Can You Name all 53 African Countries in 10 minutes
|
Oh f-you!
:D |
Alright... I did better than I thought I would. I got:
But I missed:
I'm still mad a Babette though. |
Kevy kicked my ass. I was intrigued to see how many I knew.
Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Ethiopia, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali (I had a coworker who worked with the Peace Corp there), Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Zimbabwe. Yes, I forgot Rwanda, Nigeria, Somalia....seems I should watch more news. |
Time spent waiting in Coffee shops (either in line or waiting for the product) helped a LoT.
|
We did a joint effort and got 32:
Algeria, Botswana, Burundi, Cape Verde, Chad, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Missed 21: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Comoros, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Lesotho, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, The big time killer for us was the spelling. Music knowledge helped a LOT! |
I actually did pretty well, and was shocked at a couple that I missed. I've been blessed with Peace Corps friends that have sent me post cards throughout various tours, etc... Other, I just knew from knowing.
I got: Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Cape Verde, Chad, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, I forgot: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Comoros, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Gabon, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Lesotho, Mauritania, Mauritius, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Tanzania, Senegal and Tanzania - doh! I should have had those - and Congo - I thought that was just Congo. Wasted the last few minutes trying to get it to work by just typing Congo... heh |
I kept coming up with former names - Zaire, Rhodesia and the like
|
Quote:
Lol!!! First thing I thought was "Crap! I can't even finish the map of the country where I live, and doesn't Africa change like every three weeks? Same goes for the former Soviet satellite countries. |
I suppose the next logical question is Name all 10 Canadian provinces and three territories. Now, THOSE I can score perfect on! :D
But, since we're talking about Africa, I got about half of them. ;) |
Nope. Not even going to try.
|
What's frustrating is that at one time I knew all of these, and their capital cities, and their major geographical features. Oh well.
I spent a lot of time wondering why "cote d'ivoire" didn't take. |
Not even going to try. I do like the Animaniacs song for the countries of the world though. It might be dated by now however.
United States, Panama, Mexico, Canada... |
Uh, time to get the Wacko Warner "United States, Canada, Mexico, Panama" Video out.
Edit, Oh yeeeeeshhhhhhhh! I typed that response before even going to the 2nd page of responses. You're some sort of weird psychic, Stan4dSteph! tee-hee-hee |
All I know is that I like saying "Burkina Faso".
:D |
I still think Barack Obama is fun to say. It will be even funner to say President or Vice President Obama.:D
|
His name sounds like a magician's incantation.
"Barack Ooooo Bama!" And poof! A rabbit appears. :D |
Well, I'm hoping his name makes a certain horse's ass disappear.:D
