Prayer Request - May The Lord Guide Us to A Swanky Prom Dress

Daughter #1 is junior class president - pause for you to be impressed - and thereby in charge of prom (800 guests expected). The kid needs a dress and today is the day we're going to find that damn dress. The prom theme is Under The Sea so probably blue or green.

Okay, get those prayer wheels a-spinnin', Swanky Ones. This is going to be worse than jeans shopping.

Out of my league. Now if she wanted to wear a peach tuxedo, I could try to remember where I rented mine.

RStar 03-19-2007 07:00 AM

Oh, my. You will need all the prayers, good wishes, and the striength of Hurcules! ;)

You got mine, Helen! Good luck to you!

Oh, and a stiff drink for after

The worry of finding a good dress will be offset by the fun of, well, finding a beautiful dress that you can justify spending lots of money on. :)

And it cant be SO wonderful that for Senior year you say , But my junior year dress was better!.

Best of luck to you my friend!

LSPoorEeyorick 03-20-2007 06:21 AM

Yaaay! Pictures?

RStar 03-20-2007 06:44 AM

Yeah, since you posted this, you will have to get permission from your daugter to allow you to post a photo of the happy couple on their way out to the prom!

3894 03-20-2007 08:27 AM

Photo on prom night? :) You betcha, sure!

AllyOops! 03-20-2007 02:28 PM

Aww, Kevy! I'm so happy you posted that picture of me and my date on Prom Night, in matching couture, none the less.. We both were bringin' the sexyback in a big, logo'd way.

How I miss being in that dress. And being with that date. Oh, and being african american. Good times. :snap:

;)

Happy dress shopping! :)

Find out the color of vest/tie her date will be wearing. Tux rental places often only have a selection of maybe 10 colors, so it's easier to match to that than the other way around.

Umm... too late: the dress has already been purchased.

Good advice though.

At my prom my best friend/double date wore basically the same dress as me. Slightly different cut but same fabric/length. Luckily, the guys both chose aqua (class of '95 baby!) as their accent color, also independently, so it looked like we had planned the whole thing.

I am reminded of a tux that I wore to a prom (don't remember which one: I went to four different ones). It was all white with a pink cummerbun, bow-tie and scarf (it was the early eighties).

tracilicious 03-21-2007 11:05 PM

I so need a pic of that, KB.

wendybeth 03-21-2007 11:22 PM

I am soooo glad I skipped the Prom and went to the three day kegger at Farrugut State Park instead.

Kevy Baby 03-23-2007 07:19 AM

That's what I was thinking too. Until then, you did prompt me to update my avatar :)

3894 04-28-2007 04:07 PM

All may now be revealed. Voilà the prom dress ...

katiesue 04-28-2007 08:29 PM

Kevy Baby 04-29-2007 11:25 AM

Very nice. Hair looks good too!

3894 04-30-2007 06:45 AM

Thanks. :) Somehow, my daughters get older but I never do.
