The muffin
 

Ate a muffin today
ate a muffin I baked
baked from scratch, yes I did
oats and bananas

BFD, you say
happens every day
but not to me it doesn't
hell I never eat muffins

want to hold on to that moment
when I did something myself
have to remember the feeling
the pride, the regret

cause the slack sets in
and the cash flows out
to keep time bundled up
blown on the couch

I am done with the cave
with it's sloth and it's warmth
want the spring to come early
O2 crisp in my lungs

the bike is ready to ride
brown bag lunch, change of clothes
banished the dust
and opened windows

gimme. that. SUN!
feel my cells divide
won't go back where I was
too far in this stride

spend 5 bucks on a snack?
have the cash, and I could
but the secret is this
this muffin, it's good.
