Stupid Movie Title Game

Back in my college dorm, one of the stupid drinking games (is there any other kind) involved movie titles.

The first person would name a multiword movie title and the next person would have to give another multiword movie title whose first word was the last word in the previous title.

Break the chain and you drank.

This memory popped into my head this morning because for some reason "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner with Andre" popped into my brain fully formed. So then I started a little solitaire version of trying to come up with the longest chain beginning with Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.

The longest I've come up with so far is in the spoiler but I wondered how others would do. Research is cheating.

Spoiler:

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
Dinner for Eight
Eight Men Out
Out to Sea (I have a relative in this movie)
Sea of Love
Love at First Bite
Bite the Bullet
Bullet for a Bad Man
Man of a Thousand Faces
Faces of Death
Death Becomes Her
Her Highness and the Bellboy

At this point I'm stuck and can only come up with a Donald Duck short called Bellboy Donald, which I don't think would have counted.

Snowflake 02-16-2007 09:23 AM

Ha! This is like a demented version of the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon (Why can't we have the Six Degrees of Kevy Baby?)

Anyway, I get stuck at level 4....

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
Apocalypse Now
Now Voyager
Voyagers

hmmm, I should really do better than this...

Alex 02-16-2007 09:51 AM

I was thinking others would try it with Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (and it just occurred to me that the proper title is My Dinner with Andre not Dinner with Andre so good thing I dumped that chain) but by all means post your own chains.

I'd get
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
Apocalypse Now
Now You See Him, Now You Don't (Disney movie! Bonus points!)
Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood (for flamboyance)
Hood of Horror
Horror High
High Plains Drifter

And then I've back myself into a corner.

My Dinner With Andre
Andrei Rublev

You can maybe justify Jerry Lewis's "The Bellboy" at the end there.

According to the rules we played by if you wanted to use a movie that starts with A or The you had to first have a movie that ended with those words.

But I'm pretty sure there's not Rules Council For Stupid Drinking Games that will get peeved if we don't follow that.

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
Dinner Party
Party Girl
Girl Trouble
The Trouble with Harry
Harry Potter and the socerer's Stone (of course Phoenix or Fire could be the last work here)

Alex 02-16-2007 11:44 AM

You could continue with Stone Cold. The Hollywood-career pinnacle of that most manly of men: Brian Bosworth.

Not Afraid 02-16-2007 11:54 AM

Not Afraid 02-16-2007 12:42 PM

Well, Irene bring me to another hautl so I went back to "Me" and could only think of song titles:

Me and my Arrow
Me and my Shadow
Me and Mr. Jones

Once I've got lyrics in my head, it's all over.

Not Afraid 02-16-2007 12:42 PM

JWBear 02-16-2007 01:41 PM

flippyshark 02-16-2007 02:49 PM

Girl in a Swing
Swing Kids
The Kids Are All Right
The Right Stuff
Stuff Stephanie In The Incinerator

And there I fall

re definite articles - Are there any movie titles that end with "The?"

Alex 02-16-2007 03:14 PM

Not that we ever thought of.

And according to IMDb you just broke the game since you named the only movie with incinerator in the title, let alone having it as the first word.

So I'll bump it back to The Kids are All Right and go with some young Ricardo Montalban studliness with

Right Cross

Snowflake 02-16-2007 03:17 PM

Cross Creek

Gn2Dlnd 02-16-2007 03:30 PM

Can we use conjugates?

Gn2Dlnd 02-16-2007 05:11 PM

Yesirreebob.

As long as the title starts with the word ending the previous title, what's a few extra letters?

Strangler Lewis 02-16-2007 05:38 PM

However, entire extra words like "Street" should be forbidden.

Not Afraid 02-16-2007 06:28 PM

Where in the hell are we?

Horsemen is a dead end. Comes doesn't go too far either.

The Tomorrow Man
The Man Who Wasn't There

€uroMeinke 02-16-2007 06:48 PM

I'm with you.

I remember a drinking board game with tounge twisters called "Passout". Anyone remember that game? A lot less work.

I had trouble with this when sober:

The stump thought the skunk stunk.
The skunk thought the stump stunk.

If you are playing the game wilfully, I don't think you can "lose"
