I will be giving Nigella-Lawson-Like lessons on how Vegemite can turn almost any Disneyland food Swanky, and you shall all know me by my Cap.

Look for the Lashbear Cap It's a monument - its a tradition, it Pwns !! It's the Lashbear Cap and it's coming soon.

Tour 2 - The second meet will be at Sat 31st March, It's "Queen Meets Queen" - Me Vs Queen Mary Vs Dr Frankenfurter ! We'll meet there at 11:00pm. Dress-ups are not required, but do guarantee a root. (or maybe not...)

Tour 3  :snap: - The Official Largest Lashbear Meet in the whole world. - April 1, The Hub, Noon. Let's sink us some bateaux, narrate the whole way through the haunted mansion, and giggle at what the caterpillar's smoke really says on the Mad Hatter's Mirror, while eating contrabann Corn Dogs.

Tour 4  - a Surprise party held That evening (April 1) in my own room at the Hojos across the road. Bartop dancing expected. Clean Lawns not guaranteed. Everybody come and watch lame footage of the now extinct Australias Wonderland on my laptop. Eat Vegemite Jello Shots...... put your keys in the bowl here, and..... let's all mellow out and have a fun night.

Tour 5 :D - we're booked in to see Tijuana on the 12th of April - a 9:00am Bus charter tour. Here is the tour we're doing.

Who wants to come along.?? I'm going to go crazy for the authentic food and the botles of wormy mezcalinie goodness.

Please tell me if you would like your name on the list for any of these extraordinary events. ;)

I would definately be there for that one, Rob!!

I'm also wanting to meet at the "R" (also for Robert :D ) to not only meet you, but also Mamasilva and Brandy! This all sounds like such good fun!

~MS~ 02-26-2007 08:00 AM

I can not wait to hug that big ol Bear and Stoat! What a perfect spot to meet, I can't think of a better one than the R for our Rob!

Snowflake 02-26-2007 08:14 AM

I'll be there for April 1 at the hub.

Hmmm, it's been years since I've seen Rocky Horror, do I need to bring toast?

flippyshark 02-26-2007 08:29 AM

You, uh, you are coming to Florida, right?

innerSpaceman 02-26-2007 08:53 AM

In light of the Rockin' Space Mountain travesty coming down in time for your last day in the States .... I would suggest a lightning tour where we pick you up upon your arrival from Nor Cal, whisk you to the Park so you can experience the real Space Mountain Relaunched (aka version 2), and whisk you back to LAX in time for your flight home.

That way you would experience both American Space Mountains (or, technically, all three!).

Whatcha think???

BarTopDancer 02-26-2007 09:36 AM

Let's do the time warppppppppppppppppppppppppp againnnnnnnnnnnn

Nephythys 02-26-2007 10:44 AM

Ok- I am so in for the Hub and the HoJos party on the 1st.

*squeak* is it March yet??? I wanna GO!

Don't forget to leave some time in that hectic tour to meet up with the PNW contingent, Lash. I'll send you a pm with our hotel and cell phone info. Might even remember to bring something that PNW bears love- Huckleberry jam. If I can find some Huckleberry wine, I'll bring that as well.

CoasterMatt 02-26-2007 02:06 PM

Since Rockin' Space Mountain opened, Revenge of the Mummy has gotten higher guest satisfaction scores... :)

Morrigoon 02-26-2007 02:33 PM

Rockin' Revenge of the Mummy? ;)

RHPS sounds like a blast! And I've already scheduled myself to make the hub meet that Sunday!

Disneyphile 02-26-2007 03:32 PM

Ken and I will be there April 1st definitely. :)

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 02-26-2007 03:50 PM

I'm a fool so I should be there at the April Fools meet!

Tour 0.5 - The Bleary-eyed Paddy Day Tour Sat Mar 17

We will be at the resort most of the day for Sat 17th March - St Patricks Day - (we arrive in on a red-eye flight that morning so we can't guarantee fully sparkling company on that day - There will guaranteed be drinks at Britain in World Showcase or something - depends if we get our second wind - who knows what we'll get up to - we might have to run around to Expedition Everest as well....)

However - I also call Tour 0.9 - The Around The World Or Bust Meet Sunday March 18th
We will meet folks at the Hub at the Magic Kingdom at 10:00 for breakfast and then a full day of fun and park-hopping (or not - we'll see what the folks want to do.)

Wondering if Lash could be talked into going to a concert in Costa Mesa that night....

JWBear 02-26-2007 06:08 PM

I’ll be there on the 1st (and maybe the 25th).

But I don't think I'll be able to make RHPS on the 31st. If you're going to be over here in Long Beach earlier in the day (or at any other time) let me know!

Not Afraid 02-26-2007 06:15 PM

I'll be there at some point. I'm actually confused by scheduling - but I just spent an hour scheduling vacation coverage while I'm in London and I'm a bit dazed.

katiesue 02-26-2007 06:39 PM

We're for sure on the 1st and maybe on the 25th.

LB will be the only Hungry Bear in the Florida MK. Next door to our Pooh is a shop and no vittles.

There are some breakfast options on Main Street, so I'll investigate and make a recomendation. (if you want to be a little more ambitious, and get up a little earlier, we could meet at Kona Cafe at the nearby Polynesian and have some of the legendary Tonga Toast.)

MMMMMmmmm Tonga Toast...... I'm seriously tempted here....

Matterhorn Fan 02-27-2007 01:36 PM

No one will be aerodynamic after eating Tonga Toast. But hey, it's healthy because it's got fruit in it, right? Never mind that it's been deep fried and rolled in sugar.

FYI, I was joking about breakfast at the Kingdom. There's no lack of excellent food at WDW. To be fair, I don't think I've ever breakfasted at the MK.

flippyshark 02-27-2007 02:09 PM

I've checked into it, and there are really only two places that serve breakfast at the MK, Crystal Palace and Cinderella's Royal Banquet Hall. Both are character dining experiences and require reservations well ahead of time. The only alternative in the park is the Main Street Bake Shop, which has muffins, bagels and coffee.

Bagels & Coffee is good ! :D

but darn it ! Now I'm thinking obsessively of Tonga Toast.

Snowflake is sending good interview mojo for you. Hope whatever it is is, it's a great and good opportunity for you.

Snowflake 03-02-2007 09:51 AM

Okay, I'm all set, JetBlue is flying me down on the morning of the 29th, heading to Hollywood to stay with a friend I did not see on my last trip down. He's a former CM and we're doing Disneyland to pop my AP cherry. A screening at the Academy that evening (Colleen Moore, 1920's flapper).

The 30th hopefully lunching with my "twin brother" that I don't see nearly often enough (if I had a twin it would be him) and maybe a return to Disneyland.

Saturday is up in the air, but I suspect I will be in Long Beach at Hotel Swank getting acquainted with Aleister? Not sure.

Sunday is the Lashbear meet where I expect there will be many swankers to meet and greet.

Monday I lose the glass slipper and head back to my corner to sweep out the fireplace on the wings of JetBlue.

wendybeth 03-02-2007 08:49 PM

I am not planning on doing the timewarp but I am planning on being there for the Worlds Biggest Lashbear Meet.

So, help. I've never been to a 'meet'. When does it start? What are the specs??

I need to get a one day pass{black out date}, is this at any ticket window or what?

I won't be able to hang all day as I am actually slipping this in on a family get away.

I need to know, is there going to be drinking going on? See, cause I have a donation. We don't drink and were given a bottle of Redrum...would the gang be interested? Let me know so I don't forget it.....

First and formost, never admit that you've never been to a meet. We tend to "initiate" people in painful and humiliating ways

But seriously, the only thing you need to worry about doing is showing up. The rest just works itself out.

Uh oh. Did I say I've never done a meet? I meant I've never met Lashbear. Thats the ticket!!

Okay. I need to know what time to show. I am sending the Hubster and Boy off to Knotts {cruel, isn't it?} as it is a blackout date. At least they can enjoy the hotel {Knotts'} and do what they want without my interfering. Oh, the things they'll eat and do!!! {must not worry about that, right?}

BarTopDancer 03-24-2007 06:18 PM

Oh fine. I suppose since MW is showing up I'll make an appearance. :p

blueerica 03-24-2007 06:26 PM

So, when exactly are they going to be here? Are they back in Cali already?

I'm confused. I leave this upcoming Thursday, and am relatively slammed up until them - but I'd like to squeeze them in somehow - perhaps on a Sunday or a Tuesday?

Hmmm...

Paging all Lashbears... Paging all Lashbears...

Matterhorn Fan 03-24-2007 06:29 PM

They should be in CA by now. You might want to give them a call.

RStar 03-24-2007 09:26 PM

Yup, they're here! I met up with Rob and Greg a little while ago. They are in DtD right now at the Uva bar having dinner with Lisa and Chris.

Oh, and I got some Vegimite from Lash! Thanks again! :D

Morrigoon 03-25-2007 02:49 AM

Are they hitting tomorrow's meet then?

RStar 03-25-2007 08:15 AM

I don't know. I only spoke with them for a short time. I'm sure NA would know.

Not Afraid 03-25-2007 09:09 AM

We had dinner with the Lash's last night and then almost closed the Grand Cal. These boys have ENERGY, let me tell you! Commodor Swank also joined us for the festivities. I do know that they are doing a character breakfast with Momma Silva, Brandy and Dexter this morning so I'm not sure they're going to be at the noon meet. I'm sure they want to hit the parks hard since there are quite a few rides they've never experienced.

HOWEVER, we're plannng a cocktail party at our house on Saturday the 31st before people go to RHPS. I'll have to get some details together later today.

BarTopDancer 03-25-2007 10:05 AM

I was at the park last night with my roommate and I realized I forgot my cell phone! /sob

Something was saying pop by the Grand Cal! Pop by the Grand Cal! But we took a right at the tram stop and just kept walking :(

Well, I never did get to find out if they were there. I was as far as being completely dressed and ready to walk out the door on my way to the park when a quick check of my bank account revealed that the stupid hotel I stayed at in Monterey double charged me and denied me the ability to renew my AP this weekend :(

We won't be at the RHPS swanking (sorry, all, we're in full-on all-wedding-all-the-time mode. Invites are being made that weekend.)

But I should be at the park meet the next day. For at least part of the day. Sadly, Tom's pass has run out and all coffer goes to honeymoon savings right now, so he'll be staying behind to finish what invites we don't finish on Saturday.

Ghoulish Delight 03-26-2007 08:17 AM

We were playing Disneyland guide to family all day, didn't have a chance to seek out the Lash entourage. But we'll definitely make time to hunt them down sometime between now and Sunday.

innerSpaceman 03-26-2007 08:20 AM

I feel decidedly Lashless ... so if there's anything going on any evening between now and the MegaMeet ... I'd be interesting in Lashing.

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 03-26-2007 09:30 AM

Aw, I was at the park sat night and all day Sunday. There were no bear sightings...

MickeyLumbo 03-26-2007 09:50 AM

swankers, geeks and bears. oh my!

HEY LASH! (sorry, had to shout to be heard over the observatron)

where are you now? i will be on-stage all week! might have to just wave and say hi on my way somewhere ... but, could possibly meet up after work and i get sunday off!! :-)

see ya real soon.

lashbear 03-27-2007 01:48 AM

Right now it's 1:30am (yes, Anaheim time) and I'm pooped !

I called Mammasilva this morning and got some word over a bad connection about Space Mountain. We went there, and never got to meet up again :( I'm not sure what happened to our phones, but I could never get through to MS, and if she called, it didn't come through. That was sad, because we wanted to giver her a BIG hug and thank her for the wonderful day yesterday (Sun)

BTW: 3894/Helen gave us beautiful Cheese Fezzes, which MS presented at the character breakfast. Yes, a Fez each made from cheese. Chip & Dale nearly made off with them for their own, but we got them back, and we will be modelling them at the Lash Out Cocktail Party. Big hugs & Thanks for the most original headgear EVER !

Tonight we had an impromptu meet of Zapppop (who joined us PM at the Rainforest Cafe - ask about my Lightning Glass Mai Tai sometime), Gemini Cricket, iSm, Lashstoat & myself. I don't think the family at the next table in Redd Rockets was quite ready for the conversation !

I got to ride Space-Mountain-With-The-Lights-On AKA Rockin' space mountain tonight and it seems slower when you can see the track. Nice music though. Sorry I can't see the 2005 refurb benefits this trip.

We ended up after "wishes" at Mimis for dinner. Much midnight oil was burned, and I'm going to sleep in tomorrow !!!!

See you all at the park tomorrow afternoon. Call me (after midday)......(714) 718 6394

Ghoulish Delight 03-27-2007 07:12 AM

Wait, 3894 was in town? How'd I miss that?! :(

Yeah! I would have loved to say Hi!

I was at the parks Sunday, and boy was it crowded. Spring Break I guess. Poor Lashes have to put up with such a huge crowd! Hows it been so far during the week days?

innerSpaceman 03-27-2007 07:33 AM

I believe the Cheese Fezi, Fezes, er, Chezes ... were a care package of sorts (I saw a note from Helen with a terrible pun about wearing them being the "whey to be cool").

Yay! Met the Lashes last night at last. TeeHee, I'm off to the office with zero sleep, and I don't care!

innerSpaceman 03-27-2007 08:46 AM

oh, we never did find a napkin or a park map to indicate all the best fireworks spots.

Here's my three faves, other than smack-dap in front of the Castle.

In Fantasyland, there's a small space between Dumbo and Monstro the Whale where you can orient yourself to see both a bit of the Castle and the Matterhorn. This is a great sensurround spot, with the show taking place in 360 degrees. Not great for filming, unless you know exactly when to look where ... but a great spot for being overwhelmed, and for seeing Tinkerbell's flight really close up.

Surprisingly, one of my other fave locations is the roof of the Parking Structure.

And (hoping you'll save this one for Thursday, in case I make it down again) the other terrific location is near it's a small world ... on the hill that leads down to ToonTown, if they don't have that roped off. Otherwise, on the risers in a spot where you can look towards the Fantasyland Theater area (where the main fireworks will be) without a giant light tower blocking your view.

Enjoy.

I don't know, it can't be all that bad.... Stoat reports that he distinctly saw a square foot of empty pavement in tomorowland at one point !

....and there was NO queue at ALL for the peoplemover.

Ghoulish Delight 03-27-2007 12:32 PM

We spent nearly a full day at the park with CP's family, who hadn't been there in, oh, 12 years. We did nearly everything (save for a few dark rides and other small attractions). It was crowded, but we got there when the park opened, took our time, made good use of Fastpasses and managed to have a very fulfilling day without wearing ourselves out. It's amazing how doing the tourist thing really does make the crowds more manageable. When you have the same goals as the crowd, you're working with it rather than fighting against it.

lashbear 03-27-2007 01:05 PM

Right ! We found we could get a nice range of fastpasses by utilising both parks at the same time. There was very little time to wait inbetween fastpasses.

Maybe this is where and why I don't have a problem with crowds- I'm always a total tourist when I'm there. I wear a fanny-pack even if there is nothing in it.:D

~MS~ 03-28-2007 02:30 PM

Miss Brandy and I are finally home and starting the daunting task of unloading my car but I wanted to pop in here and just say how wonderful getting to hang with Lash and Greg on Sunday was! We got to share our angels first visit to Disneyland with two of the coolest swankiest folks I've ever had the pleasure to hang out with! Taking blessings where we find them we were able to take Rob and Greg UP the stretching room of the HM and got them on several rides with a minimum of wait times that day before we had to split up. Monday I don't know what on earth was going on with our phones, I got a call and heard space mountain and we looked and looked for them but we finally had to head to lunch since we had 4 little ones that were ready to mutiny about their lunch...then the crowds were so insane we barely got over to see Mickey for Brandy then we had to leave for M's scout event in Corona.

Greg, you are adorable....Rob you are a love....Autumn and JP said to please tell you how much they enjoyed spending time with you, Eric was so sad to not have had the chance to say goodbye, he may try to pop up to the meet next weekend just so he can do that.

I'm downloadng my camera as I type and you guys have to see the pic of our guys in their fez with the Fairy Godmother, it's simply too perfect for words.

Hey had an awesome time with the Lashes at the park tonight. We took a stroll through DCA, then went over to DL to get on the Pooh ride, but there was a honey spill and it was shut down... so off to the Haunted Mansion, then the fireworks...

Very good company those bears.....

Oh I forgot to mention. After I had a bite to eat Lashy gave commodore and I some vegamite.. And then they put a giant glob on the end of a fork. I basically, not knowing stuck the whole thing in my mouth....

arrggh it was really gnarly. I didnt even taste it, i swallowed it real quick.

I dont think I am going to be sticking that thing in my mouth anymore. But it's got really nice packaging...

But thank you Lashbear for those nice recipes on how to use it...

LOFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Motorboat Cruiser 03-29-2007 01:27 PM

So, who all is going to be there Sunday.

I have a nearby gig in Santa Ana from 12-5:30. Therefore, I can't make the noon hub thing. I'm assuming/hoping that there still will be folks there after 6, which is when I'm likely to arrive.

Who would be the best person to contact? I'm assuming Lisa but don't know of her plans.

Ghoulish Delight 03-29-2007 01:43 PM

Our plan is to be there in the afternoon, head up for Passover Sedar, then return later, presuming the original plan for some sort of gathering/party will still be going on.

Matterhorn Fan 03-29-2007 02:24 PM

Is that a WDW pin lanyard you're wearing in those photos?

I hope you don't get beat up over that. ;)

~for the first {of April}, has it been decided where everyone shall meet for breakfast? What time?

~does the group intend upon entering the park upon opening? Or just when it meanders over?

I am wondering if maybe things might be pushed back after the cocktail party.....

I'll take your number, katiesue, and I think I have the Lashes' as I might have the family drop me off earlier than that anyways. {if I rememer to snag the Boys phone, lost mine about a month ago...} I've never been alone and I am a little intrigued as to how it feels.

Oh, I've been alone...looking for someone who is lost, being seperated, etc. Not a fun being alone. More of a pissed off type.

You all have fun tonight!

lashbear 03-31-2007 01:09 PM

We'll have a cell number for LashStoat soon, I will post it this afternoon from Hojos where we are enjoying fast & free internet access. Yay.

It was so incredible (and surreal) having ISM and Zappp take us to the Mini-Meet at the Lost Bar. Great to see you all !!! :D

MickeyLumbo 03-31-2007 04:25 PM

sorry to have played so much phone tag.

each time you've called me I was standing next to a mgr... (i felt the vibrate - had the ringer off) could NOT answer it. i left several msgs on you cell.

sorry i missed making magic for you... but, no worries, mate... another lucky australian family was treated to disney magic!

it was great seeing you both thursday night!

Wow, do tell! And, what a coincidence it was also an Aussie family!

innerSpaceman 04-04-2007 09:02 AM

Ok, rooftops fireworks failed last night.

Despite what Lashbear wrote in some other thread (I just knew two Lashmeet threads would get confusing), I am not indefatigueable. I was really low on energy last night, after 4 straight nights of activity. And pyro cancellation left me disappointed, without enough energy to recover.

The two cute boys I oggled did not raise my spirits either ... but rather left me feeling lovesick, grrrrrr.

Anyway, I'm in town (Anaheim) for one more night - tomorrow, Thursday. I'll be a the north end of the Mickey & Friends Roof, if anyone would care to join me for the original, 50th anniversary 'Remember' (without some man's voice intercut with Julie Andrews').

And please, if you care to, join me for a drink aforehand at the Tortilla Jo Cantina. (Not the Cove Bar ... enough already!)

The Lashes are off to Universal the next morning ... so I won't even be going into the Park after the fireworks. I think I've had my fill of Disneyland for the time being anyway.

Free rides from the parking structure to the HoJo's for any who require.

katiesue 04-04-2007 09:33 AM

I'm in. I'm off tomorrow so yahoo I can sleep in.

Any specific times?

Not Afraid 04-04-2007 09:46 AM

Soooooo, tonight is an early night for the LashPair? Should we stay home and not tempt you with late night revelry? Should be plan on Thursday instead?

CoasterMatt 04-04-2007 09:52 AM

I get to work Friday - GOOD FRIDAY = DOUBLE PAY :D

But I will be meeting up with the Lashpair at some point.

innerSpaceman 04-04-2007 10:57 AM

Not to speak for them, but I think THURSDAY is the early night for the LashPair ... i.e, bedtime after the fireworks.

Far as I know ... they are up for closing the Park tonight. But don't quote me.

lashbear 04-04-2007 11:38 AM

I can close the park anynight !! :D

....but the Stoat may go home earlier depending on certain criteria. His mileage may vary.

So let me get this straight. You're going back in the Park after fireworks, and I'm driving the Stoat back to HoJo's to put him to bed.

....just avoid that D**m Chai Rice Pudding.....

CoasterMatt 04-04-2007 01:37 PM

Chai Rice Pudding has wonderful aerodynamic properties, but tastes like rancid paste.

JWBear 04-04-2007 03:30 PM

I think I'm going to join you guys! I'll plan on heading over there after work. I should get there around 5-5:30. I won't be able to get into the parks, so will anyone be hanging around DTD at that time? Dinner?

innerSpaceman 04-04-2007 03:42 PM

Do you mean tonight (like soon) or tomorrow night?

If tomorrow ... I suggest dinner at Tortilla Jo's - - 'cause that's where I will be showing up for a drink (or 3) at, oh, 7:30ish. If folks want to do dinner there around that time, that would be swell. Otherwise, just meeting me there (at the outdoor Cantina bar) for cocktails afterwards would be fine, too ... if peeps want to dine earlier.

Or ... forget all about me till it counts, and meet up at the north end of the Parking Structure Roof around 9:15.

I'm not setting foot inside the Park. Sorry, but I've reached my Disneyland limit (I was so glad to go on Alice in Wonderland last night ... the only ride I haven't done and redone and done again in the last week or so).

So don't build any plans around me, except pyro plans ... cause after the fireworks, I'm likely taking LashStoat back to Hojo's ... disabling the hidden room cam ... and then, who knows??

Not Afraid 04-04-2007 04:30 PM

OK, Chris and I are going to be heading over to the Park tonight. Call my cell if you want to find me. We're leaving here about 5, stop at the Dalmation Coast, the off to DL.

MickeyLumbo 04-04-2007 06:29 PM

ahh crap.

i just got home from there. the place is WAY packed. my feet are toast. pedometer read 12.3 miles. and i open tomorrow. there's just no way i could join you... unless, i find a volunteer wheelchair pusher and IsM & LashStoat will let me sqeeze in. tee-hee

Cadaverous Pallor 04-04-2007 06:43 PM

We'll be there Thursday night (I say without yet conferring with my husband). It'll be an early night for us as well, as we have to be up eaaaarrrrly Friday morning for even more DL.

Life is tough indeed.

I cannot overstate how much the Gods smiled on us Sunday ... and how unsurprised I was, considering how important an event it was to so many people who love both Disneyland and the Lashes.

I daresay it was the least crowded day in all of SpringBreakdom. The immediately preceding Friday and Saturday were zoos. Last night, Tuesday, was a crowded madhouse.

DTD will be plently crowded enough for me, thanks. Spring Break Crowds is another reason I likely won't be heading into the Park tomorrow. (After cancelled fireworks last night, we could not get on either Big Thunder or the Matterhorn, but Haunted Mansion and Alice were short lines.)

I'm not in it for the rides, by any means ... but when I can't walk peacefully around Disneyland late at night .... it's better to stay away.

TeeHee, 'Remember' can be seen from the Freeway, from the Esplanade ... and from the Mickey & Friends Roof - - all without setting foot inside Disneyland. (But only the Mickey & Friends Roof will have the soundtrack tomorrow night.)

Wait. Do they broadcast the soundtrack in the parking structure, or do you just hear it in the distance?

innerSpaceman 04-04-2007 09:28 PM

No, "they" don't broadcast the music in the structure .... I do.

Kevy Baby 04-04-2007 10:37 PM

You are they.

CrazyLegs 04-04-2007 11:27 PM

I wish I drove I would go out to USH for day

MouseWife 04-04-2007 11:31 PM

Forgot to mention, at the Fabulous Lashbear Meat, iSm gifted us with a wonderful Star Spangled Banner.

I heard him start and was impressed with the beginning. But he continued and sang the entire song, without missing a word or going off key! :snap: :snap:

It was inspiring and touching.

Especially because he didn't do it for us, he just did it.

lashbear 04-05-2007 02:36 AM

I will have a copy of the fireworks soundtrack on my new i-pod Video (only 30Gig - thaat's enough for an old fogey like me...) I can play it at the right moment too...

Watching it a ka-jillion times does have its merits.

innerSpaceman 04-05-2007 07:36 AM

Actually, I do need zapppop, who has "the touch" for innate music timing (even if he can't see the fireworks ... e.g., our 50th DizHotel balcony viewings) ... and he may just make a surprise appearance tonight!

Not Afraid 04-05-2007 09:28 AM

We met up with LB and the WB crew (sadly Stoat is still under the weather). We had drinks and dinner at a VERY LOUD TJ's (but there was no line to get in, so yay for something). We all huddled around one small table so we could hear each other while the kids played games and got antsy at the other small table. (They were such troupers!)

After embibing, we took a pair of virgins on TOT. WB's nephew's response "BEST RIDE EVER!". WB's sister's take on it: "I'm going to have a heart attack".

Short but fun meet.

Quote of the night:

WB has her braces installed and it is making eating difficult. Apparently she broke something earlier. How did that happen? "I was sucking on some popcorn".

Lash Update

This just in from the Lash Pair, who went to Magic Mountain today - due to a "processing error" they will not be at the Park (i.e. Disneyland) tonight. As far as I know they'll be in Hollywood tomorrow. This comes via a text to Not Afraid, who's out tending the local pet community and cannot post at the moment.

Not Afraid 04-05-2007 02:22 PM

I'm home for a second and talked to the "pair". They went to Magic Mountain today and it took 3 (3!) hours to get into the park. They just got in about 1/2 hour ago and are going to take advantage of their tremendous effort and stay until closing. So there will be NO MEET TONIGHT.

I repeat: NO MEET TONIGHT.

katiesue 04-05-2007 02:32 PM

I repeat: NO MEET TONIGHT.

So, is there a meat tonight?

Ghoulish Delight 04-05-2007 03:00 PM

3 hours?! Did that include travel time?

CoasterMatt 04-05-2007 03:19 PM

Wow...

I know Spring Break has broken, but that's insane!

MouseWife 04-05-2007 03:37 PM

Geesh, is this also because they have the offer at Ralphs, pay for one day play all year? {or something like that}

3 hours?! Yeah, how much of that was commute time? It normally takes us about 45min-1 hour {from Anaheim} so poor Lashes' must have hit traffic.??

Well, we shall see what they report back....

innerSpaceman 04-05-2007 05:17 PM

No no no ... it took them 3 hours from parking the car to get into Magic Mountain.

Two hours in line for tickets ... plus a further hour to deal with the snafu of getting LashStoat's "free" companion ticket.

All this to get inside trash-filled, filthy, gang-infested Magic Mountain.

I know the Bear is a coaster fan ... and MM is the coaster kingdom of SoCal ... but I wish I would have known they were heading there. I could have at least warned them of the filth and the gang danger to life and limb ... with the Spring Break crowd insanity a given.

I'm disappointed I couldn't have taken some days off work to show them around town. They are doing Universal tomorrow, but there's so much more to the Los Angeles / Orange County area than amusement parks.

Assuming Disneyland will be packed to the gills on Saturday ... I wonder if anyone would be willing to try my 3rd-time's-the-charm effort at synchronized Structure Roof fireworks?

If so, I could try to make it back to Anaheim after my seder. Sounds insane, but Greg and Jen did it last week!

CoasterMatt 04-05-2007 05:18 PM

DUDE!!! I can't believe this! I could have gotten them both in there for free...

BTW Ism, there's more "gang infested danger" in DtD when there's a show at House of Blues than there is at SFMM during Spring Break...

Morrigoon 04-05-2007 05:50 PM

You know, they should really consider coming off the hill and having dinner at Miceli's. I mean, they'll be RIGHT there!

Never thought of that...but yes, free DtD 3 hour parking...close to all...more convenient than MM.

Were they {the Lashes} able to do any museums while up in L.A.? In San Diego, there is only Sea World and the Giant Dipper. Legoland but that is north of here.

I was figuring they would do museums in Balboa Park, Old Town, and stuff like that.

Actually, I was hoping to get fresh ideas from them.

innerSpaceman 04-05-2007 06:56 PM

I wonder what day they're doing SeaWorld. I haven't been there in years and years, and I'm due.

S'far as I know, they've done Disneyland, Magic Mountain, and tomorrow, Universal Studios. Not exactly the Museum Tour.

As I posted in one of these darn multiple Lash threads, I regret not taking at least a day off and whisking them off to some other L.A. sights that are not amusement parks. Tomorrow night's planned trek to Hollywood and WeHo is but a tiny fraction of what I'd like out-of-towners to see in L.A.

Not Afraid 04-05-2007 08:12 PM

Before I knew they were planning on hell day at MM, I was going to suggest a day in Laguna followed by and evening at the Boom. Alas, I'm only available for suggestions since I'm SLAMMED with work.

Morrigoon 04-07-2007 02:28 AM

If I go, I have to renew my pass. Don't wanna shell out $360 to NOT see them!

€uroMeinke 04-07-2007 09:17 AM

Considering last night, I suspect the Lash Pair will be sleeping in a bit today...

Not Afraid 04-07-2007 09:19 AM

They will be at the Park today, but later in the afternoon.

lindyhop 04-07-2007 10:53 AM

I'm planning to be at the Park this evening for my annual Easter Eve "PBDA is dark so I have to find something place else to dance" tradition. If anyone is around drop by Carnation Plaza...

I'll check back here later today to see if there are other plans.:)

Not Afraid 04-07-2007 12:02 PM

We should make a drive-by later this evening if I can find the toothpicks to prop open my eyes.

innerSpaceman 04-07-2007 01:52 PM

With the advent of this thread, there are now - - by my count - - FOUR separate threads dealing with Lash Social Events.

I think they are leaving town not a moment too soon.

Not.

I miss them already.

Cadaverous Pallor 04-07-2007 02:08 PM

Ah, even though we have a small reprieve from family events this afternoon, our bodies would not let us anywhere near the park today. We miss them already too!

lashbear 04-07-2007 02:31 PM

LAST NIGHT FLING

We're feeling a little battered, due to wheeziness and other fun things, but we will be in the Grand Californian for last drinkies and nibbles this evening from 6:30pm-10:00pm

If anyone wants to come along, we'd love to say goodbye to the LA contingent.

See you there.

Bearenstoat.

RStar 04-07-2007 11:38 PM

Ok, enough with the meat now :D

CrazyLegs 04-08-2007 03:32 AM

innerSpaceman 04-08-2007 10:28 AM

Um, no more Lash Meets? I'm gonna feel quite the vacuum that wasn't there before. Drat those Lashes!

Snowflake 04-08-2007 11:38 AM

Lashpair in SF

I can't wait for them to get here!

We're doing the cherry blossom festival and I'm hoping to be able to hook up with them on museum, Golden Gate Park day, whatever.

Safe journey Northward you two!

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 04-08-2007 12:52 PM

So, who's getting the van to b ring all the So Cal folks to San Fran?

MouseWife 04-08-2007 01:50 PM

From the other thread~

Oh my, yeah, how can the LashPair miss Yosemite????? How would they work that in.....the road that cuts across from Monterey towards Yosemite...that is such a long drive....then up and over through Placerville....oh, Hwy 49!! The Goldrush trail..

Oh. I do think the Boys will need more time. Just a bit more time.

innerSpaceman 04-08-2007 01:58 PM

Eh, just my opinion ... but I think 2 weeks in San Francisco allows for a day or 2 at Yosemite.

But that's just me. The boys spent nearly 2 weeks in Anaheim. By comparison, I think 2 weeks in San Francisco will offer lots more variety.

MouseWife 04-08-2007 02:21 PM

Two weeks in Frisco? Oh, yes, they can do Yosemite.

They can come down into Yosemite via the 49er. {right?}

http://www.historichwy49.com/churches.html

I think from Frisco they can fan out and do quite a lot.

Morrigoon 04-08-2007 09:28 PM

Wait... 2 weeks in the Bay Area? To do what?

They could totally hit Yosemite and/or Tahoe for a couple days and not miss much of SF.

Be sure you boys hit Golden Gate Park!

Clearly you've never been to Detroit.

MouseWife 04-09-2007 12:31 AM

Hey, we went through Sacramento last October. We stayed on the eastern outskirts {can't remember the name, it wasn't fantastic but....}. We were just stopping over and didn't have time to spend in their 'old town' but it looked quite large and interesting. I wouldn't mind going back.

Granted, I would rather then stay at the Embassy Suites right outside of the old town.....

cirquelover 04-09-2007 12:43 AM

We stayed at an Ebassy suites in Sacramento. I know we got in late, it was raining and a wedding was going on under our room. To top it off the streets were flooded in the moring as was half of downtown! I didn't see much, needless to say.

I think Yosemite is a must see and what about the redwoods.

MouseWife 04-09-2007 12:58 AM

Yikes, for an Oregonian to say this means quite a lot!

Sorry to hear it was a bummer. Well, tell me, at least, no one came to your door drunk insisting his wife was inside, right? Happened to us when there was a wedding going on at a hotel we were at.

What was really funny {although we were to pissed off at the time to let them know we were tickled} was that there was a whole family napping in our room {our family, by the way} as well as my sister. Pooped from a day at Disney.

Mmmm...the giant sequoias....I think in Yosemite the road that leads to them {in Yosemite} is closed until Memorial day. I think. I think that is they day they open {are scheduled to} open up Tioga Pass and other roads currently closed.

Right peeples?
