some light bulbs?

We now have nothing but compact flourescents in use in every spot we can put them. These bulbs all work but are at varied ages. They are guaranteed to work right now, but I have no clue how long they'll last. There are 4 bulbs in that Sylvania box that are brand new.

So here's what we got.

4 brand-new in-box 60 watt Sylvania Double Life soft white bulbs
3 used 60 watt flame tip candalabra base bulbs
2 used GE 60 watt ultrasoft longlife bulbs
1 used 60 watt soft white bulb
1 used 150 watt GE soft white bulb
1 used 100 watt soft white Sunbeam bulb (yeah, this one's from the range hood)
4 used 40 watt longer life soft white Philips bulbs (two have a bit of blue paint on it)
1 used 60 watt GE xtra life soft white bulb (bit of paint here too)
1 used 60 watt longlife white GE bulb (bit of brown paint)

ETA - I found one more 75 watter, not pictured.

I was going to sell this box on eBay but while researching it realized that it wasn't worth as much as I thought it was.

I don't wish to help people waste watts, but if you know someone who isn't buying compact flourescents any time soon and would like free bulbs, let me know. I will not throw these away. I may smash them for fun though....:D

BarTopDancer 01-17-2007 11:58 PM

That reminds me. I have to go to the post office. Sorry Crystal!

You've actually catalogued your used light bulbs.

Maybe Main Street could use them? Never know, now that Ouimet's gone......

Not Afraid 01-18-2007 09:37 AM

Can you ship the light bulbs to me - second day air please. ;)

Only because I was going to sell them on eBay.

NA, you really want 'em?

Not Afraid 01-18-2007 10:05 PM

No, I don't want them. I will give you back your Jesus, however.

mousepod 01-18-2007 11:30 PM

For the record, H just called you guys "fvcking heroes" for going fluorescent.

Give her a real-life mojo for me ;)

We actually started going flourescent quite a few years back. Bought a few and replaced old bulbs as they died. Then the Irvine Company decided to give us a bunch (as well as a blanket for the water heater and some fans for hot days). We got ourselves to complete flourescents except the specialty fixtures long before we moved out.

When we moved in here we took all the bulbs with us and bought more so we could go completely low-watt at the get-go. We tried to put some in the in-set lights in the kitchen but they looked awful - dim and reminiscent of a morgue. Sadly, we have to stick to incandescent there, as well as the dining room, because it's got a dimmer switch. When the hell are they going to master dimmer flourescents, eh?

Anyway. Don't you love boring household stories?

€uroMeinke 01-19-2007 08:44 PM

We've been doing the same thing - replacing incandescents with fluorescents - since the compact florescent light quality has greatly improved. But our last batch looked like the sickly fluorescents of old, so now I'm trying to be a bit more brand aware so I don't make that mistake again

Gemini Cricket 01-19-2007 08:56 PM

I have a tiki birdhouse that I got at a Christmas gift exchange thing. It used to be CoasterMatt's. :D

Free to a good home.

The icky-light CFs are NASTY! The sad thing is that, I don't want to replace them until they burn out so we've ben letting them go. I'm used to the front porch icky light, but there's one in the house that i just cannot bear to have on. I suppose that's one way to save energy. ;)

As far as being "greener" goes, I think we need a compost pile. All of out cat litter is now compostable material.

Yeah, we should have been suspicious of the 4-for-$9 deal. God was that terrible light. We replaced the four 45 watt incandescents in the kitchen with four "60 watt replacement" fluorescents, and the light was just...sickly. Dimmer and of that horrible fluorescent quality. Bleh.
