Which Teacups do you prefer ?

Which do you think are prettier?

These that were at Nara Dreamland:

Or the Disneyland Teacups:

Vote for the prettiest !!

to me, they're invisible

Matterhorn Fan 02-11-2007 08:52 AM

Can I vote for WDW's version? If they sold actual cups I could drink my tea out of that looked like Disney teacups, I'd buy the FL version.

innerSpaceman 02-11-2007 09:10 AM

I don't know about the cups themselves, but Disneyland's outdoor, tree-strung-lantern-festooned Mad Tea Party is simply cups and saucers above ANY of the covered tea parties at those imitation Disney parks (by Disney and others) around the world.

:iSm:

Matterhorn Fan 02-11-2007 09:13 AM

Oh, I agree. Disneyland's have the best atmosphere. WDW's indoorishness isn't as nice (though necessary). But I do like the paint job on WDW's best.

innerSpaceman 02-11-2007 09:21 AM

Photo, please.

(That Disneyland teacup photo above is deceptive ... it shows the blank side of a teacup which DOES have a design on it. I call poll shenanigans!)

(Oh, and the Nara Dreamland teacups are simply too Mrs. Nesbit for my tastes. They look fine for crumpets, but hardly worthy of a Mad Tea Party.)

Walt Disney World Teacups:

As for the cups themselves, the Nara Dreamland cups are definitely prettier (which is the question asked in the poll). But the Disneyland Mad Tea Party does have a nicer atmosphere/setting.

I am not sure if showed up on your computer, but there are two photos of the Disneyland Tea Cups, the second showing the design.

But to me, this is all a moot point as I don't ride whirl and hurl rides.

thecorndogwalker 02-11-2007 10:10 AM

whurl and hurl... (more like sit and spin, and spin my way to a gravel sandwich.....)

same here... my equilibrium is pretty bad.... one of the few rides i dont get on at DL... but I love looking at them... I actually got so dizzy on star tours a couple of years ago...i fell as i was trying to get off... geez, embarrasing..

anyway.. i like DL's version.... the other one looks too granny-ish...
but lash-ster your definetly putting some honey in that tea cup!!!!

€uroMeinke 02-11-2007 10:12 AM

Aye, but how do they spin?

Matterhorn Fan 02-11-2007 10:15 AM

I can't speak for the granny teacups, but I can spin the WDW teacups really fast all by myself--and I'm a wuss.

The Disneyland ones? Not so much.

I've wondering - how are the Disneyland Teacups doing? Have they loosened up?

Well, you shouldn't be doing that in public anyways. Cancer prevention should be done in private.

thecorndogwalker 02-11-2007 10:21 AM

i am a tea-cup offender.. i had to register at DL city hall...

Ghoulish Delight 02-11-2007 11:04 AM

Bah, our photos are offline at the moment, but I LOVED the Paris version. Perhaps not the cups themselves, but the beautiful mirrored canopy was a delight.

Exactly! If the Nara cups have better spin then that may influence my vote.
I kinda like the Nara cups for detail.

CoasterMatt 02-11-2007 12:57 PM

Storm Force Acceleratron at Island's Of Adventure - Fast spinning teacups with techno music and flashing lights... Rockin' Tea Cups if you will :D

The Nara ones went so fast, I nearly made myself sick and had to slow down !

...and this with no door either ! (as if I'd fall out anyway)

innerSpaceman 02-11-2007 02:16 PM

Paris does have the best canopy ... of those unfortunate Disneyland imitators that don't have Disneyland weather. IMO, each of the copy Mad Tea Parties has been grossly substandard for being indoors like some traveling carny ride.

But if the Tragic Kingdom cups stills spin, that's one up on us. Plus I do agree their cup designs are more Mad.

Not Afraid 02-11-2007 03:03 PM

Madness takes it's toll - even then, I prefer them mad.

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 02-11-2007 10:11 PM

I like the position of the wheel on the Nara better. IT's not a croch rider.

CoasterMatt 02-11-2007 10:30 PM

Nara's gone, though.:(

That stinks that Nara is gone. But my vote is Nara. Damn guests and the lawyers who cater to them and who screw it up for the rest of us!! Disneyland teacups used to spin so fast.
Rant done.
