Tax Season
It's tax season and most people are unhappy.
For most, unhappiness for a very good reason. Scary audits, numbers, dollars, cents, all you owe is never enough to satisfy the IRS. Today I'm happy, the State of California and the IRS both approved my refunds. Yes! No tears and no woe; for this year I don't owe. :snap: |
My refunds were approved on Sunday and Monday. Just watching my bank account now for the funds (so that I can move a majority of it into short term and long term savings). And still have a few bucks to blow on something stupid and petty

Overall I owed a bit. I prefer that to a refund, actually. Interest free loans and all.

Only if you consider advance withholding of estimated income taxes to be legal in the first place.

AMEN and MOJO to that, ISM!!!!! Holy cow...I so agree with something ISM said....

That's funny ... the weather report from Hades says it's significanlty hotter than freezing ... and it fact, they're having an unseasonably warm winter down there.
But don't get me started on tax "law." Grrrrrrrr. |
I'm taking individual income tax this semester. It's very...eye opening.

I hate hate hate hate this stuff. The sad thing is, if I start my own business (which I am in the process of doing) I will have to learn it. Or hire a good tax consultant and attorney. UGH. Maybe I should go back to corporate life. |
I'm more than happy to pay thousands extra in taxes to not pay any attention to my finances.
Seems a fair trade to me. Heck, even if we owned a house I'd probably still file the basic 1040 so that I wouldn't have to spend more than 15 minutes a year thinking about taxes. Cockeyed libertarian that I am: I'm more than willing to give the government my money I just don't want them to spend it. |
