Shoelaces always coming undone?
Dude! I finally learned how to tie my laces so I don't have to tie them over and over!
|
Oh great... now I have to learn a new way to tie my shoes.
|
I haven't had a problem with this since I was 5 years old.....
;) |
I've never had to tie them over and over, though I always get the "crooked bow" look... I book marked it so maybe next time I happen to tie shoes and think about it, I can do it then.. heh
|
According to them I try my shoes wrong (I'll blame being left handed). But I also don't have any problem with them coming untied all of the time. Except for a certain type of lace used in some dress shoes.

I just double knot mine. It's worked for a long, long time.
:) I'll try it for fun, though. |
Since it prompted a poll, I want to be clear that it was meant as an "out of left field" facetious excuse. I don't really think being left handed would affect my ability to tie shoelaces.

I think you are right, Alex. After all, as long as the directions are followed you should come out with the same result no matter which hand is favored.
|
Maybe I can change some kids' lives then ;) I am currently trying (and trying and trying) to teach a 5 year old boy to tie his shoes. He so totally can't get it yet and it frustrates me to no end. I already tie them "correctly."
|
geez, I havent "thought" about tying my shoes in ages. *looks down* still tied. guess Im doing ok.
and Im with Alex...some dress shoe laces just WONT stay tied unless glued. (stapled?) I try to avoid those altogether. |
I've been doing it wrong all along. I'll try to teach my son the correct way to break the cycle.
Thanks CP! |
OMG, that site is hilarious.
Brigitte... try teaching him the "two loop knot" on that guy's site. |
That's what I am teaching him primarily. I did that with my daughter first too, it's a good method for little fingers until they get the idea and can figure out the other way.
|
I'm afraid that if I think about how I tie my shoes I'll never be able to do it again.
|
So which end of the velcro closure do I put over the other one ??
|
I just realized that excepting for my garb, I only own one pair lace up shoes and those are only worn occasionally. I wear slip on (as opposed to lace up) dress shoes and my primary casual shoes are also slip on.
