In Praise of the Highland Cow

I realize I am easily amused by most things in the animal kingdom, but I did not know about the Highland Cow. I like cows. I've stopped next to pastures in Switzerland to say Hi to the Swiss Cows. I've been know to talk to cows at state fairs. But, even the lovely Swiss cows don't hold a moo to these babies:

That's it. I'm moving to Scotland to become a Highland Cow farmer.

DreadPirateRoberts 02-08-2007 10:24 PM

Maybe you could open up a cow barbershop/salon

Not Afraid 02-08-2007 10:54 PM

I hope you all like them, because you're going to be stuck with my cow for a while.

RStar 02-08-2007 11:10 PM

Who glued cow horns on that goat's head?

That looks as real as a Jackalope!

:D

flippyshark 02-08-2007 11:48 PM

For the first time, I feel bad for liking beef so very very much.

3894 02-09-2007 06:28 AM

Why move to Scotland, when you could move to Wisconsin?

This could all be yours, Not Afraid. Not 20 miles from Casa 3894 ...

Sub la Goon 02-09-2007 07:47 AM

OOOO! Rock Star Cows!

Wish I had hair like that (again)!

And picking your nose with your own tongue is tre chic! Almost as much as getting someone else to do it for you.

A few more piercings and these babies could really take off!
Guernseys of Grunge!

innerSpaceman 02-09-2007 08:50 AM

Ooooh, let me know when their first CD comes out.

Though I guess, when it comes to cows, it's dangerous to request anything referred to as a compact disc.

It's the 45s that worry me!

Snowflake 02-09-2007 10:23 AM

Well, having been a barn fairy for a bunch of Friesian horses (Friesians poop a whole lot), I can't say I'd be up for mucking after these guys. But other than that, they are a handsome lot.

Strangler Lewis 02-09-2007 10:39 AM

That's not a very shaggy cow.

Prudence 02-09-2007 03:22 PM

Suddenly, the prospect of pasture land at the LoT commune seems more likely.

Not Afraid 02-09-2007 03:31 PM

Yes! Must have Highland Cows!

mousepod 02-09-2007 03:39 PM

NA - nice avatar, but I think you need a haircut.

CoasterMatt 02-09-2007 03:41 PM

Do Highland Cows play Highland Games?

Not Afraid 02-09-2007 03:47 PM

No, but they do highland dances wearing kilts. I'm sure of it.

Cadaverous Pallor 02-09-2007 03:48 PM

If there is to be some small pasture at the LoT commune, it should be far from our swanky digs. If the estate smells like poop, you can count me out.

That said - cute cows, NA. :)

Not Afraid 02-09-2007 03:51 PM

"Farmers air".

UNless we get the freighter - then they'll be Highseas Cows

Gemini Cricket 02-09-2007 05:13 PM

These cows get high swank marks for having such cool hairdos.
;)

bewitched 02-09-2007 07:28 PM

We have a commune?

Morrigoon 02-09-2007 07:33 PM

The cow pasture can be out near the small, swanky hunting lodge which is used as a quiet getaway and has a full library and lovely wood paneling.

Perhaps one of these will suffice.

BarTopDancer 02-09-2007 09:04 PM

JWBear 02-09-2007 09:07 PM

Oh my! It's in Wales, not Scotland... But.... Oh my!

innerSpaceman 02-09-2007 09:35 PM

The interior decorating is attrocious ... but with a few more undred thousand pound, my love, we could fix 'er up right nicely.

I assume you mean the second one - with all the floral wallpaper? Yes, nasty. But, it has a tower! And that conservatory!

JWBear 02-09-2007 09:42 PM

I'm rather smitten with this one.

We're still in the planning stages

Ghoulish Delight 02-09-2007 11:11 PM

Don't forget the winter home conveniently located in Pasadena (we can use the freighter to transit between them).

Ah zee parfum des vaches blooming in the summer sun, wafting through the library windows. I'd move that cow pasture downwind, myself.

Just sayin'.

JWBear 02-10-2007 08:45 AM

Stan4dSteph 02-10-2007 12:21 PM

You're just milking this for all it's worth.

JWBear 02-10-2007 02:04 PM

The puns are starting to get cheesy.

bewitched 02-10-2007 03:03 PM

Have you got a beef with this thread?

CoasterMatt 02-10-2007 04:02 PM

It needs more cowbell!

RStar 02-11-2007 12:00 AM

:D Thank you guys. I needed that!

I've had a pretty intense day. A good laugh is the best medicine, and I amuse easily.

Amooose easily??

The first link is a Yahoo link, the video you referenced. Not criticizing, just pointing to the video. :)
