I Pity The Swanky Fool!

I love the A-Team. When it originally aired I wasn't very interested in it, but since it's been in syndication I've fallen in love with it.

I bought the First season DVD set. I've been watching a couple of episodes each day.

So, is there anyone else out the who likes The A-Team?

flippyshark 02-13-2005 09:57 PM

I grew to love it when a friend of mine forced me to watch some episodes on DVD. Oh wait, that was HTHBellcaptain...

wendybeth 02-13-2005 10:06 PM

No, can't say that I ever watched the show. Good thing, too, because I'd probably have that theme song going through my head.

HTHBellcaptain 02-13-2005 10:11 PM

It was a fun show. What I love is the way the villains will be thrown off the side of a hill and their car will roll over and over till it hits the bottom. Then they stagger out of their car without any injuries. I don't think any bad guy ever died on that show.

It's still on the air? where?

Easy cure.......just hum a few bars of The six million dollar man theme music and the A-Team theme is as good as gone........

oh, btw......the cure for The six million dollar man is just a stanza or two of Little House on the Prairie :D

You are evil- pure evil.

Two can play that game.

Easter is just around the corner- oh, look!
"Here comes Peter Cottontail
hopping down the bunny trail
Hippity- hoppity, Easter's on it's waaaaaayyyy..."

I enjoy A-Team when I catch an episode occasionally. I don't enjoy it to the point of buying the dvds.

Prudence 02-14-2005 11:38 AM

My brother loved the A-Team. Oh, those carefree afternoons when my mom was at work and we were home alone and he insisted that we could only watch the A-Team. From what little I've seen, it appears to be the same plot every episode with the dialogue varied slightly. And now he has the DVDs. His DVD shelves are full of A-Team, Sledgehammer, Dukes of Hazzard, and so forth. If the Great Space Coaster ever comes out on DVD I'm sure it will join its comrades on the shelf of bad taste.

Ghoulish Delight 02-14-2005 11:43 AM

I'm with HTH. I never watched it at all back in the day, but I've caught a few episodes recently, and was surprised at how ammused I was. But not ammused enough to seek it out.

Claire 02-14-2005 02:40 PM

Oooh, I definitely watched it back in the day! By then we had our second TV set, so it was one of the first shows that I could go in the other room and watch on my own, while my parents watched whatever they watched. And since my dad was a huge George Peppard fan, we often all watched it together, too.

I was a Face fan. Dirk Benedict!! :snap: Snap!! I'm a long-time Dirkette.....seems like there's another Dirk fan here...she and I were supposed to go on that Dirk cruise in January........ :D Tina, where ARE you???

Not Afraid 02-14-2005 02:48 PM

Wait a minute here. Wasn't The A Team the one with Mr. T?

I have no recollection of EVER watching that show. I was too old and punk rock for it, I suppose. I do have memories of Baretta, The Bionic Woman (eap eap eap eap) and the Six Million Dollar Man.

It's the same show. Just a variety of characters....George Peppard, Mr. T, Dirk Benedict, and that weird guy who did the impressions......

Not Afraid 02-14-2005 03:05 PM

OK. My sole memory of this show is of a whole family of people dressed as Mr. T - yes, all of them - trick or treating at my house. I think it scarred me.

Howlin Mad Murdock

Here is something incredibly dumb I stumbled upon - Mr. T vs. Mickey Mouse -

You could have requested Fantasy Island . . .

alphabassettgrrl 02-14-2005 04:49 PM

I don't remember watching this the first time around, either, but we had some episodes recorded with the magic of TiVo.

I love the Colonel. I love Murdock. Even Mr. T has his moments. I liked FaceMan, too- damn that boy is pretty. I remember watching BattleStar Galactica first time around because he was so pretty. Even now, he is still one damn good looking boy. And I'm not particularly drawn to boys...

The other one is Jameson Parker. "Simon and Simon". Another TiVo recording in syndication. Damn. I could almost go for him.

**hugs**

How did Pierce get into this thread? (Not that I'm complaining, but I just don't see the connection.)

Not Afraid 02-15-2005 03:19 PM

Ummmmm, he was on TV?

I loved the A-Team back in the day. I still love it today on the very rare occassion that I catch a rerun.

BarTopDancer 02-16-2005 06:54 PM

I cannot believe I didn't know about this thread until Allybell told me about it. I love you Allybell!

The A-Team rocks. At the time it was the most violent show on TV, yet children were crowding around the TV to see it. You never saw anyone killed and the good guys always won.

I was in love with Face when I was younger, and now both him and Hannibal catch my eye.

Awhile back The Onion had a peice on the A-team being pardoned... alas the link no longer works.

Motorboat Cruiser 02-16-2005 07:07 PM

I watched it when it was originally on. Not religiously, but I caught my fair share of episodes. In syndication though, it doesn't really do much for me.

Sadly, there are many shows that I loved as a kid. Now, when I see them in syndication, my first thought is "What the hell was I thinking?"

Gemini Cricket 02-16-2005 07:35 PM

I had a crush on Face.
He was on my list as a kid.
Along with Almanzo Wilder, Kurt Russell, Bo Duke, Hutch and all of the Von Erich brothers on pro wrestling.
