The Lash-Out Cocktail Party (pre-RHPS)
 

So, the Lash's are planning on going to the RHPS on the Queen Mary in Long Beach on Saturday, March 31st. I thought it would be a great time to have a little off-property cocktail party in their honor. So, were going to shake up some Side Cars and put together a moderate spread and you're invited to join us at our house:

(Even though the Beat Film Fest seems the perfect Swanking, I didn't have the guts to decree two Swankings in a row at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood.)

Declaring it a swanking puts a lot of pressure on me to come up with decent food. ;)

You could always serve Vegemite.

No sweat NA, I could bring a costco sized box of those cocktail weiners. **** don't get fancier than that.

So. What is an RHPS? I think my grandfater had one of those procedures after his arteries were deemed to be fully clogged.

So wish I could make this but I have company for the weekend. The good part is we're taking her to Disneyland for the weekend so we'll definatley see you guys on Sunday.

hmmm, I think T&K are planning something that night- which leaves me free. If they are, can someone get me so I could join in? Otherwise I'll just play at Disneyland until they come get me. :D

When is the departure for RHPS. We wouldn't be able to make it AT 7 so wondering how late is too late. Don't know if we're going to go to the show (are we allowed to decide last minute, or do we need to RSVP early to reserve tickets?).

I'll go tentative on the whole thing, but if I'm ABLE to go (read: if I somehow have vehicular transportation, which is looking doubtful given the state of my car), then I could probably also get Nephy.

Neph: get my digits from T&K and let's stay in touch. But I'll have no idea till the weekend arrives, because I have no idea what in the h-e-double hockey sticks I'm going to do about my damn car.

I added a poll. If you are a maybe, choose yes. I need reasonable food and drink count. I'm not sure your choice about RHPS matter until that evening, so that isn't included in the poll.

We've seen NM in fishnets.

As most of you know, we own about 36 champagne glasses for NYE parties. We now own 24 cocktail glasses. I suppose that means I'm fully committed to throwing parties.

Until we break/bite through all the glasses, at least.

Damn...now I might have to come.

I think the host or hostess should call to invite him personally ... and then spring it on him that he's the transportation for the guests of honor.

We had a blast (sorry we had to leave early). Lash and Stoat (sounds like a brand of ale!) are all kinds of fun! I even got to meet Nephy!

Having finally met the Lash's IRL, I have to say that we have to hatch a plan to not let them leave. These two are wonderful!!! OMG, they are just the cutest couple :)

Yay! I've finally hung out with Lash enough that his posts have an Aussie accent in my head! :D

That was one hell of a party. Mr. Meinke's very stiff drinks made for good times.

It was strange leaving so "early". It was strange enough not packing an overnight bag, "just in case" ;)

Oh, and sadly, there were very few pictures taken. I myself got exactly two photos. One is of Scoundrel actually being nice, and the other is of Commodore Swank wearing a cheese fez.

Not really representative of the night's festivities.

Now that I think of it - it seemed like a LOT of people were there, but there were a lot of people that didn't make it. Our group of seriously cool people has gotten wonderfully large. :)
