No...Splash...Mountain????

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

Splash is down during my visit this year!!! :( :( :(

I am so sad- that attraction is one of my happy places.

What are they doing to it?

Disneyphile 02-12-2007 03:12 PM

Refurb. :(

Nephythys 02-12-2007 03:21 PM

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

No no no no no!!! It's my....happ...y*sniff* *sniff* p-p-p-lace. :(

Darnit-well, I will have to comfort myself with the knowledge that I will finally get to see the cross eyed bride in person.

*pout*

Perhaps they'll take the opportunity to fix the neck of one of the Swamp Boys (that's popped out of his shirt more than once on my visits to DL the past couple of years).

You can always take a spin by Florida on your way home. Our Splash Mountain is pretty spiffy, if in need of some refurbishment itself.

Matterhorn Fan 02-12-2007 05:17 PM

But also in refurb right now, right?

It was when I was there.

Nephythys 02-12-2007 05:44 PM

It's just not fair.....

You'll have to excuse me, I am going through the stages of grief here! :(

*grumble* *grumble*

lashbear 02-12-2007 07:24 PM

I was terrified that Mr Toad wouldn't be open when I got there - thank goodness it is (eventually)... that's one I can't catch up at in WDW.

CoasterMatt 02-12-2007 07:46 PM

Jurassic Park will be back up from rehab when you visit Nephy! ;)

Splash Mountain is having it's lifts replaced, among other things - I don't know how much work is being done on the AAs.

wendybeth 02-12-2007 07:46 PM

I was also bummed when I saw that Splash wouldn't be open. Oh, well- at least I won't get soaked again like last time.

CoasterMatt 02-12-2007 07:48 PM

Nothing will top Mark, Rose and I aboard Splash Mountain... :D
It was so bad, that when we came back to the station, the CMs didn't load our log - there was close to 2 inches of water in the log.

mousepod 02-12-2007 07:57 PM

My favorite Splash moment didn't occur until we got off the ride. Heather and I rode it with her dad several years ago. When we went to look at the photo, we noticed her father had his eyes closed and was holding his breath. He told us that he was sure that we were going to go under water.

Of course, we bought the picture.

Too bad I don't have time to come to Universal :(

wendybeth 02-13-2007 12:45 AM

Hey, Matt- we're thinking about doing a day at Universal- you'll have to let us know your schedule that week!

sleepyjeff 02-13-2007 01:11 AM

It's only fair.....3 of my last 4 visits have been when Der Matterhorn has been down....:(

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 02-13-2007 11:53 PM

Isaac 03-23-2007 06:21 PM

FYI: The refurb was extended another 2 weeks.
The current reopening date is May 19th. :(

eighteenth street 03-23-2007 09:15 PM

Yeah, I'm going next week and it's kind of a bummer that it's goin to be down. Also the DLRR and the Mark Twain. At least Splash is the only closed E-Ticket.
