Guess What I'm Bringing With Me ??

Hehehehehehehehehe - Individual portion packs - 150 of 'em !! :D

I'll be giving lessons on how to eat it correctly too.

It's like Rose Nyland's Spöerhöeven Krispies - if eaten correctly they taste GREAT !

€uroMeinke 02-10-2007 09:54 PM

You'd better be carefull, I'm not sure what the boys in Homeland Security might do if they encounter such things in your luggage - better find someone to be a carrier

lashbear 02-10-2007 10:06 PM

Hehehehe I hope it doesn't leak and eat a hole in the cabin of the aircraft....

cirquelover 02-10-2007 10:08 PM

You shouldn't give Vegemite to people you care about:evil:

Heheh, a VegeMule.

Gn2Dlnd 02-11-2007 01:07 AM

Delicious on an Original Cheddar ThinKrisp.

I'd assume.

Ghoulish Delight 02-11-2007 01:37 AM

I'm so in.

CoasterMatt 02-11-2007 02:24 AM

I guess I'll be bringing the Year of a Million Dreams Barf Bags...

thecorndogwalker 02-11-2007 06:20 AM

yikes i think i had some vegemites underneath my apartment building once.. they practically leveled the place...

Gn2Dlnd 02-11-2007 08:50 AM

No, those were Sodomites. And your neighborhood is full of them.

Hell, I know a few myself. ;)

JWBear 02-11-2007 02:12 PM

Some primal termite knocked on wood,
And tasted it, and found it good.
And that is why your Cousin Mae
Fell trough the Parlor floor today.

lindyhop 02-11-2007 02:19 PM

Personally I'm not in favor of food that requires lessons. I understand Hawaiians love poi but I'm not going near that either.
:p

NirvanaMan 02-11-2007 02:28 PM

That $hit is pretty awful.

Alex 02-11-2007 04:10 PM

Nothing wrong with poi. It's just Elmer's glue with less flavor.

Stan4dSteph 02-11-2007 05:15 PM

Lashbear, what's the difference between Marmite and Vegemite?

Matterhorn Fan 02-11-2007 05:36 PM

I bet Vegemite isn't too bad if you spread it really thin and then cover it up with a thick layer of Nutella or something . . . and then just lick the top half of the Nutella layer and throw away the rest.

flippyshark 02-11-2007 08:30 PM

Hey, I've had Vegemite, and, well, I didn't exactly hate it. I remember thinking that, with effort, I could acquire a taste for it.

~MS~ 02-11-2007 09:39 PM

Hey don't pick on the delicacy! That stuff even traveled half way around the world to visit Dexter when he was in the land of sand....I'm just sad Missy and I will be missing the lesson.

You know, chocolate might work in that scenario as well. Hmmm....

Hmmmm...I wonder what sort of wine goes with that? I'm guessing Port.

lashbear 02-12-2007 01:30 AM

Chateau Forsters...... :D

....although I'm a VB or Asahi or Anchor Steam man myself.....

wendybeth 02-12-2007 01:54 AM

Tequila gal here. I'm thinking it's gonna take a whole lot of the stuff to get me to try that veggi paste, though. Someone will be standing by with a bucket, right?

;)

lashbear 02-12-2007 04:52 AM

Yes. A bucket of Tequila.

Nephythys 02-12-2007 10:23 AM

blueerica 02-12-2007 10:34 AM

According to Wikipedia, they're more or less the same thing, just different brands and slightly different recipes. Vegemite's supposed to be a little sweeter. Marmite was first and from Britain, Vegemite was invented in 1923 in Australia when war (Wikipedia didn't say which war exactly, but I'm assuming it means lingering effects of WWI) made it harder to get Marmite.

LSPoorEeyorick 02-12-2007 12:49 PM

Oy, I'm home with a tummyache and I choose to open the Vegemite thread? Just what I needed for that pending yammy.

*yammy*

wendybeth 02-12-2007 01:04 PM

Yams are veggies, right?

LSPoorEeyorick 02-12-2007 01:39 PM

Yes, indeed. Unless they exit the system the way they came. Then there'e vetemite.

Vegemite is Yeast extract.

Is it made from real Vets ?

thecorndogwalker 02-12-2007 04:55 PM

vietnam vets or pet doctors? either way that is too "zombie" for me?

Disneyphile 02-12-2007 06:20 PM

I tried Vegemite once. I couldn't get that crap outta my mouth, even with trying to chase it with a bucket of liquid. I ended up dry-heaving over the sink for a half hour, while my friend stood by and laughed. So, I'll pass. Sorry Lash. ;)

Kevy Baby 02-12-2007 06:24 PM

I'll try Vegemite in another lifetime.

JWBear 02-12-2007 07:24 PM

At the '96 WorldCon there was a party hosted by Aussie fandom. My friend Nick (who's from Australia) and I amused ourselves by standing by the food table - watching the reactions of clueless Americans trying Vegemite for the first time.

CoasterMatt 02-12-2007 07:43 PM

I heard, that if you put a bunch of Vegemite in your mouth, then drink the Beverly, your stomach will EXPLODE!!!

I'll bet it does.

I can think of a few other things that float, as well.

(Actually, I'm on your side in this one. Tried Vegemite once, and remember liking it.)

lashbear 02-14-2007 01:55 PM

We all float down here......

bewitched 02-14-2007 08:25 PM

That's only because your toilets flush funny.
